Bentley Plans A Even Faster Bentayga

      More speed? More speed.

Bentley tends to build even faster versions of their models which are denoted by the Speed nameplate. The Bentayga SUV is no exception to this.

Bentley design boss Stefan Sielaff confirmed to Autocar this week that the luxury automaker is working on a Bentayga Speed. The model will get “typical” styling changes Bentley makes when creating Speed versions - revised front end, wider fenders, rear diffuser, and wheels. Autocar reports that more power is expected for the W12 engine. The current engine produces 600 horsepower, so 650 to 700 horsepower isn't out of the question.

No time frame was given as to when the Bentayga Speed would appear. We're guessing 2020 at the earliest.

If Bugatti can get 1479hp & 1180 lb-ft of torque out of the W16 version of the motor, which equals 92.43HP per cylinder and 73.75 lb-ft of torque per cylinder, then why not make the Speed which has a W12 have 1,109.25 HP and 885 lb-ft of torque. This would be a worthy Speed engine! :P

Speaking of Bugatti, I wonder when they will get a mega expensive W16 SUV...they have the Urus as the 'supercar' SUV, the Bentyaga as the superluxury SUV, so they need a Bugatti 'hypercar' SUV..

If they did that it would be superior to anything Mercedes-benz has and SMK would be having fits. ;)

Bugatti should build a 250 mph SUV for sure.   Mercedes will let them have that one, they have a real race car team to do their performance bragging and a whole line of cars to worry about.

A Bentley Bentayga Speed makes sense, because someone will pay for it, so one billionaire can brag to the other billionaire that their Bentayga is a the sports model.   I think Bentley could do a Mulsanne based SUV for $400k also.  Then you really go after the elites, because someone out there wants to look down upon lowly Bentayga drivers.

Plus, Mercedes did trademark GLS73, so an 800 hp GLS could be on the way, Bentley has to do something.

Not all of the 1% want to brag about how much net worth they have with a half-million dollar SUV.  Many millionaires drive more common cars than you might think.  Only those who don't know better will spend way too much on this vehicle.

  • GMC Upsizes the Acadia for 2024; New 2.5L Turbo-4

GMC caused a stir in 2016 when it downsized the Acadia in 2017 from its previous near-Yukon length. That downsize brought the Acadia down to be inline in size with the contemporary Jeep Grand Cherokee.  In the years since, the Grand Cherokee has grown and GMC is matching that with the 2024 GMC Acadia. Inches matter in this class and in that the Acadia gains (back) 10.6 inches in length and 3.2 inches in height. That equates to 80% more space behind the third row and 36% more space behind th

Ford updates the 2024 F-150 with More Standard Power, More Hybrid Production, and a New Tailgate

Tonight at an event ahead of the Detroit Auto Show, Ford unveiled the updated 2024 Ford F-150. Starting in 2024, the F-150 will drop the base 3.3-liter naturally aspirated V6 in favor of the familiar 2.7-liter Ecoboost V6. This increases standard power across the line by 25 horsepower and a whopping 135 lb-ft of torque.  Additionally, citing a 28% increase in hybrid F-150 sales, Ford is increasing production of the hybrid powertrain to meet this demand. Ford expects to double the mix of hybrid a
