@smk4565 @Stew @surreal1272 @ccap41 @oldshurst442 We all love auto's and especially all have brands we favor, I would like to suggest if you are going to POST saying a model or brand is in decline or rising, a rebate is dealer or manufacture, etc. Lets post along with our thoughts some actual facts, be it a screen shot from the dealers web site, the OEM web site, post a link to our own Sales section proving the decline or rise. Enough of blow out from our butts! I love ya all and enjoy the conversations but the vague statements really need to end. Not picking on anyone person but using this as an example. SMK says Chrysler's lone two products 300 and Pacifica is in sales decline. Proof: August shows the following 300 down 23% to 4,073 units moved Pacifica up 2% to 7621 units moved July shows the following 300 up 31% at 3,090 units moved Pacifica up 5% to 8288 units moved June shows the following 300 up 47% to 5355 units moved Pacifica up 59% to 12,399 units moved These figures are what Bill posted in the sales section of the monthly sales figures per OEM. So in this case the proof is for the most part Chrysler sales are up on these two models only. I did not bother with the other chrysler versions that are EOL. Please post facts to back up your statements. Thank you!

" Luxury cars are notorious for being expensive to keep on the road, partly due to all the technology equipment fitted to them. On the other hand, those technologies are a big selling point on these vehicles. Buyers use these to justify the price and they are a cool party trick to show to friends and family." This is so true of Luxury and especially of all the new Nanny devices that have been added over the last 10-15 years. I question the real need as driving is a privilege earned and if you cannot focus on the driving without playing with your smartphone, then you need to forget driving and take the bus, taxi, lyft, uber, etc. Driving is a privilege earned and we can do without all the added nanny devices. Feel the nanny devices are needed, then keep them on the self driving auto's and let the ICE, Hybrid & EV's that can be fun to drive for drivers who enjoy pure driving.

How is this any better than this? To me both the DS Egg above the the Lincoln MKC Egg below are butt ugly and a waste of time. Been in the Lincoln and it is pathetic. What I see online is not much better. The DS7 looks like another generic CUV that we already have but with a weird to me interior. So pass, see much better options than those product lines are offering.

Genesis News: Genesis G70 is Korea's 3-Series Challenger
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Genesis
I wonder how long they will wait till offering Hybrid and EV in the Genesis car and CUV product line, 12-18 months or more like 24-36 months? -
Surprised Jeep has not done a Hellcat Wrangler themselves and continue to let another 3rd party do it.

Genesis News: No N Treatment for Genesis Models
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Genesis
I can totally agree and see this, we are on the cusp of a revolution in the auto industry and EV's are already faster than ICE and Hybrids with powertrains like the VOLT will also allow companies to have better performing auto's. This makes good management sense. -
Genesis News: Genesis G70 is Korea's 3-Series Challenger
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Genesis
Interesting read, so another company copies the American route of mid size auto between a lower and higher level one. So this is to compete against the ATS, BMW 3 series, etc. longer and wider but less room inside. Weird. -

Totally agree, Here you can rent a 10 foot truck for $19.95 a day, unlimited miles. Pretty good deal, did this for moving my son. Faster and cheaper than using a G-Wagon or my Escalade. -

@Drew Dowdell So is the GV80 supposed to be the size of the XT5 from Cadillac? That would then put the GV70 as an XT3 competitor and Driving web site is saying Genesis is now also wanting to do a luxury compact so GV60 or GV50? http://driving.ca/genesis/auto-news/news/hyundais-genesis-division-wants-to-build-a-compact-cuv Have to say I like the looks of this, very modern for the 21st Century so I hope they stay true to this concept. I really like it in Silver more than the white pearl color they showed off at the auto show. -
Genesis News: Genesis G70 is Korea's 3-Series Challenger
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Genesis
That would be true if it was a concept auto being shown but you know as well as I that the majority of the auto's are production auto's off the local dealership lots for the show. As such, the auto should be tight, and not able to have the screws come loose or lost between the dealership lot, the auto show and people getting in and out of them. If the mismatched screw is from the dealership, then that speaks volumes about the dealership and one I would want to avoid. -

So true that a sucker is born every day. For that coin, I would still take a brand new Escalade over this! -

So now that Genesis has their car lineup, Wonder how fast they will turn out a full SUV/CUV lineup and I wonder how soon before the first updates. It will be interesting to see how Genesis, AKA Hyundai will do in the Luxury race and how the public will take to it? Will it become like Lexus with a loyal following but just another low tier luxury line or will they truly raise to the competition and become one of the top 3 luxury auto lines? -

Genesis News: Genesis G70 is Korea's 3-Series Challenger
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Genesis
Yup, seems so lately, but then Fall is about to begin so it could change to everything is about NFL or Hockey. In regards to Genesis, it will be interesting to watch if they try to mimic the whole BMW product line or just go with a single 3 series competitor and focus on the SUV/CUV run. SUV/CUV is what I would be focused on with Hybrid/EV options in those that beat the Germans. -

Yet these pictures are not just from a search of the Internet, these are pictures taken by Drew at the auto show of a production G-Wagon available for sale. Your Right MB built a joke of a cup holder, plenty of the G-Wagon is great, but plenty is also a Joke and just pathetic. Your right about old school as I do love the Wrangler and older SUV's that are much more simpler before the Gov's became Nanny device crazy trying to protect you at ever turn, every foot forward or back. Auto Craziness with the nanny devices. -
Very interesting, I can understand this as Idiot Sergio is just squeezing out the last of the profits he can steal and put in his own pocket before leaving the mess to the board and a new CEO to clean up. I would not believe that much of anything will get moved onto a new platform in the 2020's era as they are going to have to be forced to clean house, close some brands down to survive. I do not think Chrysler as a nameplate will survive till 2025 let alone 2030. Next name to to history books IMHO. Minivan back to Dodge and then can or will anyone buy the Jeep/Ram/Dodge family from FCA or will FCA truly let them die? I really hope someone kills off the money sucking Alfa, What a waste of billions.

Totally agree, my 1994 GMC Suburban SLE has the stage coach doors and while I never saw Dutch Doors on Suburbans, I always wished they did have them as I think it is the ultimate way to protect against mother nature while making it easy to get things into the auto. Would also reduce the electronics as you would not need a motor to lift that humongo tailgate.
