  1. I see no reason why sliding rear doors cannot be engineered into the Lambdas as an option. Most of the platform engineering has already been done, so wouldn't it be reasonable for the Lambdas (yes, including a Chevrolet variant) to allow either swinging or sliding rear doors? GM needs a minivan...and as for their not understanding the segment, well Lutz sure does since he was at Chrysler. That's ONE person who gets it.
  2. OK So clearly this is Hyundai's Aztek or REV...but dammit I like it!
  3. seriously...what the hell??
  4. Won't happen. California has a massive car culture, and it is not uncommon to see many classic vehicles around in pristine condition. The "throwaway" notion will not fly for this reason and also because it will be seen as socially monstrous to force the poor to buy new cars every 5 years...rich prolly won't like it either because what happens? Buy a car, use it for five years, buy a new car give old one to your kids.
  5. I like the front, though the headlights are too Infiniti, and I love the rear. My biggest problem is the bulbous and pregnant-looking profile. It just lacks definition. The side sculpting should be more muscular and defined. It just looks out of shape...NOT good.
  6. Sciguy: I think those are rear foglamps. +1 for Saturn.
  7. OK in light of the new pictures: LIKES: General exterior styling. I think it looks good, much better than the fixed-roof version and certainly an improvement over the outgoing model. Top down is much better than top up, of course. Interior design is superb. Trunk space looks generous. DISLIKES: Awkward roof panel seams when top up. Interior materials look like typical Mopar $h!. Rear seating area looks stark and rubbermaid. C'mon Chrysler, this isn't the 90s and your parent company is making the difference between the Tristar and Wings way too apparent.
  8. Point taken. I think the XLR works it because it only needs a 2-piece top. To me, all the seams for the different panels just ruin the rooflines, but since the XLR shares the panel seam with the door cutline, it looks a hell of a lot better.
  9. It takes a minute to get the hang of it, but after that it's pretty cool.
  10. For some reason I like the interior better than in the currently-released AURA...but I don't know why as it looks the same. Are there some subtle tweaks I missed? Maybe I just hate the fake wood enough that the metallic trim looks that much better to me...but for some reason it seems different from the XE too? I dunno...maybe it's the lighting.
  11. Except for what Harley mentioned above, I like it!! I think it looks better than the Antara, which was way more ho-hum than I would have liked. This looks somewhat sexy, and I don't find the profile odd at all.
  12. In a color that isn't the same as the color of the rubber molding, please. I think sciguy is getting at the fact that the panel seams look bad in COLOR.
  13. I don't dislike it. I'll wait to see it in person.
  14. The lighting in this photo is the worst I have seen in years...you can barely make out any of the bodylines with all the glare from the sunset. BAD FORD!!
  15. Same, the spy photos were very promising-looking...but no it looks like a clay model. Very unfinished and lacking any surface detail.
  16. You are.
  17. Just beautiful.
  18. The current DTS interior is pretty nice. This one is a little nicer, but the different color combination is what makes it look so much more elegant.
  19. Breathtaking interior.
  20. The way the wood is around the vents looks so after-market. This car needs the Chinese interior, STAT! The wood does remind me of the kind in my father's old 1990 Fleetwood...
  21. No, it doesn't make the rest of us "look bad" as The Lounge is off-limits to guests.
  22. Hi, enzl. See, if you look at the top of the screen, you will see this thread is in "The Lounge." If you don't like it then stay out of it, but that is where the non-car posts go. It's a pretty simple concept.
  23. Wait...he left? Didn't notice...how long ago?
  24. WOW is all I can say...I couldn't tell the difference until I read the other posts pointing them out (except for the tray tables, overhead console and full-length console...duh those were gonna be gone)
  25. We know GM is developing diesels for the US. My question is how are these going to be released? Will they be launched just in new models and MCEs, or will they be made available for all models that can take them ASAP? The reason I am asking this is that my ideal vehicle would be an SRX, and I am wondering the probability that GM would release a diesel version of it as the engine becomes available, especially since its future is in doubt. I want to be green as well as plan for the future (diesel engines can switch to biodiesel fuel with no problem, whereas a gasoline engine making a fuel switch needs modifications).
