Speaking of ignitions...
Newbiewar has scratched the surface of ther answer but you guys are not really getting at the WHY and HOW of the answer. It's a very specific benefit that was enginered into Porsches early on. HINT: Porsche has done very well for itself in a particular famous motorsport event.

Pictures of Your Past Vehicles
While vacationing in my native Slovakia a Racoon, Grand Am SE, & a dark night conspired against my '87 Mercury Cougar XR7. I should have repaired her instead letting the insurance company total her out. If nothing else she wouild have made a great Demolition Derby car with only a new door.

Great minds think alike Neon. I too have a hate/love relationship wiht the Mustang. Most of the "hate" is reserved for the Mustang II, one of the worst cars ever made in the history of the milky way. A 1975 Mustang could not suck any more even if it was made by the industrial division of Electrolux.

Best. Video. Ever.
Yo-yo, check it Caprice-Man... If that Playa in the Mister-Two had been sporting a 7" exhaust the lowered backpressure woulld have helped the car sustain a straight line, Dawg. That little tight whip needs some yellow, purple & safety orange waterfall decals on the front fender. That also helps to maintain vehicle control.

Drunk Googling....
Same exact thing applies if you replace WET wiht other adjectives... Snowy Icey Slippery But somehow even though Speed & lack of driving skill was involved in the accident more thannanythign else it all turns out ot be the fault of RWD or lack of traction contrl/ABS/snow tires etc. Have I gotten into an accident in a RWD car? yes. Was it the fault of the car? Absolutely NOT!

Exactly... the original nosecone & wing alone would be worth thousands... but it's supposed to make no sense. Slant six in a Trans Am... definately not factory.

Internal Alarm Clock
Alright, so I'm not loosing my marbles. I mean it's happened a few dozen times in my life but this time it was creepy. It was litteraly like 1.75 sec. between me waking up and the alarm going off. Bizzare.

Ignition key
SAAB's setup is weird and useless... the keys end up in the way of the E-brake. Porsche has an interesting ignition setup: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...wtopic=5933&hl=

Speaking of ignitions...
Refresher: (I posted this trivia about a year ago) Why do Porsches have the ignition located on the LEFT hand side in left hand drive cars? There's a specific ergonomic reason for this. I have a feeeling JamesB, Razor, GT1750 or one of the other Euro-car nuts will know. Lovin all these new smileys.

General Motors SB V8
The new LS series engines take the best of the old, reliable and bullet-proof simplicity and wrap it up in a sophisticated and yet timeless design that leaves out all the bull$h! like timing belts and expensive, complex, heavy, bulky & high maintenance DOHC. Long live the SBC. I hope that it lives forever... it may just outlive most other forms of internal combustion.

~ I'm back!
I beleive there was a third prototype or whatever but officially two were made, had vin tags, were sold as new cars and remain today as prized centerpieces to ultimate car collections. Neon: I'm not a Ford fan, and enjoy ribbing the Mustang guys as much as the next Camaro/Firebird fanatic... but you have to admit the 302 powered Fox body Mustangs are forces to be reckoned wiht in terns of $/HP ratio and cheap, reliable performance. For $1000 you can go 16.8 in a '91 Civic with a fartcan and look like a fool... OR you can go spend $500 on a '91 Mustang and spend $500 on aftermarket goodies and be doing 12.9. I think the right choice is obvious! :pokeowned:

How much can you take?
Okay, here's a story for you: I love Subway 'Sweet Onion Chicket Terriaki' Subs. SO today (less than an hour ago) I grab one. Now I have to ask EVERY effin' time for them to spread out the meat instead of just throwing it on. Nothing more annoying than the first two bites being vegetarian and then a hughe glob of meat in the center of the sub. So I ask politely and the lady complies. The Subway I go to is owned by this Indian (or Pakistani?) family and after I make my very polite requesst they start talking in Hindu or whatver and laugh and giggle like school girls. That's rude. Maybe they were not talking about me but if you're going to converse in your native toungue & "make a funny" do it on your own time. I'm pretty sure however that the conversation was about the picky American or whatever. I don'tspeak Slovakian wiht a buddy in situations like this, it's just plain rude.

"And by god, Harry was in the line of fire and got peppered pretty good" That statement makes my brain hurt. First aim, then Shoot you ukcfing moron!

Interesting thought about the Camaro
Honestly Buddy, I think you're reading way too much into it to be frank wiht you. Any engine can be easily reconfigured to breathe from top or bottom... it's juat a matter of a ram-air setup and intake plenum with a possible (worst case scenario) redesign of the intake. Not much mechanical there... the only real engineereing involved is related to airflow characteristics, in other words no 90* turns in the intake. The scoop does not bother me but it is a little non-sensical. The car was given the traditional Super scoop commonly refered to as "cowl induction" which is functional and takes in air from the base fo the windshield since at speed there's a high-pressure spot right there. Very practical, functional and one opf the many things the Camaro contributed to motorsport of all variteies. From Drag racing to the Trans Am series to todays SCCA. That being said (damnit I'm rambling again) leave the non-functional boy-racer Riceroni garbage to the Mustang, that's always been a Mustang trait. Either make a scoop and make it functional (if only for cooling or whatever) or leave it off entirely!
