Reviews: 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer

Posted Image

We expect the new Lancer to accomplish two goals when it arrives in March. First, it will convince economy-sedan buyers that Mitsubishi is once again a serious player in this segment. Second, it will convince hard-core enthusiasts that all the hype surrounding the Lancer Evolution X is fully justified. These are critical steps on the road to recovery for Mitsubishi. Fortunately, the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer appears to be robust enough to stand up to just this kind of pressure.

Looks great, sounds great... No reason it shouldn't do great.

I agree. While the interior may not stand up to the Mazda3, I perfer the exterior design of the Lancer over the 3. Meaner, more attitude, more expression. I hope Mitsu gives it some more power, as well. The new Outlander and Lancer are very competitive vehicles and Mitsu needs to treat them like so.

heck, its better looking than the civic. its got a nice warranty too.

i think if they can attract even a modest percentage of the 'must have Japanese' crowd that dislikes the civic and is simply tired of the Mazda3 and loathes toyota, they should make enough sales.

i just hope they put crash protection into this version.
