Ford GT vs. Z06 on Detroit freeways

Featured Replies

Perhaps the greatest (and most dangerous) street race I've ever watched....two British-sounding guys in an '06 Z06 take on a Ford GT on metro Detroit freeways during lunchtime traffic. Speeds up to 160 mph. There are so many times where it could have just ended for one of them....just one little lane change by a passing motorist and it's over. Does anyone from Detroit know if this race made the police scanner or the local news?

I wouldn't exactly call that road 'open.' The guy in the GT was driving like an assclown, pure and simple. Others were being more reasonable.

Watch the road and you'll see why many of us hate Michigan streets.

"Open road" means no cars on the road. Those involved were both driving like a couple of ass clowns. One mistake and there woulda been "collateral damage".

Uncool.

Open road, late at night, no problems as far as I'm concerned.

Why would this make the news? There's no carnage.

Yep, isn't that the truth. I'm surprised that there is not more sink holes....

And as far a speed, I consider that normal speeds around here.

I was in a buddy's Malibu on 94, going about 80 when we were passed by a Mustang like we were standing still....

Thanks for teh vids - can't help to praise the cars and the driver's skills... but how close to an accident were they....
