  1. The sketch is just about done. I had to do numerous to get it right but I think this one is alright. I will get in here in the forums during the week because I have to work tomorrow and have plenty of homework. However, I have school off on Thursday so it will definitely be done by then. I went to check out the Blazer. Paint is almost perfect but it doesn't have rust on the body because the guy didn't drive it in the winter for some reason but he did have 2 other vehicles. Apparently its 2wd so that may be a reason.
  2. Done anything else on the Camino since it has gotten warmer? My Dakota project has been delayed or possibly halted for good. Apparently the dealer that let me into it with the Dodge key, had the VIN, started it for me, and had the price doesn't deal with those cars on that other lot which they moved them over there temporarily. That dealer just got new management with new employees that know nothing like this one. However, I found a mint condition 1993 Chevrolet S10 Blazer 2-door for sale. There is absolutely no rust on it which is incredible for those Blazers. A new project may be considered instead.
  3. Does anybody know if this will tax will apply to used SUVs like a 1993 Chevrolet Blazer? Will the 4.3L be hit with that and if so how much?
  4. Will they charge us for owning a larger SUV? If they do, the Expedition will be gone. I am trying to get my dad interested in the Ford Edge though because he would want another Ford.
  5. I think a darker wood may work too though. The bed is nice. I have seen those in many pickups and it is a nice touch.
  6. I went to check it out but it is on private property being stored for someone. However, I stopped at the garage and they said the guy may be wanting to sell it later in the spring. I couldn't get pictures because of an agreement with the owner but he said to look out for it in May. That idea may be scrapped then but I changed my mind for the Dakota. Sorry but I will get pictures when I can anyways.
  7. My college plans have changed so a first car will come later because I will need a commuter car. However, my friend's grandpa passed away and they are stuck with a 1995 Lincoln Town Car with 45,000 kms from what I heard. Maybe I could make an exception depending on price. My dad has already agreed to letting me get a project vehicle and so far I think he likes the Dakota idea.
  8. I am putting up this poll because I can't decide myself. I really want to do a project car and create something unique but cost comes into effect. I either want to do an 89 Dakota, 318 conversion but this would be a long term project to spread out the costs and badge it as a Dakota SUper Bee or Rumble Bee. I also may take that Aries I saw a while back or maybe the one in the junkyard for cheaper and drop in a 2.2L Turbo from a Shadow or Daytona. Intercoolers can be had for it as well. I really like the Aries idea to surprise people at the track if I can get it quite fast. There is a 10 second Reliant out there as well. 1989 Reliant "Relentless". A RWD K car has been done but it is more costly. My other idea is to restore that Dodge 400 convertible but that may be difficult since many parts are virtually non-existant. That 86 Grand Prix 2+2 is slavage and the title couldn't be found so I can't get it. What do you think? Price has to come into consideration since I am only a student. In that case, the Aries would be the cheapest but the Dakota could be done over a couple of years. Sorry they are Mopars but I have a sweet spot for them.
  9. There is a Maxima Diesel in the junkyard in my grandparent's town. It was alright condition.
  10. My spring break ends in 2 days. It was boring but I got to some of the junkyard but not all because of knee deep mud.
  11. it really depends on what kind of car it is. One could probably be had for $100 because they only give $45 to bring them in.
  12. If they have the title than you can rescue it or simply if you are going to customize it as well. We got our Mustang from there. That's the Grand Prix I saw there. it was in an accident so the front was all smashed up but it was that colour with the same window. How many of those were made? I may have to see about rescuing that one if it has a title.
  13. I went yesterday and the first thing I saw was a Dodge 400. I may pick it up. It was the rarest K-car ever built other than the Limos. The 400 lasted only 2 years and the rarest is the 83 Convertible because under 5000 were produced and under 6000 in 1982. This was a white convertible that looked pretty solid. However, the top seems like it may be wrecked as well as the interior. Most of these cars have been destroyed so far but it would probably be a rare collector someday. I am going to have to see if I can rescue it but replacement parts are virtually impossible to find unless they can be interchanged with the Aries or if you have a spare 400. I also found some interesting looking GM vehicles that I have never seen before. There was an older Corvair there, a bunch of Dynastys, and plently of old Caprices. There was a Pontiac Grand Prix from the 80s, it was silver and black with a red accent and it looked like it had the Monte Carlo's Aeroroof. It was pretty bent up but it was cool to see. Was this a factory option on the Grand Prix?
  14. Thanks. It has been a lot and I am guessing the Leukemia is just in the gene pool of our family. I just heard that my other uncle who just went into the hospital is recovering a bit so that is good. My other 2 relatives both had it terminally since it was too late.
  15. It would be nice as a project. It would probably just be a long one because of the financial aspect and the fact I have never rebuilt a motor. I could at least get the truck and find some motors. The 318s are easy but the 360s aren't around as much anymore.
  16. That's good then. They look good on the Camino and they just scream Chevy. It will only be a drawing however but I will get it up tomorrow night because I have to go to the wrecking yard in the morning to find some parts and possibly a 318 or 360 because I may take on that Dakota project.
  17. I actually am quite a ways through the sketch and the rims seem like they could work. I checked American Racing's application guide and these were one of the rims that would fit.
  18. The VCT 18s definitely would work. They look like Dodge rims plus they are the same size as the Magnum and Charger so they should fit. Check AmericanRacing.com and got to the application guide. If you see the size then that should work. The 20x 8.5" seem big. The 20s would probably be too big and too wide. You can even check the Dodge dealer as Mopar even sells custom rims for their vehicles.
  19. Nice truck. Baby it and wash it quite a bit to keep it nice. My teacher drives a 94 Sierra in that colour and he washes it all the time and it hasn't rusted anywhere underneath or on the body. The paint still looks brand new with no fading as well. He drives it in the winter as well and the salt hasn't gotten to it because he will wash the salt off once a week in the shop.
  20. How about these American Racing rims but the recessed parts of the spoke being powdercoated the same colour of the car leaving the chrome on the outside with orange on the inside. Replica AR IROC Rims
  21. I would never drive a Stealth as a first car. Insurance on them would be crazy and the price of a good one would be pretty high. If I get the chance later on in my life, I would buy one.
  22. I would have too say the Grand Prix. The 3800 is great as is the interior which I love the layout. It is a very comfortable car. I also liked the Altima but a lot of Nissan's seats used to be pretty stiff.
  23. This would compete well. I believe this is actually previewing their Equus large sedan. It is a luxury car that will be above the Azera and aimed at Lexus, Infiniti but at a cheaper price. The spy photos indicate that the design and the prototypes are quite alike is styling. I also really like the New York licence plate addition.
  24. For me it may not be just one car. I was 2 months old when I went to my first car show and my parents noticed that right when we went to Chrysler, I started crying and they didn't know why but they actually ended up pointing the stroller in front of the Dodge Stealth. I stopped crying right away and started smiling and every year after that I had always wanted to see the Stealth until they killed it off. I actually have an image that is always been in my head. I was 4 and I was looking at an Auto Mart book(similar to Auto Trader) and on the cover was a 1994 Dodge Stealth R/T in white. I absolutely loved it and I can still see the same picture. However, I have always liked Chrysler and GM. My parents always drove Fords or Chrysler. The Chryslers were always the remarkable cars to me. I had also liked GM mainly because of Pontiac. My family all had driven GMs on my mom's side. I had always liked the appearances of the Grand Prixs.
