  1. I totally disagree with you on the Sprinter TD van. Sadly my brother inlaw who has an appliance service business has replaced all of them less than 5 years old due to high maintenance cost, breakage constantly compared to the Ford vans he replaced them with. Sprinters are not reliable as MB would like to make them out to be. I hope their EV van is far better. CNG converted vans have been proven to totally offset the high conversion price at 15K miles a year in service compared to gas or diesel. EV's will do the same thing due to low maintenance and lower cost to recharge the battery packs.
  2. 2019 Forester has Forest Green Pearl Metallic 2019 RAM Black Forest Green Pearl Coat 2018 Metallic Forest Green Ford Bullit 50th Anniversary edition 2019 Audi RS 5 Sportback Sonoma Green Metallic 2018 VW Tiguan Dark Moss Green Metallic Not allot, but clearly some brands realize more than the basic Black, White, Silver, Red, Blue for colors. Mazda needs to step out of their very conservative colors. Add a couple fun ones.
  3. Their CUV's Scream for a lovely Metallic Forest Green!
  4. @oldshurst442 In the US, auto exhaust noise cannot go over 95 decibels. Many rock concerts break the 105 decibel limit that does cause hearing loss. Harley Davidson has come under fire as their open header bikes have often broke the sound limit and in the cities, you are very correct that many people complain about the noise waking them up during the night when sleeping.
  5. Not hamstrung by electric propulsion and even if 15 to 20K higher priced, the savings on maintenance, oil, gas will easily off set and have bigger savings over a 3-5 year period than gas.
  6. So then VW Arteon is really ancient.
  7. 1900 The very first auto show at Madison Square Gardens. Great history of the industry. https://aoghs.org/transportation/first-auto-show/ Course some seem to think that the 1885 gasoline 3 wheel Benz was the first auto, but many will debate that as even the history channel says the following: https://www.history.com/news/who-built-the-first-automobile For historians who think that early steam-powered road vehicles fit the bill, the answer is Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot, a French military engineer who in 1769 built a steam-powered tricycle for hauling artillery.
  8. Very True, GM just did it better.
  9. I totally can agree with this that Volvo is the safety brand and Polestar is the performance brand. Cool.
  10. Agree, work and home have the same keyboard and I am lucky to be limited to minimal travel now so rarely use the laptop keyboard.
  11. We could all ask why the Hell Did Johan feel the need to go CT or XT on the cars. Mazda could feel with all the others out there that are dual digit, maybe someone has the ear of Corporate Mazda in Japan and has them convinced going CX30, CX50, CX90 would move it like other luxury automakers with dual digit auto names. After all multiple people have stated that Mazda wants to move into the Luxury segment away from the Honda / Toyota / Nissan and more seen as the Acura, Buick, Cadillac, BMW, etc. Maybe this is the start of moving in that direction with a rename of the auto's.
  12. Hummer Skyline R33 Unimog Yukon Denali / Escalade 1999 The start of the Luxury full size SUVs.
  13. up, noticed they CX30 is already stated on the USA Mazda site. Talk about a mess this is going to cause. It does make me wonder if the rest of the numbers during refresh will go dual digits. CX50, CX90 ?
  14. Talk about a confusing mess. Bigger but smaller so does that mean it is just right?
  15. I love them, cannot imagine working on a traditional straight keyboard ever.
  16. So work re-org'd groups and moved people around. Due to my seniority, I ended up getting a windows cube. Nice now, but I think summer is going to be hot. I also got a 2nd 30 inch monitor and as such went from 4 screens to 3. Here is my new setup, one 30 inch in portrait mode the other in landscape and then using my laptop screen for email.
  17. @oldshurst442 I agree that red has its place and for sure is hot on woman. But I stick with my own assessment that their are other colors that are just as sexy at auto shows than red, black, silver and white. Chinese auto show Tokyo autoshow Seoul Autoshow
  18. Agree the four colors you mention are the most tiring from an Autoshow and marketing standpoint. I wish Cadillac would go back to some of their better colors. Right now for 2019 very little outside of the tired 4 colors you mention are available now. Now their blue is along the lines of racing blue and that would market well with their Zoom Zoom tag they have used for years. I like their eternal mica blue color.
  19. VW started the Fight, then Hyundai won the war. Exterior looks good for both, but once you move inside, Hyundai has a superior looking interior IMHO.
  20. Totally agree, always marketing their cars in Red has gotten tiring and boring. They really need to mix up the marketing message with their auto's in various colors in various places. I truly believe whoever has the Marketing contract is heavily stuck in the Red Zone with their options transmission stuck in Neutral. I have to disagree with you, this is the Marketing machine stuck in Neutral of incompetence. All colors look good depending on the background, the use case, etc. Mazda could very well show off their auto's at the shows with various backgrounds that compliment and drive home their auto's doing something in various environments. Yes their jeweled red is pretty, but NO it is not the Best Color Only to show off at the show or marketing. Red is so tiring. Time to switch it up and show what else can be done.
  21. I totally disagree, I believed when I first heard this that the UK Gov Pukes pushing Brexit was all about their own agenda without telling the truth and clearly as the Story above that I posted shows and many others I have found on this shows that Brexit is a bomb of a poor planned program that cares nothing for the citizens or business but only about a cast system of specific rich groups of individuals in or with ties to the Government as they can survive the destruction of the economy. As we have been discussing in this thread, Brexit from an auto / service / financial standpoint alone will cost 10's of thousands of jobs. The UK might recover over the next 100 years but the upcoming 5 to 10 years is going to be destructive for those living on the edge of survival. This is going to really cost the country big time I believe. Once they lose those manufacturing jobs, they rarely ever come back as we have seen here in the US and Canada.
  22. You ASSUME there is no demand. Yet when people complain about noise in the inner city, open header motorcycles, diesel auto's, noise, smell, etc. People are wanting quieter options, cleaner air. So you are making an ASSUMPTION that people do not want this? How do you know what millions of people living in cities want? Seattle has a noise code that attempts to address this: http://www.seattle.gov/sdci/codes/codes-we-enforce-(a-z)/noise-code Clearly our neighborhoods are asking for a change to noise and air pollution such as Beacon hill: https://www.knkx.org/post/environmental-justice-seattle-s-beacon-hill-addressing-air-and-noise-pollution or https://iexaminer.org/environmental-injustice-the-air-and-noise-pollution-threatening-the-health-of-beacon-hill/ To quote from the iexaminer story above: Both air and noise pollution are associated with health risks. Long-term exposure to certain air pollutants is associated with heart disease and childhood asthma, according to Tim Larson, a professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the UW. Here is a science research done from 2000 to 2008 that shows both air and noise pollution increase the risk of heart attack especially in densly populated cities. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/10/181024112244.htm The SCIENCE supports that less noise and cleaner air is good for everyone both inside the city and outside of it. This on top of a vehicle that is quiet, less maintenance, less cost of fueling in a form factor such as this EV is desired even as you hate them, many love the option. This is a perfect representation of capitalism as another auto option that you can ignore and have a right to do and others will support. While use as an airport taxi or executive transport, I expect this electric van to also grab market share among service providers that will love the lower cost of operation and the stealth approach to delivering at all hours without bothering others. Electric Vans will be perfect for Amazon Prime 24/7 delivery in neighborhoods to inner cities.
  23. Great read as I had no idea that Brexit affects the good friday agreement that brought peace to northen Ireland. The truth is out about Brexit – but there is a narrow road back to sanity http://flip.it/7FgduV
  24. I can always respect a proper EV auto. Just cause it has a 3 point star and I would not buy it does not mean I cannot respect the engineering effort that went into it. GM / Ford / RAM would benefit from doing the same thing. EV vans that can be used for delivery / service work in the inner city will be a big win for companies by reducing service costs / fuel costs / noise and cleaner air for the City Dwellers. Still love ya Blu, keep me on my toes in Explaining why the Dark Side has better Cookies and you will join me young Padawan!
