Lordsrown starting 3rd shift earlier

Recommended Posts

With all the cuts GM has anounced here is some good news.

GM anounced Lordstown is moving up the start up time for the 3rd shift to August. Sales for the Cobalt are up 17% so they want to get more cars to the dealers sooner.

Indeed. We can't keep them in stock. FYI, the G5/Cobalt twins are the #2 selling compact cars in Canada right now, even outselling the venerable Mazda 3 and the new Corolla.

The Cobalt and G5 are nice cars in coupe form but in sedan form it is ugly.

Small-car sedans aren't exactly known for style and flair. Heck, the Civic is brutal in 4-door form. It would seem most cars with a sense of style tend to provide more form than function. The Mazda 3 has some nice visual features, but you can't expect every car maker to hit on a trend-based design and make it work for everyone.

It's too bad the Civic hatches aren't sold in NA...they look 1000% better than the dull sedan version, IMHO.

They anounced today that they will add 1400 jobs at Lordstown. Good news for the Youngstown area.

I hope other plants note that the UAW has bee working with GM there as they know it is in their best interest.
