Seat placement and working it to see what the wife wanted makes the difference. She liked the bug but after driving it and me folded up in it, was a no go. Woman make big men try everything to make them happy. Happy wife, Happy Life.

Jaguar News: Jaguar To Reveal I-Pace EV On March 1st
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Jaguar
Now convinced that color makes a big difference on the i-Pace look. Like the short overhangs much better than ones that have huge overhangs like the Rimac C-Two EV. -
VW News: Volkswagen's CEO Predicts A Rebound for Diesel
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Volkswagen
Idiot Talking, right up there with Sergio and now including Mueller. Sorry Diesel is a dead future. Right up there is Coal and the so called renaissance of coal jobs. Not gonna happen, even the diesel uptick in the US is a very limited time before we see them go away. -
@ocnblu Seems the new Transformer movie out in Dec 2018 focuses on Bumblebee first time on Earth as a wounded VW Bug. First picture released by Paramount at the link below. http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/12/29/bumblebee-movie-official-image-press-release-paramount-pictures-356050

Jaguar News: Jaguar To Reveal I-Pace EV On March 1st
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Jaguar
True, not an auto for everyone. But then one has to wonder about Aston Martin. https://www.autoblog.com/2018/03/06/aston-martin-lagonda-vision-concept-ev-geneva/#slide-7265092 The price of their first EV Car is going to be what? The story / interview at Autoblog with Aston Martin has them bringing back the Million dollar V12 powered Lagonda as their ultimate Zero-emissions luxury brand. -
@ocnblu We'll enjoy your memories as VW has killed the bug, the ID Buzz EV microbus is the way they are going and the EV Bug was killed when the board voted last Nov on which auto's would go EV and what would die. To Quote the story at Autoblog: https://www.autoblog.com/2018/03/07/vw-new-beetle-discontinued/ VW's head of R&D, Frank Welsch, told Autocar at the Geneva Motor Show that "two or three generations is enough now." With VW having pivoted to crossovers and electric vehicles, Welsch said the T-Roc Convertible will replace the Beetle, Golf, and Eos Cabriolets, and the I.D. Buzz — based on the Microbus — will serve as the heritage-inspired electric model.

AMG are not new auto's, they are tweaked performance versions of existing product that came out, new or refreshed. M series by BMW and V series by Cadillac though I think Cadillac went V series first and then backwards with CTS V-Sport and CTS regular.

Your right, I could not fit back there unless I break my back. I was able to get into the drivers seat but only with it reclined, not a fun driving position but I could get into and out of it compared to the MB and that is a shame considering I am 100% German and a German car company cannot seem to make a car to fit me. Sad and bad!

@balthazar I agree that the One has a much cleaner flowing design. Looking at them side by side you can see the Race Car Video Game they put into the 2nd gen version. Interesting, if we asked them why would be a good question. Rimac 1 Rimac 2

Yes I did, I folded up my body into the Golden Sand Dune Bug that they had to test drive at the Seattle auto show. Unimpressed, but hey, you love it so all yours, enjoy it!

Jaguar News: Jaguar To Reveal I-Pace EV On March 1st
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Jaguar
Seems $70,495 is the starting price of the Jag i-Pace EV cuv according to: https://www.autoblog.com/2018/03/06/2019-jaguar-i-pace-pricing-announced/ $86,895 for the HSE version. -
Seems Geneva auto show is where the EV stomping of Tesla is begining with the Rimac C Two, at nearly 2000HP and 1.85 seconds to 60, they have stomped on the Tesla Roadster 2.0 before it even starts shipping. https://www.autoblog.com/2018/03/06/rimac-c_two-electric-hypercar-almost-2-000-horsepower/

I wish I had access to the paid sites that do record and publish that info, but the only fact I am making is that we, the USA cannot consume all the Lease returns and as such, they get sold off in many ways, mostly on the wholesale market and shipped over seas which keeps prices here up.
-
Nice looking car, like the Matt Black. Tired of the Coupe on everything look. But this follows the rest of the MB family and will sell to the performance folks. Decent update on the 4 door sedan.

You just cannot see the bigger picture. Cost here are cheaper than Germany. MB builds more than they can sell and exports the new auto's, at the same time, there is still only a limited market for the Lease returns and as such must unload the lease returns too. As such, 3rd party buys from the wholesale market that MB unloads into and at the same time, many export companies that export these auto's to 3rd world countries. It is a common business even for American auto's.
-
For years even American lease returns were exported to other markets. How else do you account for the disappearance of all the Hummers off American Roads. GM Exported them to other markets where they could sell them at a profit and get the tree huggers from using it in the news and giving a black eye to GM over the Hummer. Exporting used lease returns has been a big business in North America for a long time to other markets. MB cannot sell all their lease returns themselves and turns to the wholesale business to unload the lease returns. In turn many end up on 3rd party lots or export companies going to China, Arab states and elsewhere in the 3rd world countries. http://www.autoremarketing.com/wholesale/mercedes-benz-financial-converts-two-live-auctions-exclusive-online-high-line-sales You want to get a real understanding of MB leaseing over purchase, just check out their current Financial Statements for their MB Financial Services LLC, a wholey owned subdivision of Diamler for North America.
