  1. Still looks better than the Leaf and more on par with the Bolt.
  2. Nice write up, thanks for sharing. 2019 Ford Edge ST AWD feeling like your in your 2009 one!
  3. I think it is a wash between a kit car built and a rusty used mustang.
  4. True, but then you have to find one. One on the dealership lot north of Seattle with 199,000 plus miles and one a couple hundred miles away with 48,000 plus miles but that is it. If I go across the country, using autotrader, I only find 37 hybrids available for sale from $34,500 at 95,000 plus miles to $5,795 with 254,000 plus miles. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/Used+Cars/Hybrid/Cadillac/Escalade/Mountlake+Terrace+WA-98043?listingTypes=USED&searchRadius=0&zip=98043&startYear=1981&endYear=2020&marketExtension=true&makeCodeList=CAD&modelCodeList=ESCALA&fuelTypeGroup=HYB&sortBy=derivedpriceDESC&numRecords=25&firstRecord=0 There are a few below 50,000 miles, but I have to wonder if they are gremlins of electrical or accident rebuilds. Be interesting, but sadly they are all of the horrid second generation which had the seats that would not go flat against the floor so I could fit without having to recline the bloody seat which I hate. Have to wait for the EV Escalade of 2021.
  5. Good thing we all have a hard time relating humor, sarcasm, etc. in our writing. Pretty much no matter what, in today's global market, you cannot survive by being in only a single narrow focus area as to why Bentley is no longer single, MB has moved into the Toyota/Chevrolet market, pretty much every asian auto company now has entered the luxury segment. Anyone that thinks any one brand is the best or Luxury of the world is delusional in not acknowledging the multiple brackets of entry to ubber luxury to optimize profits.
  6. I thought it just got cut off coming out of the squeeze tube. I have to say from the front, looks like a bullet train. I actually like the frontal look, rear needs work, but AWD EV is pretty cool looking as a starting point. I actually think this looks better than the Leaf or Bolt.
  7. I would consider buying it for $12,500
  8. When gas was $5 a gallon during our Depression of 2007 to 2012 in Washington state, the state made it a requirement for any company with 500 or more employees had to provide mass transit bus passes. As such, I went from daily driving to only driving with the wife for errands, projects, working out. We went from 30,000 miles a year on two auto's to just about 15-16,000 miles a year. Since you all know I only have full size SUV's and a couple mid size, even with my SS only getting 12 miles per gallon, it would have to hit $15.00 a gallon for me to give up the SS or Escalade and even then I doubt it since everything is paid for and in perfect working order. At this point with so many EV options coming on the market over the next 18 to 24 months, I will be buying EV in the future. Excited as Rivian will have a look and see show on September 27th here in Seattle. Hoping to get a chance to actually try out the interior and see how I fit.
  9. QUESTION: ?‍♂️ How tall are you as I was in an audi a few years back but have not been in these specific models recently, so at 6'6" tall space is a premium and I will take comfort over sportiness. My normal test is to set the drivers seat for my comfort and get out and see if I can get in the seat behind me, cause then anyone would be pretty comfortable if they can. So how tall are you and can someone sit behind you? ?
  10. True and your right it is worse now, but ignoring that ugly mark, I do still like the over all station wagon vibe.
  11. 2002 Ford Cougar rebuilt as a Replica 2012 Bugatti for $125,000 https://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/d/winter-springs-2012-bugatti-veyron/6967909699.html Still has the original Cougar V6
  12. Gotta love how fast the Europeans are adding Hot Hatchbacks AWD EVs.
  13. I know people have not been impressed with the New V series so far, but over at the Cadillac Society, someone took the latest CT5-V and made a station wagon and I have to say they have some photoshop skills. I like what i see. http://cadillacsociety.com/2019/09/13/cadillac-ct5-v-wagon-rendering-has-us-drooling/
  14. Seems Benz is rolling out the info, pictures and videos on all things Hybrid and EV. https://media.daimler.com/marsMediaSite/en/instance/ko.xhtml?oid=44347800&relId=1001&resultInfoTypeId=172&ls=L2VuL2luc3RhbmNlL2tvLnhodG1sP29pZD00ODM2MjU4JnJlbElkPTYwODI5JmZyb21PaWQ9NDgzNjI1OCZib3JkZXJzPXRydWUmcmVzdWx0SW5mb1R5cGVJZD00MDYyNiZ2aWV3VHlwZT10aHVtYnM!&rs=4#toRelation So this shows their family being 10 Plug-in Hybrids now. Lots of details released in the last 24hrs. https://media.daimler.com/marsMediaSite/en/instance/ko/Start.xhtml?oid=4836258 Common thread I am seeing in all 10 Hybrids is their 2ft wide by 10 inch high or what seems like that big dash screen.
  15. Like a Blacker than Black auto? BMW has painted their X6 in the blackest black available. The auto only returns 1% reflection. https://carbuzz.com/news/blacker-than-black-bmw-x6-wont-avoid-the-police Yes LiDar can still see it.
  16. WOW, some of the info is surprising but clearly quality is not in the BEST Category of their Best or Nothing as it clearly is in the Nothing Category! QUOTE: Surprisingly, the study found that the car with the highest recall rate in America is the Mercedes C-Class. According to the study, the luxury car "has been recalled for a host of safety issues, from several different recall campaigns involving airbags to multiple campaigns involving failure in the steering column." Another campaign required the C-Class to be recalled because the sunroof had been improperly bonded to the frame, which meant there was a risk it could fall on passengers. Like the fact that they also related the recall list which by the way has Mercedes-Benz and BMW claiming the top spots for recalls followed by the GMC Sierra and of course everyone else both domestic, Asian and the rest of the German broads. What I found interesting in the read is that the Toyota 4Runner has such high reliability from Consumer Reports but is for it's class at the top of the recall list. How does Recalls and Reliability go................. Also very ? funny that at least for me, both Toyota and MB have ads on the story page to try and sell you said auto's.
  17. Wile Tomato juice works for animals, I have heard from others that Freebreeze works well for skunk in an auto. I have always used the following for external: Skunk ordor is hard but not impossible to get rid of. Measure and pour the distilled vinegar into a garden sprayer. Add liquid dish detergent to the garden sprayer. ... With the garden sprayer, begin spraying underneath and all around the car. Repeat one hour later if the smell remains. There is also the Amazon option, never used any of them but lots of spays / solutions. https://www.amazon.com/Natures-Miracle-Remover-Neutralizing-Formula/dp/B000NJJKCM/ref=asc_df_B000NJJKCM/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=218421090408&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7157794200968826516&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9033284&hvtargid=pla-353328822856&psc=1
  18. Hope they come to terms sooner rather than later on this. Glad to read that Lordstown will reopen as a battery assembly plant and the EV pickup truck will go to Detroit-Hamtrack.
  19. Loving my new head unit with google maps. Be it standard or satellite maps, this is the standard all auto companies should offer. Even audio texting is great. Should have upgraded earlier than this. Worth the money.
  20. Maybe trying to give you some sunshine during heavy snow days? ?
  21. I would take that Euro NCAP testing with a Grain of salt. This from the same agencies that for years did not test properly to see if cheating software was being used in Diesel auto's, Acid rain that is destroying forests all across Europe and only got caught as the US market was questioning the results they got and decided to have 3rd party Universities look in to suspect results and BOOM, all blows up to billions of dollars of fines for them. What else is MB hiding in these Toyota / Chevrolet equal FWD appliances that MB sells? ??
  22. How does things like this get through manufacturing and not noticed that a lube point is not being lubed.Pathetic.
  23. Agree that GM should have continued to make and branch out with the Supercharged and Turbo charged SS engines. No, I do not see it as trolling but stating the obvious that @smk4565 continues to ignore. MB is no longer and has not been for the last couple of Decades a Luxury only auto company. With the amount of Taxis they produce and sell on the E platform which is all hard plastic city to the FWD A-Class. MB which was originally seen only as a luxury auto company has changed to be a global cheap to ubber luxury auto company and as such being compared to Toyota, Chevrolet, Hyundia, etc. is to be expected and warranted.
  24. Just accept that Mercedes is NOT a Luxury auto only company, but have changed into the Toyota/GM/ just about any other auto company with making cheap to expensive auto's that cover a wide range of income categories. You cannot be a luxury auto maker only when you are making JCPenny's priced products too.
