  1. Obviously BV and Fly need to learn to READ and not judge an ad based on face value. "Look to OLDS for all that's NEW" I was trying to make a point about the Olds name being a funny icebreaker in advertising. Of all people I would think the resident Aurora obssesed Floridian would get it... :rolleyes: BTW: the first one is a '42 but the 2nd and 3rd are '46 Oldsmobiles. NOT pre-war. <_<
  2. I've yet to see any of these cars in real life too.
  3. the Corvette Z06 (427) has managed to B!tch slap just about any sports car costing less than half a million dollars. And yet it costs $69 grand. Insult to injury. I love it. Rub that salt into Ferraris' wound. Now ask yourself: how fast would cars like the Enzo & Ford GT & Merceliago be without the Z06's presance? How abouot 650HP Mercedes Benz sedans? Do you think they would eve even exist if it was not for the fact that a $50,000 car spanks their $80,000 cars. Competition is a great thing.
  4. How "brisk" can the acceleration be or how much power does it take on those big rollers. NOt a lot of rolling resistance and the car is not actually travelign therefore pushing mass and air. The testing is flawed too. It's called a Northstar 4.6L 32 valve V8. :lol: :) Seriously 19MPG average in all driving conditions and yet it'll bring you to 128mph quicker than a Cop can swallow a Jelly Donut.
  5. James, where have you been!? I love how the Holden website still has that quick history of the Monaro link on it: Check out this classic '68 Monaro. I'd love to own one of these cars here in the USA. How cool wouyld that be?! Oh, and yes the new Monaro kicks @ss too! B)
  6. I love this shot. It's been my desktop for a while now after I found it online on a random Google search for hardtops. The picture was taken on my G/Fs b-day which I noticed only after I had it up for a few days. This is another classic desktop that I alternate. (this one is scaled down natrualy) My daughter Sofia in the middle of an art project. Eat your heart aout Picasso. :P
  7. Beofre I ever read anyone else's Celica comments I was going to say: "This kicks @$$. Great Design for a 2008 RWD Celica!" There is a $hitload of Celica in it but it is a great desing. Not very Muscle Car-ish in it's character or stance but a great looking car.
  8. So I guess I'm the resident Nit-Pick-Bitch. :P While I somewhat agree wiht the four vs. six tali lights thing the Chevelle would be okay wiht six, Esp. if the Impala is okay wiht four. ither way it's hot and I need to get my arse in gear for this contest.
  9. Love it. Keep 'em coming GM. I hope a 2007/8/9 Camaro is just around the corner with a 500HP ZL1 option.
  10. The answer to your query is a sad one... no. The damn 98 should SO have been based on the B-bodys. :angry:
  11. Awsome!!! Love it. I give it a solid A. Why not an A+? Too much "Ford" in the styling.
  12. The story is told in many different ways. It seems every Musclecar or Camaro book I have has a different spin on the Panther tale. One book even mentions Ralph Nader. It says after he picked on the Corvair and wreaked havoc for GM with his "Safety" campaign they felt the name Panther was much too high profile and risque for the division. Camaro (meaning friend in Sp. & Fr.) fit the bill AND the bonus was it started wiht a "C". Estees and one other executive I forget were the ones flipping through a Spanish/French dictionary when they found it. I'll post an interesting article later. :) P.S. the M/C came out in fall of 1969 as a 1970 model.
  13. On eof the most strangest but coolest Caddys ever. Where's Bobo?
  14. Nope, not an integra... the headlights are off of a Nissan Silvia BTW.
  15. I promisse to make a whilehearted effort to post the story/pics tomorrow. BTW: Cinnamon? Ever drive it? Any helicopters follow you around?
  16. Now tell me what car lies under all that fiberglass and bondo? P.S. look at the underside of the hood! :rolleyes:
  17. One more: 1969 ---> 1999 --->
  18. one man's trash is another man's Camry clone.
  19. Don;t get me wrong, if I HAD to buy a Scion it would be the goofy xB over the other two. The mini-Astro styling is a bit endearing.
  20. This is all I have to say to people who bitch about the Olds name:
  21. Of course I was being serious. What would even make you THINK I was joking??? :ph34r: Here's another "midsize" Caddy I'd love to have for a daily driver. I'm not as much into height as I am into L E N G T H and w i d t h. Hence my love for BOF land Yachts. B)
  22. I know, I know... the wheels give it away. You probably will not find THIS car on the farm.
  23. Ocnblu: I know, I don;t think I've ever been ofended by you. Within my first month on C&G I realised your sense of humor is very much like mine. Always looking to get a rise out of people. {scratches head, thinks for a minute} Not THAT kind of Rise... you know what I mean. {continues digging hole}
  24. ...and to you on your day of birth I bring you, two of every generation. Call it the "Monte CARKlo". http://www.cheersandgears.com/public/style_emoticons//AH-HA_wink.gif I've heard rumors of Lumina coupes in the mid to late 1990s and even as recent as 2005 leaving the factory accidentaly labeled and emblemed as Monte Carlos. But we all know a unibody, FWD car is not a real Monte Carlo, esp. not a V6 powered one! I hope these mistakes get recalled adn relabeled as "Lumina Eurosports" or Berettas. <_< :P
  25. LMAO My gut says Studebaker for obviopus reasons.
