  1. Wow, great read. My dad has ben saying for almost a decade that we wil come full circle and one way or another water will power a car... weather by hydrogen or more traditional steam. He's got uncanny forsight sometimes.
  2. Let's NOT. Just the thought of it makes me dry-heave. If the F-bodys had gone FWD I might not even be a Camaro fan at all today. A FWD Camaro or Firebird is the equivelat of a 20 foot stretch limo version of a 1961 Austin Mini. Wrong, useless, ugly, retarded, sacriligious, distrubing and a waste of both human effort & metal.
  3. The title of this thread gives me a migrane. I wholeheartedly agree with Balthazar... this is just stupidity at its most insulting.
  4. Australians are awsome! How about that nut-job who has a Merlin V12 powered 1957 Chevy? It a wagon or a Nomad... I forget, but in either case the 1700+ horsepower makes it one of the sickest weight to power ratios of any street car in the world, nevermind Australia.
  5. IMHO my Datsun Maxima was one of the coolest import cars from the 1980s. Other than BMW 3-series I believe it to the the only compact sedan with an inline-6, RWD, IRS, 5-speed manaul trans. and four doors. This is the only Japanese car I've ever owned and I love it... but even this car was supper forgetable. I mean c'mon, how many of you knew that this car even existed before I bought mine and started defending it??? I think a 1980s Toyota, Honda or Subaru is the definition of forgetable. All those Toyotas and Hondas from the 80s were forgetable. Percapita there's much less of them on the roads then there are Regals, Malibus, Firebirds & Cutlasses. Just like the Crowns, CVCCs, Coronas, Toyopets, B210s, Corollas & Honda 200s that came before 98% of them are crushed and forgoten about. Junk, trash... throwaway cars.
  6. perhaps it depends on the truck. No doubt the bed cover hard or soft will be the best of all.
  7. Wow.. I like it. The original was a bit too "I wanna be a Mazda" but this new blue one is downright sleek. As far as the plate I'd mount mine off to the side. :)
  8. Agreed. Look for a vanity plate thread from me soon.
  9. Hmmm... very interesting. I think this actually has a chance to work financially in urban areas. The roadside assistance trucks would opperate out of these stations and certain ones could be open 24/7 so if you wanted your oil changed, tires rotated and AC recharged at 3:45am it would be no problem. Great post! GM! you listening?
  10. Yeah, I think we can all agree that man boobs are not sexy for ANYONE. Esp. hairy sweaty ones.
  11. Darnit, I clicked on this thinking it was a 1:18th scale. :(
  12. The traditional ritual of olden days.... paper on the showroom windows and all has a certain romance to me. I was never alive to experience that but waht a thrill that must have been. To be riding on the school bus on a cool September morning in 1958 and being amazed by the wonderous Rocketships in the Olds Showroom... the angry Doctor's cars that have nothign in common wiht their MY1958 predecesors except the drawer-pull grille... and the smooth and futuristic twin port grille of the Bonneville in the showroom wiht the Indian on top... then it's off to Chevrolet where the rear ends look like they're modeled after Seagulls and Plymouth, Dodge, Chrysler, with their trademakr fins geting higher and even more funky.... and then after you think you've seen it all there's Cadillac. Quad Bullet shaped tail lights, insanely tall fins, torpedo shaped body and enough chrome to melt down and make 27 VeeDubs. No denying there's something very cool about that!
  13. Oooppps... sorry about that oversight Zee-two-eight. I must have been too distracted by the Sixty9 Duce-n-a-Quarta' That '61 Impala you posted is red hot too! Mute: Sorry, I think the tC is a horrible car in almost every way imaginable. The stance is awkward (looks like the rear wheel is about 14" too far back) and the CHiMSL is cheap and pathetic. Only about 1/3 of it actualyl lights up. Almost as if it was some ricer aftermarket accesory. Just my $0.02  -----------------------------
  14. Oh well... that's one more Corvette sale for Chevy. :P
  15. I prefer TWO spoke wheels... so there!!!
  16. How the hell did this thread go on this long with no mention of the Boat tail Rivieras from 1971-1973. 1971 waws the best year... bold and curvaceous, luovres in the trunk... 1972 was still great. '73 was too tame though, kind of like a '60 compared to a '59 Buick they toned it down too much. Another cool boat tail: 1932 Auburn Boat-tail Speedster V12
  17. I'll have to check it out... that kid is a funny bastard.
  18. Actually I think it was written by a sarcastic liberal. A bone-dry sense of humor is a great thing if used correctly.
  19. [ Take back your life, kill your TV! ]
  20. I have an four accounts jam-packed with reduced images... two Photobucket Accounts, one Imageshack and a Photodump, I was not trying to say posting images 1200 x 800 pixles is curtious or even advisable. I spend the time and post things right. Which is why occasionaly you'll see a photo thread where I'll say too big to post: American Muscle!
  21. The 8 series is gorgeous and I love the snout.. it's sutle and elegant IMHO. The best thing about an 850i is the hardtop bodystyle. (Croc: by hardtop I mean that the B-pillar rolls down w/ the rear glass for a faux-convertible look :AH-HA_wink: ) Decka: I love those quirky Frog eyes. BTW: did you photochop your Achieva boing a RWD burnout or is that some crazy Pro-Street 455 powered tube chassis car with an Achieva body?
  22. The taillgate thing is a myth. It's very understandable that the air resistance caused by the tailgate would slow the truck down but I read about an experiment where they found out that the tilgate down causes more drag in the back of the cab and therefore slows down the struck and makes for worse fuelm economy. Go figure... Balthazar: You just give me the word and I'll be there with my camcorder to tape you running 10.9s in the WQ59B. B)
  23. DO you think your dad would adopt a poor little orphan like myself. :AH-HA_wink:
  24. what he said... still sometimes if someone posts a HHHHUGE photo widthwise scrolling will be a necessary evil.
  25. Wow... somehow, I get this very subtle vibe that he's being sarcastic. I know sounds crazy but it seems like it. Another reason why gay marrige will not work: No one wants to be a "flower-boy" :P
