Detroit 2012: Lincoln To Show MKZ Concept

    January 3, 2012

Alongside the new Ford Fusion, Lincoln will be showing off a thinly-disguised concept car version of its next-generation MKZ sedan at next week's Detroit Auto Show.

“This is the biggest statement Lincoln has ever made at an auto show. Our NAIAS display represents more than a vehicle debut. It represents the reinvention of Lincoln,” said Lincoln design director Max Wolff.

The MKZ marks the next step in Lincoln's revitalization plans. Last year Lincoln started to put the plan in motion by showing the refreshed MKS and MKT.

Not much is known about the new MKZ besides retaining the Fusion’s front-biased architecture. Lincoln says the next MKZ will be much more distinct than the previous model.

The dealership that got our franchise has since given it up, reportedly in response to Ford's demands for Lincoln stores going forward. Now there is no Lincoln outlet in Lancaster County. A lot of our loyal service and bodyshop Lincoln customers are very upset and angry. Rebuffing existing customer base before attracting a new one seems like suicide.

    • Yes, moderation is a challenge for this foodie. I love to cook, have learned to moderate how much I eat as I gotten older.
    • It's that I don't like being in the kitchen, minding the sequences, buying and stocking up on ingredients.  I never got into it when I should have.  On the other hand, if I liked my own cooking, I might have a problem on my hands!
    • I learn from my failures and push to be better.
    • They will come to Canada where autos are cheaper such as the new Honda Prelude that is $7,000 cheaper in Canada than the U.S. due to Idiot47 Tariffs that are hurting so many Americans and have only brought in less than $150 billion such that it cannot even pay the interest on our debt but hurts everyone but the 1%. No, it has not brought in the Trillions Dirty Dumb Donald says it has, and no one will see a $2,000 tariff refund check. Rolex, Ferrari, etc. all these that do elite stuff do not care about the masses, only the 1%, as such why even bother buying their mass-produced products when they do not give everyone a fair chance at the limited-edition stuff. Yet with all the bitching about various things with Porsche, one has to agree that they are pushing the edge of tech as @ccap41 pointed out. Top of the fast recharge list, plus wireless charging which is a game changer.
    • For me, cooking is a very trying and traumatic experience.  LOL.
