  1. WOW!!! That sucks. BV was right!
  2. indeed. :)
  3. It takes more than horsepower to make a super car. I could put a 700 horsepower smallblock in my '84 Datsun but it would not make it a McLaren F1.
  4. I think Blue Devil & ZR1 are more realistic for a Corvette Hi.Perf. model than SS.
  5. I am so freekin excited about the concept debut that I can hardly contain my enthusiasm.
  6. Hey it looks like they took a huge turkey baster and managed to extract about 82% of the "ChrisBangle" out of the Seven. I actaully did not hate the Bangle Seven series. Yeah it had some strange styling elements but like I have said before I'll take love-it-or-hate-it styling over ANOTHER "Camcordpala" This thing looks tooo feminine IMHO. (and for what it's worth my G/F LOVES the current 7, esp. in black)
  7. LOL Lucky for me I'm not hairy at all. Back in H.S. I was teased because the hir on my legs was like peachfuzz... just barely visible and blonde. Extremely hairy backs are a turnoff for both sexes.
  8. Here's an example of Car & Driver making a great call. :rotflmao: I bought this on ebay last year with a bunch of other interesting car magazines from the 70s.
  9. Some other significant calls on MT's part. Rather Amusing (check the DeLorean) Check out the "Plymouth" hardtop!
  10. I was hoping the title of the thread was a joke... I have not written a letter to MT in like a year but it's effin time. The Civic was still not as significant as they made it out ot be and I think it's over rated but it is somewhat deserving... this $hitpile is deserving of nothing except a quick extinction. We need a "disgusted"
  11. I think there's a big difference between a few harmless images of satan & saying FU to Jesus.
  12. Yup... the "Car-Nation car - 20HP" was a pretty funny ad at first glance. And all us children of the 70s and 80s thought AMC was an unoriginal name. :P
  13. Woah there buddy. Being an Atheist and a Jesus basher are worlds apart. Anyway this is pretty much what my Christmas cards look like: --------------------------------------Merry Christmas!
  14. Yup... this is a Muscle Car guy's wildest dream come true. I'd want either the 69 Yenko Super Camaro or the bench-seat 4spd 70 Chevelle LS6.
  15. Remember that Disney Cartoon Mr. Wheeler? It was about a Dr. Jeckyl & Mr. Hyde kind of duality that most people have between pedestrian/citizen (Jekyl) and driver (Hyde). It was made in the 50s and the cartoon cars are wild. He drives a ealry 50s style car (have not seen it in like 13 years) looks almost like a Buick Roadmaster and it has a gunsight hood ornament. He actaulyl uses it to aim at pedestrians. And they say todays video game violence is bad.
  16. As much as I have a few problems with the Republicans and MAJOR problems with the Democrats it's the balance between the two that makes our nation so strong and dare I say powerful. If the Republicans had too much power we'd all be begging for tax money for schools, more jobs and religion would start to creep in too much. On the other hand if the Democrats had it their way we'd all be bending over backwards to feed starving crack whores and help them overcome their addiction, making the country bankrupt in the process while Cars would be mandated to 1.9 liters max and trucks to 3.9 liters max. while families in poverty would be issued a lifetime of beer money (uh, I meant food stamps) and they would be given a government issue Toyota Echo for free. I'm neither but as a Libertarian I lean to the right. Although this current administration has no concept of right vs. left to be honest. Politics sucks.
  17. LOL Now that's funny! "The 1914 Gramm-Bernstein 6-ton truck. It does the work of 71 donkeys" J/K
  18. Fly: I don;t know why I keep going back and forth with you. I guess we'll just never agree. The fact that you b!tch about all those thousands of BOF Lincolns, Fords & Mercurys clogging up Florida roads. (you know with their carrige tops and continental kits) but yet refuse to accept that GM lost millions by canceling the B-bodys and STILL IS just does not compute to me. Do you serously beieve that a customer looking for a Caprice Classic in 1997 just bought an Lumina instead? Hell effin NO! They went over to FoMoCo and gave them a sale! Just like my G/Fs grandmother and a dozen other peopel I know in that demographic. Marcia's grandparents owned the ONLY Chevrolet and Plymouths for YEARS. They had several Biscaynes & Impalas in the 60s. One Plymouth and two Monte Carlos in the 70s. Another Monte & a Caprice Classic in the late 80s and the in the late 90s they went over to the Mercury dealer and bought a Grand Marquis since Chevy had a (FWD, V6 midsize) Lumina as their flagship. And in 2002 had it not been for me talking Gram into buying a low milage used 1999 Cadillac STS off of Chevy of Lowell while I was working there she would have went right over to Acton Linconl-Mercury and picked out ANOTHER brand new Grand Marquis. So now all these new cars that they bought off of GM in decades past have no amount of value to GM. This is the customer, after a lifelong loyal ownership of GM BOF cars, that they toss aside like yesterdays newspsper? BTW: this is just ONE case, just one example I have. And Gram has more interesting car tales. Like how she learned to drive on a late 30s Packard with a manual trans.
  19. Its worth several million dollars now.
  20. You'd think Beecher's character on OZ would make people think twice.... It's very effin simple: drinky = no drive. There was a case in New Hampsire like 10 years ago, even as a teenager it really struck a chord with me. A guy and his buddies got out of a bar after last call and the friend with the car insisted on driving. The other three said NO WAY since he was completely intoxicated and they would not give in to him driving them home. They sat on the curb and waited for a taxi while the kid with the car (80s Nissan 300ZX) drove out of the parkign lot, sped down the road and abot 1/8th of a mile later (still in plain sight) spun out of control at high speed into a tree of a telephone pole. (I forget) Died on impact. How many of these true stories must one hear before they smarten up?
  21. I agree wiht the fact that since it's roots were in the FWD 3800 powered cars of the time it was not setup for anything bigger, even if the Northstar had be available it would have been too big. Besides, not like the chassis could handle much more than that, esp. in Convertible form. The axles were probably stroner than what you find on a Honda but that's not saying much.
  22. Well I know of one Beretta that got used and abused from 1988 to 2004 and racked up 288,000 miles. Of course it could have kept going longer if it was not sold to an abusive kid who beat the piss out of it in a week. First owner nurses it for 16 years and over a quarter of a million miles while the second owner blows the engine up in like 1000 miles. But that's not the point. Even if the Camaro was based on the Eldorado and had Northstar power it would still suck as a Camaro. The possibility of a FWD & a transverse mounted engine in a Camaro makes me nauseous. Chrysler is just now redeming itself and cleansing the Charger name of the FWD crimes against Muscle cars that the 80s caused. Thank God the FWD Charger was so damn forgetable that one generation later most are crushed and gone while todays kids think the last 2dr Chager was a big ugly RWD Cordoba rebadge job. A pretty non-spectacular car itself but a whole lot better than a four cylinder FWD one.
  23. Only about 18". :( Actaully about 10" melted off durring last week. It's looking like a House purchase might not happen untill summer of next year. I hope when it does happen a garage is a part of the deal.
  24. What do you guys think? :) --------------------------------------Merry Christmas!
  25. I also posted some more pages/photos on the original thread about this magazine, Enjoy. http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...st=0#entry61186
