  1. I totally agree with the statement about MB and their 3 bos limo segment S-Class. I would hope that while making it bigger, the next XJ would bring interior room and space to a driving machine.
  2. In that case, then you have the following top 5 options for VIN checking for reported accidents/repairs. Problem is that 3rd party repair shops are not required to report auto repairs and as such there is no complete system that I am aware of. http://www.autocheck.com - Alternative to Carfax http://www.vehiclehistory.gov - National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) https://www.nicb.org - National Insurance Crime Bureau https://www.carproof.com - alternative to Carfax, but focused on auto's built in Canada shipped into the US. If US built, not going to help. http://www.internetautoguide.com - Another way to look for info on used or new auto's. Then as you mentioned, Consumer Reports or as I mentioned JD Powers or TrueDelta.
  3. Amazon has a huge long term contract for delivery of Amazon Prime packages. The postal service needs the bigger auto's as while mail delivery has reduced greatly, their package delivery service has jumped to where the current auto's are no longer sufficient.
  4. I would have to Think that GM has to have records on the number of autos built every year.
  5. I have Thor Ragnok and The Shape of Water. Both great movies. Surprised that The Shape of Water won so many awards and with the sexuality in the movie. WOW. Still awesome movie.
  6. Very cool, thanks for clarifying that, I missed the destination charge.
  7. CUV is King and the Bug's time has come to die. Lifestyle makes the bug not desirable by people and that shows in the sales numbers. Hail the New King, CUV!
  8. Not really sure what you are looking for then as there is no reporting by the auto companies on their repairs, failures, etc. As such websites based on input from people about their auto seems to be the best there is. The only other place I can think of would be JD Powers, but again that is based on feedback from auto owners.
  9. Sounds like a perfect Local Service auto.
  10. Yes one of our members also started this web site and I have my auto's listed there. I think some darn good reliability data. https://www.truedelta.com/car-reliability Check it out! https://www.truedelta.com/
  11. Makes sense if you really do not have the cash to fund R&D on EV auto's you have to get it from the rich!
  12. We'll My i-Pace Build comes out to $89,940 seems fully loaded you hit just under $95,000. Just those last few options I really don't care about. So I doubt I would take them unless the dealership ordered fully loaded and then discounted it. I really like the ability to go monochromatic on the car and drop all the brushed aluminum on the outside. I also love the warm brown interior option. I really love that they let you build the auto and then create a PDF file of your custom build with all details and costs. GDF-Jaguar-i-pace-Configuration.pdf
  13. Seems weird that they have no updated pic of the i-Pace trunk, but then it is in that regards just like the ICE F-Pace CUV. @William Maley Seems they have updated the web site for i-Pace and they now state that the starting price is $69,500 for this EV. https://www.jaguarusa.com/all-models/i-pace/index.html?abkid=424-649526&utm_content=content&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=%2Bjaguar %2Bi %2Bpace&utm_campaign=JCB_FL_130 - I-PACE - 2016&c
  14. Extra power is always nice, but I think you miss read the story Bill wrote. There is emission requirements for the medium duty class and the full Duramax Power clearly in a Medium Duty format would exceed those emissions. As such a detuned version. This also leave 3rd party open to offering performance upgrades and also the ability to just reflash the chip to the higher value after being sold by the owner.
  15. I was all about Mustangs and Camaros growing up, probably due to working with my dad in his repair shop and building racers, but now I have little care for cars but love SUV / Trucks. Them along with EV CUVs is the future for me.
  16. SWEET I could see myself owning and driving a medium duty pickup truck. I like that King Cab version. Sweet!
  17. Be a Perfect auto for the Zombie Apocalypse.
  18. Seat placement and working it to see what the wife wanted makes the difference. She liked the bug but after driving it and me folded up in it, was a no go. Woman make big men try everything to make them happy. Happy wife, Happy Life.
  19. Now convinced that color makes a big difference on the i-Pace look. Like the short overhangs much better than ones that have huge overhangs like the Rimac C-Two EV.
  20. Idiot Talking, right up there with Sergio and now including Mueller. Sorry Diesel is a dead future. Right up there is Coal and the so called renaissance of coal jobs. Not gonna happen, even the diesel uptick in the US is a very limited time before we see them go away.
  21. @ocnblu Seems the new Transformer movie out in Dec 2018 focuses on Bumblebee first time on Earth as a wounded VW Bug. First picture released by Paramount at the link below. http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/12/29/bumblebee-movie-official-image-press-release-paramount-pictures-356050
  22. True, not an auto for everyone. But then one has to wonder about Aston Martin. https://www.autoblog.com/2018/03/06/aston-martin-lagonda-vision-concept-ev-geneva/#slide-7265092 The price of their first EV Car is going to be what? The story / interview at Autoblog with Aston Martin has them bringing back the Million dollar V12 powered Lagonda as their ultimate Zero-emissions luxury brand.
  23. @ocnblu We'll enjoy your memories as VW has killed the bug, the ID Buzz EV microbus is the way they are going and the EV Bug was killed when the board voted last Nov on which auto's would go EV and what would die. To Quote the story at Autoblog: https://www.autoblog.com/2018/03/07/vw-new-beetle-discontinued/ VW's head of R&D, Frank Welsch, told Autocar at the Geneva Motor Show that "two or three generations is enough now." With VW having pivoted to crossovers and electric vehicles, Welsch said the T-Roc Convertible will replace the Beetle, Golf, and Eos Cabriolets, and the I.D. Buzz — based on the Microbus — will serve as the heritage-inspired electric model.
