Stupidest exam questions

Recommended Posts

Another thread just reminded me of a really dumb question I got as part of a Popular Music elective.

A listening question. They played a track from Metallica (can't remember which one, not a single).

This is:

a. The Rolling Stones

b. Metallica

c. Nirvana

d. AC/DC

That's probably the first time I've laughed out loud in an exam.

I remember the first question on my government HSA (High School Assessment, a state-mandated test administered as part of No Child Left Behind) from last year.

1. What is the role of a jury in a criminal trial?

a--To inform the public, via the media, on the proceedings of the trial

b--To make sure that the judge overseeing the trial remains impartial

c--To reach a verdict as to the guilt or innocence of the accused, based on the facts presented during the trial

d--To grade the attorneys' performance

It is common knowledge that the HSAs are complete jokes, written by people who are barely proficient in spelling and basic grammar, let alone the subject you're being tested in.

I was taking a skills assessment test the counselors at school were giving out for people to see what kinds of careers should people should go into and one of the questions was:

"Do you enjoy sitting in towers watching for forest fires?"

:scratchchin:

PCS raises hand for the answer - Forest Ranger or Smokey Bear.

It was probably "Blackened"...I have found music teachers (especially, music appreciation teachers and the like) typically play that song. Usually for the intro/crescendo.

Blackened Is the End

Winter it Will Send

Throwing All You See

Into Obscurity

Death of Mother Earth

Never a Rebirth

Evolution's End

Never Will it Mend

Never

Fire

To Begin Whipping Dance of the Dead

Blackened Is the End

To Begin Whipping Dance of the Dead

Color Our World Blackened

Blistering of Earth

Terminate its Worth

Deadly Nicotine

Kills What Might Have Been

Callous Frigid Chill

Nothing Left to Kill

Never Seen Before

Breathing Nevermore

Never

Fire

To Begin Whipping Dance of the Dead

Blackened Is the End

To Begin Whipping Dance of the Dead

Color Our World Blackened

Blackened

Opposition

Contradiction

Premonition

Compromise

Agitation

Violation

Mutilation

Planet Dies

Darkest Color

Blistered Earth

True Death of Life

Termination

Expiration

Cancellation

Human Race

Expectation

Liberation

Population

Lay to Waste

See Our Mother

Put to Death

See Our Mother Die

Smoldering Decay

Take Her Breath Away

Millions of Our Years

In Minutes Disappears

Darkening in Vain

Decadence Remains

All Is Said and Done

Never Is the Sun

Never

Fire

To Begin Whipping Dance of the Dead

Blackened Is the End

To Begin Whipping Dance of the Dead

Fire

Is the Outcome of Hypocrisy

Darkest Potency

In the Exit of Humanity

Color Our World Blackened

Blackened

Excellent Song!
