  1. Well, turns out grandpa’s tires were a combo platter of mismatched brands and a front tire that had gone rogue inside to make the car pull badly. Grandpa always bought cheap tires that were recommended by the tire store and then didn’t rotate often, etc. With the pulling and tire noise and horrible winter traction we upped for a new set of four tires. Goodyear WeatherReady “all weather”. I like snow tires but who knows how long we will have this car. So, the idea of year round tires was more appealing. Normally I avoid Goodyear’s like the plague (yes you will be able to get one good year out of them) but I read enough good reviews from articles and actual owners that I figured I would give them a go. 20 feet with the new tires and it was evident the huge improvement. The old tires still had half tread. The drive home was amazing in comparison. Actual ability to steer and stop. Wow. We’ll have to see if these stay good over time.

  3. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/quebec-narrowly-misses-goal-of-100000-electric-vehicles-on-the-road-1.5856007 Since the Quebec government's big push of promoting EVs in 2012, 92 000 new EVs have been sold. The target was 100 000. Narrowly missing the target. Still a success though and more and more Quebecois are accepting an all EV future. And a little tidbit of info and concerns for EVs from a Quebec perspective. Same ones we have been discussing here at CheersandGears.

  4. Ready for the year to be over. Think we really need a fresh start for 2021.... As crazy as it has been- like anything else it has it’s share of good and bad. Just a crazy amount of drama......

  5. Not sure if I had posted anything on the car we inherited from Grandpa last December. 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix. He gave it to us last December and then his health quickly declined and he passed away in January this year. He must have known something was up. He was 93. He had still been driving it occasionally up until about 6 months before he died. we did put a bunch of money into misc things and right now it’s throwing a check engine light. Emissions related, they tell me. It’s the venerable 3800 motor. Runs great! Got a fresh oil change today. So I figured what the heck and got it washed for my daughter as well. A few months ago we got a full interior and exterior detail as well. Somehow, we figured out how to get rid of the many years of cigarette smell. It still looks great, so I thought I would throw up some pictures.

  6. I wish I could give you two emoji's as it is sad your phone died, but your story telling made me laugh. Wishing you all the Best Blu as you get a new phone to start 2021 off with.

  7. Wife’s cousin gifted her a 1936 Colonial brand grandfather clock. Been here about 3 years, I think. It chimes beautifully, but only ever runs about 7 mins at a time. Hasn't been serviced in probably decades. Every once in a while I set it going to hear it chime a quarter hour. RIght now, it's been running about 18 hours straight. ?

  8. The interior is where the IS and RC really fall short. I feel like it hasn't changed in 10 years and I don't think it was that good 5-10 years ago either. That interior is a lot of plastic and Toyota switchgear. The engine sounds good in the video, but it too is really dated. You can tell Lexus is just letting their sedans die on the vine, like they did with the GS. The IS/RC will probably be gone in a year or two and they'll keep the ES around since it is an Avalon/Camry and they will probably keep the LS even if it doesn't sell just to have a flagship. I think the M440i might even outperform the RC F at this point. Probably why Toyota went to BMW to make the Supra.

  10. Not sure how I feel about that....nor will it help that poor thing. It would be like outfitting our Trax like that- barely enough power to get over a rock..... ?

  11. My perfectly reliable LG Terra took its last breath today. One side of the hinge had been broken for a couple of months, today it fell out of my pocket while I was looking at a customer's car onto the parking lot, severing its spinal cord. I've had it since August of 2015. *moment of silence*
