Detroit's Pony Car Dilemma
Mustang: C'mon buddy that bowl of fruit is MUCH more exciting than any Toyota this side of the TT Supra. With this pissy, negative anti-anything-non-bread-n-butter attitude Chrysler might not exist today. Look at that company before and after the Viper of the early 90s. And this idiot suggests what? Leave the market to the Challenger and Mustang? With that kind of attitude GM might as well close the doors and pack it up. Any other crowded market segmants GM should not venture into? Perhaps Cadillac is crowding the luxury car segment. We should kill that division before they hurt Lexus and Acura sales. Well let's take a look at this argument: Bread-n-butter 4-door, FWD, 4/6 cyliner seadns/hatchbacks: - Aveo - Cobalt - Malibu - Impala - Ion - L200/L300 - Vibe - G6 - Grand Prix - Bonneville - Lucerne - Lacrosse Did I miss any? Now let's take a look at this crowded Muscle car segment that GM is over-investing into: - GTO (and even that's a stretch... the GTO is not a Ponycar)

need some pictures, HELP!
Wish I had more time I'd do a few scans from some books I have... these are mostly crappy and too small but maybe they'll give you inspiration.

Look who else is convinced...
I hope it is Wilmington... that's close enough for me to go watch my future Camaro being built.

Is this the new Mercedes Benz E-Class?
WTH is coupe-like about this? This 4-door coupe maddness has to stop. Most of todays "Coupes" are not even coupes by true definition nevermind a 3-box, 4-door, pillared sedan. Me and XP are going to buy a POS Towncar next summer and make it into a TRUE Town Car.... but first I have to buy a compressor and Zip-cutter.

HOnestly I think MB did much better when they were engineering driven versus so marketing conscious. One of the few things they are doing which I wholeheartedly commend is that they still offer two (pillarless) hardtops. Other than that I'd default ot a Cadillac in most cases. Before I forget: this car is Uuuuuuu-glee!

Crazy Idea
Plymouth would be on my list of brands to bring back but only after Oldsmobile, LaSalle & Packard.

Chicago: 2007 Lexus ES
Forget the CTS, I think the Lucerne is a better value than this and you guys know how I feel about that FWD car.

How about a nice hot cup of $hut the f#ck up!? (just so there's no confusion I was talking to the Author of the article, NOT anyone on C&G)

IntelliChoice.com's Best Overall Value of the Year
Winners for 2006 This year, IntelliChoice.com identified 29 winning models by segment and class, plus eight overall category winners. The eight overall category winners are: • Best Car Value Under $23,000 – Toyota Prius • Best Car Value Over $23,000 – Lexus LS 430 • Best SUV Value Under $28,000 – Ford Escape Hybrid 2WD • Best SUV Value Over $28,000 – Toyota Highlander Hybrid 2WD • Best Truck Value Under $26,000 – Toyota Tundra Regular Cab 2WD • Best Truck Value Over $26,000 – Toyota Tundra Extended Cab 4WD • Best Van Value Under $25,000 – Honda Odyssey LX • Best Van Value Over $25,000 – Honda Odyssey EX I'm so disgusted right now that I think I'm going to throw up. This is absolute bull$h! of the highest spoon-fed American Media variety. For Shame.

Dodge Rampage Concept
Looks like it's a hardtop... cool! Pretty funky styling but not hideously grotesque like the Ridgeline. I say build it.

Chicago: 2007 Lexus ES
Ummm... the huge Q-tip center stack is not flat and uninterupted, though it is unattractive. "The ES 350's 3.5-liter V6 engine delivers 272 horsepower and 254 lb.-ft. of torque, resulting in an estimated zero-to-60 mph time of 6.8 seconds" "The front-wheel drive ES...." "Dual-zone automatic climate control" "electronic traction-control system that uses both throttle and brake intervention to help control wheel spin." What here exactly is so revolutionary or worthy of praise? What GM cars exactly does this Kill? Prices have not been announced.... but the media has already made up thier mind. Wow... Lexus has made progress since the Early 1990s? Break out the Champagne! This is why I try to avoid these threads. Sickening.

Caliber SRT-4
Yeah... SRT-4 was a cool ride, one of the few FWD cars I thought was worth buying. It was boy-racer but not too "Ricey". This just looks like a Chinese knockoff of the Vibe.
