See anything a bit different about this Astra? (this is the Vauxhall version, and the difference isn't that it's a Vauxhall)

Look closely....

I like it - make it a Saturn!

Found it here:

BTW, one article I found on it said that it holds up as well as or better than a regular metal roof. Also good to note is that there is a shade that slides down to give cover over the extended part, and it looks like there are sun shades on it, so you wouldn't have to be blinded. :)

It's not a new option, it's been around for quite a while now. The Panorama option has been publicized since the GTC was introduced and was previewed by the GTC Geneve concept. AutoWeek even used the Panorama Roof version to illustrate it's article on the Astra coming to Saturn.

Nice idea, I want one too, but I can't imagine the glass replacement costs if I accidently smash it...

the insurance companies in the US will make sure it doesn't arrive here

This is one of the things wrong with the American auto industry.

That would suck if just one part of the whole thing would need to be replaced...

Cool idea though. Nice interior too.

nice, but would be better in a 2 seater

This option should be available on the ION-replacing Astra in the U.S., and this option has indeed been around for a while.

Noted it on German Car Fans site in early 2005 in a press release by Opel.
