Opel/Vauxhall News: Rumorpile: PSA Group Puts Opel/Vauxhall Flagship SUV On Hold

Opel and Vauxhall are currently in the process of working on a new business plan for their new owner, PSA Group. Already, it seems one project has been suspended. 

Auto Express has learned from sources that plans for a flagship SUV have been shelved for the time being. Possibly named Monza, the model would use the Insignia platform and be around the size of a Ford Edge. It seems PSA Group is putting a freeze on various projects that are related in some form to Opel/Vauxhall's former owner, General Motors. Whether or not the Monza is canned or moved to a platform from PSA Group remains to be seen. One thing is clear, changes are already happening.

Totally agree, I would not be surprised to hear most of the current projects that are not 50% or more along in the process to market are delayed as they rework the launches to use PSA platform as they retire GM platforms.

Yeah, and knowing they are going more toward EV in the future-in house makes much more sense. And gives them some wiggle room too to change their mind .....

Makes me wonder what was still in the Opel pipeline far enough along that it will still be GM related.

Also: Insignia platform + Edge sized = GMC Acadia. The C platform (Acadia) is the crossover variant of the E platform (Insignia).
