  1. The wood is real, and looks it. I have sat in one. What hard brittle plastic are you referring to? I saw none, and trust me I tapped and caressed the dash for several minutes looking for flaws; I found none. The plastic is actually soft-touch and has a nice matte, low-gloss sheen to it. I found NOTHING wrong with the plastic. I also sat in a LaCrosse, and if you honestly think it has better plastics, you are crazy. I'm sorry, but there is just no cheap plastic in the Lucerne on the center stack!
  2. I was thinking of a dark brown wood, actually. The ash/grey wood in the Milan is classy IMO, but it's more European than American, something the LaCrosse isn't trying to be.
  3. If you don't need it, then don't buy it. Simple as that.
  4. Chris, just smile and nod, smile and nod...
  5. Well he's dying. I don't know how I feel exactly. I'm for the death penalty in instances where there is zero doubt (not beyond reasonable...there cannot be ANY doubt whatsoever in a death penalty case IMO)...but at the same time I am wrestling with the ethical implications of the prosecution arguing that someone should die on the appeals. To me, that almost seems like advocating legal murder. I dunno if I'm articulating this clearly...but I have no problem with the death sentence being handed out...I just don't know how I feel that on appeal the prosecution was actively advocating the death penalty...It would be so much easier for my mind if it were just the defense arguing against it and the judge making a decision to overturn or uphold the sentence based on the arguments. Actively advocating for someone's death just seems wrong to me...
  6. Remember, the CC was cancelled most likely due to low sales and because 1993 was the intro year for the B-body Fleetwood. The plant capacity in Arlington, TX had to come from somewhere...
  7. Buick really should have decided light or dark though with the plood. This orange sh!t just reeks of compromise. If they had been avant-garde and gone for an uber-blonde wood, it could have looked almost scandinavian inside (with the exception of the roundish center stack console shape). Had they gone for a dark plood, it would look clasically american. as of now, it just looks like trashy american cheese.
  8. Overall package? 2000s for sure. Ride and handling is the best across the industry as it has ever been, more features are standard than ever before, safety is better than ever, and value is better than ever. Plus I love the styling!
  9. Truer words have yet to be spoken regarding this "Plan."
  10. No, no, no...the Impala doesn't have orange wood. I'm pretty sure you can't tick an option for it, either :P
  11. me too. nice reference for that good 80s ad campaign, too!
  12. You really dig that pumpkin spice-orange wood, don't you?
  13. I'm a fan of the current CL as well...oh well, looks like they are addressing the rear headroom concerns by making the roof much less sleek. Pity.
  14. the post title specifically said "not the Bravada"
  15. The initial post said "class-leading."
  16. I haven't. But the interior is damn amazing, and is best in class, at least until the GMT-900s. F-150 is also the #1 truck by sales. It also looks the best IMO.
  17. Adam Sandler - Chanukah Song The Waitresses - Christmas Wrapping
  18. You might have an air leak around a door seal, but my M-Class has a bit of wind noise too. The 2007 Tahoe promises less via a slicker windshield, but your 06 has the more upright windshield of the GMT-800s. Without more information, I cannot say if the noise is inherent to the design or not.
  19. No, it has good reliability. It lacks tight panel fits, interior plastics of a higher grade than Fisher-Price toys, good interior design, etc. Plus, it's dead! Just give it up, already!
  20. Producing quality DOES ensure job security to the extent that producing quality means that people will want to BUY GM and that contributes to the financial security of GM and when GM is financially secure, job cuts are less likely. Duh
  21. I could agree with this list with the exception of the pickups. F-150 is better, but the corresponding SUVs are better at GM. I'll accept Lucerne though I think it is missing a lot of features it should have. DTS? No. Lucerne is better than it, so DTS cannot be classleading since they really compete in the same class.
  22. I see more Terra in the mule than the Yukon.
  23. My vote goes to the F-150 in that market...but with the GMT-900s I'm sure I'll change my mind.
  24. hahahahahahaha of COURSE the UAW wants to place all the blame on Wagoner and not take any responsibility for themselves. Good lord, I hope you didn't consider that an "astute observation."
