Odd and kinda funny to see the deployed airbags under the hood of the green '59 Pontiac. I guess the technology was there before they found a useful reason for it.

I suppose '60 is not a bad car for its time, its just very un-Pontiac. There used to be a decent powder blue and white (I think) '60 hardtop that used to crop up for sale from time to time... not in bad shape... but it just is not a design I am too fond of.

Shoot, the '59 was the first year for what we now call a traditional, split Pontiac grille. It went away for one year since, 1960, and even then, the split is incorporated into the grille, with its V-shaped standout center section. I've always preferred the '60 Pontiac to the '59 because it's so cleeeean, a rarity that early in the 60's.

Nice collection. I like B-60s but would never own one and betray the undying love I harbor for B-59s. For most, the hardcase love affairs fall in either/or camps.

I have always liked P-59s, a ex-buddy had one. P-60s aren't bad, but as so low on Pontiac funkiness, I dunno if I would ever go for one. Maybe a nice Bonne coupe...

I like the B-59s. I just wish the front turn signals didn't look like afterthoughts. A '59 with a '60 bumper would look sweet, IMHO.

I do love the skegs on the '59 Pontiac bumpers, and I love that the '76 and '77 LeMans brought them back. Ahhhh... Pontiac.

How come there are so many old, relatively rust-free cars in Canada? Do you guys just plow, without using salt? Do you have low humidity?

Southern Alberta (where I live and where these cars are) is a relatively dry place. We may have long cold winters but they are more manageable because it's a dry cold. Despite our harsh winters we get 1/3 the precipitation that Philadelphia gets in an average year.

Also we use a lot of gravel on the roads but compared to most cities we don't use a whole lot of salt. We only put down salt when there has been recent precipitation and the temperature of the road is between 0* and -5*, anything colder than that and it's a 96% Gravel 4% Salt mix.
