A shame about both the GNs. They were both sharp looking rides but the GNX badging where it doesn’t belong almost kills it.

I like the Shelby in that blue w/ white stripes.

Of what I can see, I might go for the '67 Dodge.

A lot of car spotting today. There is a little local car show here every second Saturday a month (during the warm months). Some nice rides out there but I could only get a few pics because I was working at a shop on that very street today. Some more... I also just realized that I posted this on the June thread instead of the July thread. F***! Oh well.

Came out of the ophthalmologist office and saw 4 black SUVs in a row (my Jeep was the only one there when I went in). The TrailBlazer on my right was in good shape. Later at a light saw this faded '65 Riviera and a bright red/white '57 Chevy Bel Air Sports Sedan.

I cherrypicked the GM ones I liked the most. Love that Regal '84 (onward) coupe silhouette, the new Corvette, that bright yellow F-Bird or Camaro (can't tell) which, with the wraparound rear back lite, tells me it's a '74 and above, from which there appears to be a downsized Cadillac convertible across the street. Nice. For GM's pony cars, '75 and '76 were my favorite years. I created the above problem by finally posting some photos seen in June on this thread and waking it up.

Reminds me, saw a clean black '86-87 Monte Carlo SS yesterday.

Its true....there IS something about those Buicks in black. While the potent powertrain does play a factor, that BUICK body style lends itself quite beautifully and quite menacingly in black. MORE so than its other corporate siblings. Even the Cutlass Supreme doesnt quite match the charisma that a Black Regal GN or GNX has.

Thats kind of my thing. Yes, I was bummed it wasn’t a legit GNX but both of those cars were restored to almost new and there is just something about those in black.

I enlarged the pic to try to see those ventiports, didnt see them. I also noticed that on the side fenders, the turbo Grand National emblem is present and there is no GNX logo on the front grill. I came to a correct conclusion. Unless of course its a clone Grand National. (I dont think so. Its probably a legit GN) But... maybe the the first black Buick Regal in the series could be a clone... @surreal1272 Its a shame for reasons you stated. Yes. But I dont mind stuff like that. I only care if the person that restored a classic, cloned it but passes it off as a legit trim and wants to sell it top dollar passing it off as a legit top dog model. Some clones are done exceptionally well. Especially with today's aftermarket and what is available to restorers to produce clones. If I had the cash flow to do such projects, as you guys know, I want a '70 442 or '73 T/A SD455. If I couldnt get my hands on an original, Id have to build one from whatever Cutlass or Firebird/Camaro I could get my hands on. And yeah...Id clone it as a '70 442 W-30 or '73 T/A SD455. There are plenty of aftermarket sources that would allow me to do that. Fenders. Front ends. Badging. And if the restoration job would be done by a professional (not by me), to the naked eye, it would fool even the very best. Documentation would be the ONLY thing that would reveal the truth about my cloned muscle car.

Correct- GNX's have VentiPorts.

That Grand National doesnt look like a GNX. I think its just a regular GN despite the front vanity license plate stating GNX. I would take that 1971 (Im assuming its a '71) orange with tan vinyl top Buick GS. In 2nd place would be that orange 2nd gen F-Body. I want to say its a Camaro. I wouldnt mind that '55 Chevy either.
