  1. uhhhh..., I'd like to meet reg's accountant. $800 is a "cheap repair"? most of the cars I buy (running/driving/title in hand) are about tht TOTAL!!!
  2. Sorry Hudson but you HAVE been misinformed. I sell brand new GM product and have talked to three dozen people who would know, like GM reps. & engineers about the LS family of motors and the ONLY thing they share with the 1955-97 Smallblock Chevy motors is the 90* V-8 configuration, bore spacing & the basic idea that they are both (cam in block) pushrods. The LS was a clean sheet redesign, GM had almost a half century of experience to draw on BUT they didn't directly carry over any parts!
  3. Go for the Caprice, you'll get your money back on that one.
  4. My apologies in advance if you're sick of V16 Cadillacs...
  5. Agreed! As cool as the Solitare concept was THIS makes it look like a Cimarron!
  6. Inline motors will always be smoother than stagered (the whole VR crap) so why even bother? ow big is a typical inline-4? do you really need to save on width?
  7. Proof posiotive that stupidity IS a dominant gene.
  8. two heads versus ONE, two valvecovers versus ONE, double the cams assuming it's OHC, double the timing belts/chains, two exhaust manifolds versus ONE....
  9. What's the matter with the batchtub 356 speedster Porsche replica?
  10. V6 are a stupid idea when an I6 is a WAY better motor, 99.9% of the time a V6 is a necessity because of the beauty of WRONG-wheel-drive but a V4 is just silly.... there's much more benefit to packaging a 4 inline.
  11. Seriously the FCX really is the poster child for birth control!
  12. Yes, very true. A friend had a Kia Sephia with 60K... the trans was having problems so they took it in to the Kia dealer who promptly said oh, well you guys are the 2nd owners, the warranty is non-transferable... so just for $hits & giggles they ask: but if we WERE the 1st owners this would be taken care of free of charge, RIGHT? Kia's response: The trans. is not the problem, it's the fact that it is LEAKING that is the problem, a trans. leak that caused low fluid levels that damaged the trans. is not TECHNICALLY a trans. problem & is not covered. WTF?
  13. I think the G8 is a gorgeous car inside and out... its proportions, styling, performance, curb appeal & mechanical superiority will win over many customers that have strayed from Pontiac's recent mediocre FWD products as well as new customers who never would have seen themselves in a Pontiac otherwise.
  14. I'd throw SAAB to the wolves in a heartbeat before I killed Olds.
  15. Yes... it does bother me to see 1959 Buicks & 1971 Cadillacs in the junkyard.
  16. Four of those were thanks to me. Three new Chevrolets & one Cadillac.
  17. Happy Birthday!
  18. IN my line of work: " VIN NUMBER" (VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER number)
  19. Fly: Of course it's metallic dude, this aint no cheap Chevy/Ford/Dodge! Flat brown is for the value-brands... not a high-end LeSabre. You gotta rememeber that car was the Lucerne of it's day.
  20. Montreal
  21. Funny stuff!
