  1. It's awesome that they have this, safety is important to buget minded people.. I am loving this!
  2. I forgot to reply to that quote. The reality of the situation is I am in school right now, typing on a library computer. I do like my job, some things are not great. I don't ask for sympathy. I only ask that people try and understand what unions did/do. (I know you have a good knowledge) Don't wish our jobs to China. The Auto manufacturing sector is still a viable one. Just a side note: I just read that Ford may have a deal which looks good to me.
  3. I could not have said it near as well myself. B)

Hi, my name is Corey I am a 5 feet 9 inches male. I have brown hair and blue eyes. I like to spend time outdoors, whether it be biking, snowboarding, skiing, hiking, walking or just stargazing. Favorite food is BBQ ribs, I could eat ribs every day. Im looking for a male who is a non smoker, good sense of humor and likes to be himself!
  5. You know it is crazy, once you start thinking things are looking up, it's all about to go down the tubes. I just hope something came up, it is certainly possible. We're here for you ocn!
  6. It doesn't exactly go that way, I think what the UAW is going to do is crazy.. I think that most of these disputes should be settled in an agreement, or it should go to arbitration. Strikes hurt everyone. I don't know who gets 15% Maybe the UAWs but not me! As I stated earlier, we get beat on all the time.. we bend because we would rather take less and work than strike, miss time, pay and respect we all have bills that have to be paid. Where I have worked, if the scabby worker makes mistakes, he is let known, if it continues he is given 2 written warnings and on the third warning he is plain out fired. If he is a lazy worker he is laid off. The people who work hard get promotions, same as anywhere. But basically if you are useless they don't want you.. they'l make you history. Workers don't stand up for workers that don't care. At least they shouldn't!
  7. AH yeah! just what I needed to read today.. that is awesome! Somebody in GM should get a raise for that!
  8. Yeah, I've noticed this. Maybe we need a personals thread :P
  9. You have no idea what hard work is, you have no idea what it is like to work a repetitive job or a job where you work outside in -40 and blistering winds. I'll step away from the Auto industry because you attack the very fabric of which I am a part of. You think we have it easy? If it is -40 we still work on outside in the blistering cold, if not the plant will stop running. While you are in your working? Prolly at the very worst standing inside complaining about the weather saying "The weather is killing sales". Meanwhile once again it is killing feeling in my face, toes and fingers. Trying to keep ahead of the list of tasks for my shift. You have worked hard to do what you have done? We all Have. Teachers, dentists, farmers, and almost all of us on this site. I myself am an Electrician and plenty of schooling to show for it, but then again, I don't know how to work for what I have.. it was all given to me..?!?! I don't think there is a real difference. I still have to work and we all play by the same rules, we just have people working together to make sure the rules are enforced. I would trust my life with most of my co-workers, I wouldn't trust you to check my tire pressure! In case you missed it, I agree with razoredge "Your times a comming too Mr. Tic/toc, tic/toc"
  10. That was indeed the beginning of the hell years, before that point they were building the best cars on earth, and still were during the hell years, the fact that GM couldn't get the compact cars down to a science quick enough. The Sub compact was the Chevette and anyone who has owned one says they were one hell of a car. (not much power, not much room, long lifetime and lots of utility) If anyone has sat in a Lacrosse they would tell you that the interior is great, if you sat in a G6 you would say it lacks. If you sat in a Accord you would say it was "nice", if you sat in a Ridgeline you would say "WTF". All car companies build good and bad interiors. I am a GM fan and I just want GM to be the best all the time. That why most of us critisize, not because we hate GM, hell this is a GM site!
  11. It is an issue that I feel is to be delt with one on one. Not saying be ashamesd of who I am, just don't act like CNN and tell the whole world. Let people know you who you are before they know what you are!
  12. Well, remembering I don't build cars and my personal battle with Oil companies is mostly different than UAW and the car companies. Considering that they are losing money and market share largely. GM is really in hot over healthcare and benefit expenses. I am Union and I feel that the oly way unions are going to survive is go into the 3rd world countries and fight the fight they foughty here 100 years ago. Basically where I work it doesn't matter if I am union or not, if they don't pay the right wage, we are not going to work there.
  13. You have no idea what you are talking about, Sales is one thing, but construction and assembly are another. When you have thousands of employees you need a union to protect workers rights. In my opinion if GM doesn't want to build cars with American and Canadian workers that happen to be unionized then they shouldn't sell cars here either... The government should be there to step in before all major manufacturing is gone from America. Believe me even though they are building new plants in the states, once japanese auto makers start building cars in China on a large scale unionized or not, their american plants will close as well. I beg to ask the question, How many Union members have you sold cars to?
  14. IF you drop the truck in favor of a car can you send the truck to me? XXXXX XXth Street Edmonton, AB

From what I know the EL in Canada is not going to be the Civic anymore.. it is going to change into a 4 door RSX and be available in the US! http://www.canadiandriver.com/discus/messa...html?1125524599
  16. I guess that is really why most models feel like older cars.. whatever it is they are still not up to par with rivals!

The TSX is obviously a better car than the Accord here, and the Civic there looks more inspired!
  18. That is the main problem with small trucks declining market because they are just too big now... all midsized trucks! Why buy a Colorado for 30k when you can get a silverado for 33K? The fuel economy isn't all that different either. So I think a true light duty compact pickup would do the market well!
  19. Everytime I think of hot cars I think Corsica, so for hot hatchback, I choose corsica hatchback!
  20. I would have liked to see them sold along side the colorado.. but with the colorado with a more upscale finish to it!
  21. I wonder what people feel what GM lacks most, is it powertrain, fit/finish, comfort features or looks(inside and out). I feel personally that currently they are lacking in plain looks, they are well engineered but the looks of the new stuff is lame.. most still look cheap or give me the feeling that I am in something old!
  22. How are they going to be able to ask that premium.. then again there are hundreds of thousands of ppl that would buy a civic if it were 30k!
  23. I just appeas that nobody really cares if the standard is broken.. Remember weekends off were brought to the world by unions!
  24. Cobalt... Interior is simple and clean, exterior doesn't look like it is going to jump!
