One hundred thousand dollars for a Bronco? If somebody buys that vehicle from this guy and dealership, then that buyer deserves to be taken advantage of. I understand that the dealership shouldnt be asking for these kinds of prices because its a ridiculous mark-up . But I also understand that dealerships could ask as much as they want because its their right as a business... (its been driven 301 miles so as to avoid FoMoCo disciplining them...) That doesnt mean a buyer HAS to buy it. I dont care how much in need one is for a vehicle...one DOES need to exercise restraint.3 points

If you’re street racing an EV in an IC, you don’t need launch control: the EV is spotting you a half minute head start.2 points

I get the right to sell it and I get the loophole their using. I’m not debating that. My point is that too many dealerships are dirty dealing scumbags with these kind of tactics. They will never move that Bronco for $100K though, not even in high dollar Raleigh. Sidenote, he is technically false advertising the sale. That Bronco is not “brand new” if it has 300 miles on it. The general rule of thumb is under 200 miles can be still considered “new”. Again, dealership and greed going hand in hand. I saw a similar dealership do this with the C8 with a $121K sticker only to see it see on the lot for five months and eventually dropped down to $100K. Karma is a indeed a bitch.2 points

Watching a Hummer EV vidoe [here: https://insideevs.com/news/537016/gmc-hummer-ev-wtf-scary/?fbclid=IwAR3HzEhhmfFbxiSHuaBZkw2v1ZeEeukzDKet93hB5vHaS11IoEBGAfy7-_k ] and while everyone ballyhoos how it's going to go 0-60 in about 3 secs, but........ .....no one talks about the TWENTY-EIGHT SECONDS it takes to get ready to utilize the WTF mode.2 points

$100K for this (nearly) new Bronco? That would only be acceptable for a fully loaded brand new Escalade. NO way am I paying that much when I should buy THREE of those at MSRP.2 points

Is it really a good thing to be #1 in shrinking segments? I think not. I have no idea when the crossover thing will pass or whether it is long-term trend, but I am not sure whether Toyota wants to be in shrinking segments. Remember: the Avalon dies after this model year.2 points

First of all, good luck find ANY Prius for under $30K much less $24K. Second, the 4 Runner routinely sells for around $50K so that’s not really not that far of a swing for folks looking to make the jump.2 points

^^^Yeah... All launch controls (regardless whether on ICEV or BEV) take that much time to program and engage.1 point

If FORD can have an F150 approaching $75K, why can't Toyota? It was not that long ago where $75K was Lincoln (and MB/BMW/Audi) territory.1 point

First off, Toyota brand doesn't have any $75,000+ vehicles except the Land Cruiser, which they are killing in the USA (I assume for a Lexus Version). Lexus then does have SUVs and the LS/LC up in that $75k+ range. But I can't imagine Toyota brand is really going to lose customers to Rivian, sure a handful, but it isn't like Toyota/Lexus sales are going to drop 10% because Rivian and Lucid arrive on market. Toyota is also a company of 366,000 employees and have $52 billion cash on hand. If the market demands a lifestyle electric SUV, I am sure they can come up with 1 or 7 of them if they want. Toyota is a very low risk taking, methodical company. Maybe that is good, maybe it isn't, but that is how they operate, and it has worked so far for them.1 point

Saw this just now on Facebook and it proves why I cannot stand dealerships and wish they all would take a damn hike. The guy who posted this is literally a salesman for Capital Ford in Raleigh (near me). For $100K, that better come with about ten kilos of the devils dandruff is all I’m going to say.1 point

You seemed to have glossed over a very important point I made: In the latest Rivian is no Tesla story on CNN Business, it is an interesting observation that many of the reservation holders have stated that they are waiting to replace their 4 Runner or Prius with a Rivian R1T or R1S auto. The down to earth approach of the CEO RJ, life style focus and environmental messages that feel sincere is what has driven people to pre-order the Rivian auto's. With production now in full swing, one has to wonder what Toyota will do as they loose customers to Rivian. Per that CNN story with interviews with actual people who have reservations / orders placed, it is VERY REAL that people who own 4 Runners and Prius auto's are trading them in for a Rivian. That is a Toyota loss. As @riviera74 clearly pointed out, being #1 in a shrinking market is NOT a good place to be. These are all signs we saw with GM leading up to it's bankruptcy. Ignoring the market, ignoring the customers, believing that the Executives know best. I personally think Toyota is in a dangerous situation and needs to wake up to what the world is asking for and that is not a drivable Hydrogen generic auto! Life Style BEVs are the future.1 point

I believe you're underestimating the people/companies backing Tesla and Rivian. I don't think Rivian is even close to be able to do this yet but they have the backing that if their vehicles do take off well, they could get in on that as well. If not, their partnership with Ford and Amazon could do the legwork.1 point

Is this the new Z06? It appears to be. It is said that General Motors posted this on Instagram today. https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a37755096/this-is-the-c8-corvette-z06-undisguised/ I like it. I like it better than the Stingray. I dont necessarily like this colour though, but I think if this is the new Z06, then its a smashingly good looking C8. I want to see how it looks in yellow with C8R cues on it. Interesting to see how much more aggressive the Z07 package would be on this as I dont see an aggressive rear spoiler nor aero canards and aero stuff in the front. Rear diffuser in the back? Center exhaust? Which Z06 will have all that? Is this the "base" Z06? Lots of questions still need to be answered and the questions above are still just about the exterior design and engineering choices and specs. Engine choice is still a mystery. And with the C8 side air vents being what they are, and how they and up helping gulp in more air for the C8R and now with this reveal, one visual I enjoy and appreciate very much on the Z06 is this cue: Very vintage American muscle car what Chevy designers did there. ? Very keeping the original inspiration of shark colour and loosely based looks. ?1 point
