  1. Thank You to ************* in that order who hooked me up with the pictures. -Edit- Stupid, if anyone happened to send you illegal, embargoed pics, don't say their f-ing names. Christ almighty... -Flybrian
  2. obnoxious rims FWD front-biased AWD low torque engines with all their horsepower located north of 6/7K rpm. 80% of all FoMoCo products caffine drugs reality tree huggers hypocracy ... more to follow.
  3. Wow.... super cool. I'm jelaous. What a great backdrop for a new GM vehicle. I've yet to see the renaisance center wiht my own two eyes. Great post. B)
  4. crap. This is what happens when I'm gone for 36 hours. :(
  5. Oh yes, they have a limit on uploads... but lets just say it's more than a few. I had my account wiht them for less than a year and I've already maxed it out. :P But then again look at all the dumb stuff I post just for shits & giggles. Neon: that '52 is awsome... Never driven one of those old 216s. I hear they're quite adequate... for 1931. But then again the 4.11s must have helped acceleration. :AH-HA_wink:
  6. NO surprise there... the 500/Montego are like the modern day AMCs. They're so damn tall you wonder if they were going after the SUV crowd. It's mass is pretty obvious. I hate this current tall car trend.... Much more prefer the lower, longer, wider school of thought from days of yore. LAst time I saw a Ford 500 was walking out of a MObil on the run... the damn thing looks like a cartoon, tall and frunmpy.
  7. BV: Where the heck did I say something about popularity? Quite the opposite. Fly: The more important question is which cars DO NOT Have an excuse to be FWD. 2000-2006 Impala, Buick Lucerne, Chrysler 300M, 1995-2006 Monte Carlo, 1999 Mercury Cougar, Cadillac DTS just to name a few should definately be RWD. Does this make all these FWD cars unworthy? not necessarily but it does make them less somewhat awkward, costlier to maintain, less durrable and a lot less appealing.
  8. I love the trailer hitch... remember when Matchbox used to put those on half their cars... I remmber siting there as a 7 year old kid like, "I think I'll tow my airstream with the Porsche 911 today." B)
  9. When exactly did MT favor domestics? When the kiss Hondas ass or when the lick Toyotas? Or is it when they loved the Titan or praised the new BMWs. Please clarify.
  10. Happy Birthday, getch-yerself a 1:18th scale S I X T E E N and have a splendifurous day! :)
  11. Harley: Thy made like 15K in 1967 IIRC but I know 1968 they made like 24,000+ so it's pretty hard to find car for a reason. Not like 1968 Camaros that they made like ten times that much.
  12. I see more of a Honda CRX... except about $1.49 million more expensive.
  13. Three words that are essential to a successful SuperSport moedl line: ------------- REAR ------------- WHEEL ------------- DRIVE No, not every car has to be RWD but they sure as hell need a couple RWD cars. I think the 1996 SS Lineup was FAAAAAR better then the current one. And I really like the Coblat SS. I mean a full size RWD Impala SS & Camaro SS with a ram air scoop... that's a real SuperSport lineup right there.
  14. I think Enclave has a certain ring to it but it's just a bad name for Buick.... damnit they are focused on making damn crossovers again instead of just making a 300C competitor already. The Lucerne is not doig it for me.... yes I stood up for it when Croc was bashing it but I do not and will not ever get excited at a Lucerne. It' a freekin 2000 Maxima wiht a waterfall grille. Those fog lights look like tumors and the rear and venti-ports are decent at best. Now we get another SUV when the Raineer and Randezvous are both already rednundant compared to the rest of the GM lineup. Maybe the Enclave will diferentiate itself better but it's still nothing to get excited about for a fan of classic Buicks. When I finally get a '59 Buick and I'm considering a new car down the line the LaCrosse, Lucerne or any other new Buick will not even be in the running. A quite cabin and lexus quality is no excuse to make an uninspired and mediocre product. To me RWD be damned the last real Buick was the Park Avenue Ultra. Not as cool as the '96 Roadmaster but still a great product wiht fantastic styling.
  15. Welcome Neon. :) I'm a GM fanatic with a survivor 1968 Camaro that will be finding a new home so it can get restored while I'll be looking for one of two vehicles: '59 Buick or a '61/'62 Cadillac. Show us some photos of your former rides... esp. that '72 98 Regency and '56 210. I love hardtops.
  16. Wow Fly... so open minded. I can see why they chose you to be a moderator. :P I am not a VW fan by any stretch of the imagination but I'm frineds with a few. I repsect VW more than Honda, Toyota and a lot of other imports, but I'm still no big fan of newer Cabrios. A Cabrio has a better excuse than any Cadillac or Buick for FWD, its fun to drive even wiht the top up, and makes for a better urban vehicle than most supposed "CITY cars". I have a soft spot in my hearst for the Rabbit (Golf I) VeeWubbyas cabrio or not and happen to think those are a lot less stereotypically gay than New Beetles (esp. ragtops)... sorry Ocnblu, not trying to be a prick. I'd rather have a beat up 1992 Cabrio w/ 130K miles than ANY new Kia or Echo or Scion Xa.
  17. Yes, it's pea soup green like 45% of all GM vehicles made from 1959-to-1977, and yes it's FWD... but this car needs no apologies or excuses. An absolute marvel when it comes to styling. If this car was any better looking it would be illegal to gaze upon its sheetmetal. True classic. If I could only have ONE of each of a Riviera, Toronado & Eldorado I'd go with 1971, 1966 and 1967 accordingly.
  18. Stretched Corvette for all intents and purposes. But yet, still a noe-off.
  19. I love silver on most classiscs because it's differet but 90% of the time hate it on most newer cars beacuse it's so predictable. Wouldn'y mind having a '59 Pontiac in Silver but I'd rather have puke green on a brand new Audi, Mercedes or Crhysler 300... evryone and their brother has silver on those cars. This has been a flip flop between the platinum/pewters and silver for the better part fo a decade.
  20. Dude, I was born in Communist Slovakia and I would never take offense to something like that. I thought it was damn funny... my primary computer is still DEAD so I couldn't make something at least decent on Corel so I drew this Hammer & Scicle on PAINT. PAINT is about as useless a one armed Olympic Swimmer. :P
  21. Always wondered: is that line of B.S. about the steel plate under the driver's seat on the '83 Eldorado true? You know the reason Robert DeNiro's character survives the bombing.
  22. This is labeled as an Eldorado on the site but in reality is either a 80+ Fleetwod Brougham Coupe or a Coupe Deville. I've never even heard of many of these movies... I forgot about that awsome ragtop in "Fear and Loating in Las Vegas" I enjoyed the movie but since I'm not into the drug sceene at all some of the stuff was like HUH???
  23. Goodfellas, Casino & Godfather. 'nuff said. :D
  24. Yes, the Cabrio is kind of Metro-Sexual but who cares.... as you guys already know I buy the car I WANT, not the car my supposed demographic is meant to be driving. If I got a hankering for a little fun econobox 5-speed and it had to be a convertible and FWD I'd buy a nice Cabrio if the price was right. I don't care what other people think, which is why I still wear my Star Wars T-shirts and my old ratty Hilfiger Jeans on occasion. Life is too short to worry about other's stigmatas and preconceptions. Rock on you little Jack-Rabbit!
  25. Only a select few cars today have presance that even comes close to a 50s & 60s GM Chevy never mind a Cadillac. The CTS-V, Corvette C6 Z06, POntiac Solstice, Infiniti FX & M series, Chysler 300 are a few that come close but still pale in comparison..
