Cool. I KNOW on more than one occasion that tired old 190K mile 307 Olds motor in my 1986 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham propelled me past 100mph, but I have no idea just how fast I was going. The needle would go past 85 and then just dip right off the indicator and the car would still be picking up speed. Those old BOF Cadillacs have ridiculous gearing. I think 110 would be a good guess. That is a hell of a lot of weight to propell at that velocity.

My problems do not involve lack of space.... if I was in need to mess with the B-59 right now it would be to install a Duramax Diesel so as to save money on fuel economy, as far as space, Balthazar is right, there is more than enough. Julie was resting her head on my shoulder the other day while I was driving & she was sitting in the dead center of the front bench seat, there was plenty of room to spare. Balthazar: I'm thinking 5, 6 maybe later? Is that cool? I gotta call GM1 too....

Even though I have very little respect for FWD anything these Impalas/MCs are built like tanks and do well in terms of safety, reliability, durrability & longevity.

Best Looking Cadillac: new CTS I also like the Escalade, STS & SRX The XLR is cool but has not aged as well as some of the others... Worst Looking: DTS. Those goofy FWD proportions make for a stupid looking profile. Like 99% of modern FWD cars the damn front wheels are set back about 12" more than would look pleasing to the eye. The current Nissan Maxima & Buick Lucerne are two more examples of this bad styling characteristic that plagues FWD cars. Pretty much everything about FWD pisses me off. Speaking of which if we include the EU only BLS than that takes the cake! That car has a disgustingly awkward huge front overhang.

I think 99% of Saturns are crappy econoboxes... except for the Sky. That having been said a friend's family has had three Saturns, two of them went a 1/4 of a million miles. They were both 5-speeds and one would have gone past 250,000 miles if it had not been totalled.

Don't much care for SAAB myself but if they stop hemorrhaging GM's money I will have no problem with them. I do think that their "beauty of FWD" defense is lame... at least in the 1970s & 1980s they made cool stuff that still had longitudinaly mounted motors like the old 900s.
