Page 10 in Hemmings said there will be dueling concepts at the NAIAS, the Challenger and the Camaro. Even after all the internet hype and inside info I wasnt convinced, I would still feel better if GM had made an official announcement but I hear maybe after the New Year due to that Canada mess. I dont care about retro, I just want at least the GTOs performance IRS and some sick styling. I really liked the leaked pictures. So it looks like many of us will get our wish soon and maybe GM will get some much needed positive press.

Went to the auto show today... GM had none of their new concepts, and only two '08 models --a Malibu LTZ and Enclave-- (no '08 CTS, '08 G8) on display. The Camaro concept was there in red, looks great in red. The Malibu and Enclave looked really, really good. The G6 convertible looks better in person, neat in top-up hardtop mode. The G6 GXP sedan, on the other hand...giant ugly grilles. Cadillac had some hotties talking up the cars. First of all, I'm sorry to say I have no pictures. I went with a friend of mine and it was pushing his attention span as it was, and I didn't want to try his patience waiting to get that perfect angle. However, I saw a decent amount of metal so I'll write up my text impressions here: Ford Fiesta: I was never too agog over the Fiesta, but it was nice to see one in person. The sedan was quite ungainly I think; it was definitely not designed with a notchback in mind, much like the Versa. A jellybean with creases. Lovingly restored by Howard Kroplick right here on Long Island where it won the famed 1909 and 1910 Venderbilt Cup Races. It then went on in 1911 to race in the first Indianapolis 500. I went to the Denver show this evening... wandered around for a couple hours. Random impressions: Saw a Bugatti Veyron for the first time in person. Wild. Loved the burgundy Quattroporte w/ creamy leather. The Aston Vantage looks incredible in person. The Challenger concept looked great, though the A-pillars are awfully thick. The Imperial is huge and strange looking... Sitting in the Impala SS, I realized the 'Like A Rock' slogan describes the lower dash plastics perfectly..
