I dumped the office routine 21 years ago. But I also don't work out of my home; I work out of yours.2 points

This so called Tesla Insurance button alone even if I could fit into a Tesla would keep me from ever buying it. Talk about slow boat to hell control, why drive let alone own an auto if you want the company to control everything for you and you do not want to drive with responsibility. Slow Teslas everywhere: 24 hours into ‘the FSD button’, what is your Safety Score (Beta)? (electrek.co)1 point

Reviews are starting to come out and to say that the Rivian kicks the Raptors and TRX butts is to be expected by me, but seems to be a big surprise to the writers. I love working at home, easy commute, have my office so when I go in, all business. Leave it and my time. I do admit, the wife went crazy at first when my company in Feb 2020 went 100% work from home, but now that the whole company is 90% work from home, the other 10% are those that have to be on site and for the most part works best as it makes it much easier to get my work done, take time off when I need to for appointments, errands, etc. I honestly could not ever see myself going back to an office. I do miss the social interaction, but I do get plenty of that online via Zoom meetings, Slack Huddles and rarely unless I am forced to use terrible Microsoft Teams. I will say this, I have a coworker who always wanted a trailer to go camping who finally bought one, set it up to be his remote office away from the house, but uses the house WiFi in 256 bit encryption mode and loves it. No wife, kids, animals to distract and he says it truly feels like going to the office since he has to physically leave his house and walk the 15 steps to the side slab where his new trailer is parked.1 point

Came across one of these in the wild today. It was a black one and appeared to be full production spec. We were on the road so I did not get a chance to check it out but it looked pretty good moving down the road. Wish I would have paid a little more attention to the size as I pulled up next to it at a light. It didn't seem any bigger than my Canyon from what I recall.1 point

LOL Yeah, I get the misanthropic part. Im a social butterfly, but sometimes I hate people too. Im a conflicted person that way. More often than not, I like to be around people and socialize. Strangely enough, I get energized with stupid people. I want to get away from them as far as possible, but I use that interaction to fuel my conversations with people I like to be around with. The restaurant business is perfect for my personality. Im always snacking at the restaurant. Food all around me all. the. time. Although when I do grab a french fry here and there, or a piece of bacon, or a slice of pepperoni or cheese or a hot dog, I do it discreetly, away from my staff and clients. (open kitchen) I go in the back to stuff my face and wash my hands immediately after. I noticed on my days off at home, I crave snacks. I cant concentrate. Its like I have ADHD or something. I need to put something in my mouth to taste it. Im addicted... Though at home, I have started to snack on fruits this past year. THAT has spilled over at work. Im snacking on less and less hotdogs and bacon and stuff. I have my wife has forced me to bring fruits to work to snack on those. And so I do. Grapes. Cantaloupe. Oranges, tangerines, clementines. Ive noticed that my belly has gotten less bloated by doing that and it seems like I have lost at least 5-7 lbs in the process as well. I no longer seem to have a gut. I guess its healthier to snack on fruits. Who knew?1 point

Yeah, it's not for everyone. Since my work product is in the cloud, and I'm fairly misanthropic, it works well for me. I'm able to focus albeit with taking periodic breaks.1 point

I dont think I could EVER work from home. Too many distractions that would keep me from doing my job. 1. TV 2. Internet 3. Refrigerator and stove and if Im lazy to cook, many many snacks. 4. My house is what I consider a place for me to relax and get away...from work. I could NEVER bring myself to marry my house with my job. Nope! Couldnt do it!1 point

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of yet another corrupted corporation. As the world turns, the guiding light that leads these corporations is greed and more greed. Its like these CEOs that run these companies act like they only have one life to live. Discarding all of our children's safety all in the name of everything that is wrong with too much money. They think they are bold and beautiful, but really, they are dumb and dumber. Hopefully justice could be served. Is he the only one that is going to be charged? Scapegoat? Or will others follow? No doubt that it seems like he is guilty, whether he is a scapegoat or not, but he definitely wasnt alone going rogue. He was encouraged by the rotten corporate culture that enveloped Boeing in the last decade or two. Remains to be seen what comes next.1 point

EDIT :: Wiki says the 3rd gen were used for the '39 World's Fair. eDIT :: The 2nd "Parade of Progress" unit is the 1st gen silver-top 1936 version. 8 were built. The "Previews of Progress" unit was built in '38, but I now think it was a single, additional unit to the '36s.1 point

I love the Futurliners. There were at least 3 versions; the style above was rebuilt from the 2nd generation and came out - apparently- in '41. Here's the initial 3rd gen version; GM modified the bubble roof for more shade due to driver's complaints of high heat in there. These are the other 2 versions; there's very little info on them out there. I think the 2nd one was how they looked in '39, but the first one -which looks older to me- is a dually, which seems to make it 'closer' the the '41. I believe the Futurliners were first build in '36. Would like to learn more about the earlier ones. I theorize that the 1st gen was rebodied into the 2nd, and the 2nd into the 3rd... meaning none of the 1st or 2nd gen exist.1 point

That's almost exactly what my computer wallpaper has been for the last year. I went a little lower key and did the silver wheels with no rear spoiler. Nice car! I don't remember the color green they had for 2020 but it was pretty sharp as well. Not normally a green car guy but it looked good. Found it. It was called Rally Green.1 point
