Enzora's made-up word of the day

Enzora

I enjoy making up words, so there may be further installments, but we'll see how this one goes first.

Original word: anachronism--something out of chronological order, that belongs in a different era. Example: Moses wearing a wristwatch in "The Ten Commandments."

Enzora-fied word: anachromism--something that is of a color that would not be seen as logical. Example: Automakers choose bright/flashy colors for sporty cars, but due to cost-effectiveness, put it on all other models as well. Which creates......

Bam! Teal minivan!

(Special thanks go out to Croc and razoredge for inspiring my thought on the meaning of the word root "chrom.")

Got one for you.

This colour belonged on the GP, but not the CTS. They no longer offer it.

You sure? The CTS debuted that color, and I remember that my local dealership debuted the CTS in that color, as well as the local autoshow that year... "Copper Sunburst" was the name... Edited by Croc

I know it is no longer available, but the color was made for the CTS, costs were spread out by offering it on the GP...and it was discontinued on the CTS.

I was just saying it was FIRST on the CTS.

I don't think that color on the CTS is an anachromism...bright color, but CTS is def sporty and wasn't used as a cost spreader anyway.

I like coining words also..

I coined one at work a couple years ago...and have other people using it--'actionize'... as in 'the resources are actionizing on their tasks'.

(i.e. the developers are working on their tasks).

A related word is 'actionizable'..i.e. a task is actionizable if you can work on it..

Actionizable is derived from 'actionable', which I heard Colin Powell use on CNN a few years ago.

Another one I use is 'blorch', though I think it was used in Calvin and Hobbes years ago... 'blorch' is the nasty stuff you cough up when you have a bad cold or sore throat.
