  1. Quoting oneself is generally tacky. It isn't about the number of buttons, but rather the layout, size and placement of the buttons. A well-designed radio has been known to rocket a car to the top of consumer consideration because it's user-friendly. Complicated setups are the bane of the owner's existence, day in and day out. Why? EVERYONE uses the radio. It's too bad, because GM generally makes some of the best radios in the business. Their nav interface has won accolades in the press for its visual appeal and ease-of-use. My only consolation is that GM usually outfits cars with different radios for different regions. Hopefully that will be the case here.
  2. Good luck! So how are you handling your current property in Laguna?
  3. We need a revival of the LX5, stat.
  4. Invicta all the way.
  5. The other thing that gets me is that the front looks so Buick...like how is the Lacrosse front end going to look much different?
  6. That's an idea... They SHOULD be driven...my prom night involved binge drinking and almost blacking out, so they should not be behind the wheel of any car...
  7. Very disappointing. The rear looks especially tired. GM needs to redesign the rear decklid to remove the cheap plastic license plate insert and smoked reverse lamps. Those looked cheap in 2003 on the CTS and they look glaringly cheap on the XLR. The interior refresh sounds more promising, but overall this is a disappointment. I actually think it looks cheaper than it did before, overall.
  8. Abysmal interior. So cheap-looking. Why the multiple panels along the side of the console/center stack? I see two poorly-fitted panels when one would appear to suffice. I know it's pre-pro, but interior fit and finish is abysmal. I hope we get a different, less cheap-looking woodgrain trim. The Malibu interior looks much more upscale. Center console looks very plasticky and cheap. Like looking at it, I don't want to rest my elbow on there. The charcoal-colored universal dash upper and door panels looks sterile and cheap. C'mon GM...if you're going to go for universal upper dashes and door panels, pick a color that isn't so drab. Now, I like the exterior. The front looks very expensive, and the profile is fairly dynamic. I want to see the rear in person, because from the rear 3/4 angle it looks kinda droopy, but that isn't a tacked-on spoiler...so I gotta see how it all comes together in person. The large CHMSL looks good, though I want to ensure the whole thing lights up and not just a thin strip surrounded by acres of red surround. Exterior: B+ Interior: D Overall: C- "This is what we've been waiting for? Half-baked would be a compliment."
  9. I'm crazy possessive about my Aurora. I know how you feel. One of my best friends is getting his license soon, and part of me wants to help him out by taking him to a parking lot and all...but no I just can't do it.
  10. Vegas is just a clone of LA. Summerlin = Irvine on steroids. The Strip = Sunset Strip on steroids. It's just nuts.
  11. OK, so they delete body-colored power-adjustible side mirrors...and didn't replace them with anything? Hmmm...I can't imagine the listing for Lacrosse is complete, just like I can't see black side mirrors being introduced. Given other changes across the GM lineup, I'm gonna guess new side mirrors with integrated turn signals will be standard. Which is why it gets the 3.9L now.
  12. I like Silver Moss and other shades of muted silver-green. I was sad when the SRX lost that color a few MYs back...I think it was called "Sage Green Metallic" or something like that... And I was thinking more of the Ford Aspire than the Festiva, but hey that works too.
  13. Tahiti Green and Aqua Blue Metallic? What is this, 1991?
  14. Really, come to Southern California and we'll argue about it. NY isn't all that, though it's better than some places.

    So, smoking

Eisenhower had a 4 pack a day habit and quit cold turkey in the late 50s. Those were with those cigarettes and their higher nicotine levels back then.
  16. Agreed. C'mon Chris...are you this naturally naive or do you take some kinda pill for that? You give this guy access to your place, unsupervised, while you're in Vegas, and you're gonna wind up on Judge Judy trying to get some money back after he trashes the place--if he even makes good on the rent payment in the first place without a litany of excuses. Don't be a sugar daddy. Plus he has his friend in Newport to stay with.

    So, smoking

I haven't made use...he was playing Stevie Nicks the other day and I commented on it, and that's when he mentioned the connection.

    So, smoking

Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac fame?? Sidenote: one of my Fraternity brothers' mother handles the accounting for them, so they always get VIP tickets to Stevie/Fleetwood shows. How cool is that?

    So, smoking

I do that too. My habit should not be anyone else's habit unless they choose to.
  20. Indianapolis originally, but I got some sense and moved to Los Angeles. Can't imagine living anywhere else...

    So, smoking

Agreed. I would never smoke in a car. That $h! smells foul, after it's marinated in there on a hot summer day, and the film on the windows/windshield...yuck.
  22. They won't do it. They didn't do it for the SRX, they won't do it for the CTS wagon. I also fully expect it to have a more traditional greenhouse.
  23. I need cupholders. And a lot of them. It's funny, the biggest complaint I have with my 2001 Aurora is the poorly-designed cupholders (they let condensation fall on the console right where the seat heater switches are). It's not a huge annoyance, but one of those "geez, how was this not caught during testing?" issues. That said, considering that's my biggest complaint with the thing, it's a damn good car.

    So, smoking

Stevie Nicks has quite a voice :AH-HA_wink:
  25. It's certainly more distinctive.
