  1. Agreed, a Mini truck in EV would work well. I still think you could even do an ICE version that would sell in decent numbers. I think like Drew points out, they need to cut the number of Mini Coopers down and add the pickup.
  2. Found the European Mini Pickup. They so should be selling this here.
  3. That would be cool as I bet many inner city people would love a mini pickup. Very Cool Having a Mini Pickup EV would be so cool!
  4. Still think there is room for a Mini Pickup in addition to the mid and full size trucks especially if the Mini is an EV.
  5. As I posted about this yesterday here: Just follow the link to the site that has the updated picture of the new Scrambler.
  6. Both Dodge and Chrysler have rich history, but that is it, right now history. Dodge has a better awareness in the market place. Chrysler has the old person, smell of death associated with it when you talk to people. I understand you liking one over the other, and I get it as I have warm feelings for Buick but if it was not for China, I would have said kill Buick also and just be a Chevy, GMC, Cadillac company. Sadly, I do not think you can really bring back Chrysler without spending billions and 100 years to rebuild. Dodge due to the performance angle has the awareness and is not as tarnished as Chrysler. That is how I see it right now.
  7. FCA should just bite the bullet, move the Pacifica over to Dodge, turn off the Chrysler lights and call it a day.
  8. Talk about STUPID! Sorry but this just muddies the waters and really does nothing to help clarify the HP thing. Before anyone says this is based on their Metric system. I read the official release, this is some arrogant PHD or DR Bozo that is complicating things not simplifying things. Why not just do the following that would be easier and make more sense: 10 = 100 - 149 HP or kW 15 = 150 - 199 HP or kW 20 = 200 - 249 HP or kW 25 = 250 - 299 HP or kW 30 = 300 - 349 HP or kW 35 = 350 - 399 HP or kW 40 = 400 - 449 HP or kW 45 = 450 - 499 HP or kW 50 = 500 - 549 HP or kW You get the idea, they can keep moving the number up to represent the range so it is easy to understand and clear. Want an 800 HP super Car, you have it as an 80. Want a 650 HP Super CUV, you have it as a 65. Their scale makes Zero sense to me. Dr. Dietmar Voggenreiter, please explain how this simplifies and makes clear your performance output from the auto?
  9. I so can see the signs now, for Dodge maybe, especially for Chrysler, "Last one leaving turn off the lights" I honestly am surprised Sergio has not decided to kill the Chrysler name plate.
  10. That is how it is supposed to be as the goal is to get people to upgrade to newer Cadillacs. I feel this dealership is failing it's customers by giving a downgraded from a cadillac to a chevy to their customers. Very sad!
  11. WOW, Sucks that he is being downgraded. The Dealership should be loaning him an equal type auto. I would tell him to ask for a Cadillac loaner and nothing else. I love GM, but if you buy a Cadillac, then your loaner should be a cadillac. Tha is how I think and see it. I would expect that and politely state the case. Good luck with his repair.
  12. Is your brother not having the cadillac dealership fix his ATS? Seems weird as I have never known a Cadillac dealership that does not give out Cadillac Loaners when you take your auto in for service. So was a few LED's out or the whole thing not working? Cruze is what I expect for Chevrolet and any cheap entry level small car.
  13. Gotta Love Japanese Commercials especially when they are for US products.
  14. We tried that by doing that to everyone that got locked up in the pych wards. Virginia was the last state to stop doing that when committed in 1989 and ended up settling out for 800 million. Sadly the ubber liberals think it is cruel punishment to keep those with poor genes from reproducing. Does not mean people do not love retarded, downs, mentally unstable, etc. but one does have to wonder how reproducing the weakest genes in society helps society?
  15. How do you justify that they have flunked? They are growing and CA just showed that 5% of all auto sales are electrified. Back at the beginning, if we use what ever justification you are trying to apply to EV's you would have to say that the early 1900's ICE auto's failed. So they should have just quit and not continued to build and design auto's? Please expand on your statement that they continue to flunk?
  16. G. David Felt - Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.cheersandgears.com Tom Moloughney 2017 BOLT Review Tom Moloughney is a well respected EV advocate that has been asked to not only review EV's, conversions, etc. but also to fun polls and surveys to find out what people think, want and need. Tom has driven many EV's including his recent BMW i3 that was totaled. GM gave him a 2017 Chevrolet BOLT in Kinetic Blue Metallic for a week to drive around and while no auto is perfect, he did find plenty to praise about Chevrolet and all they did right on the BOLT. I have listed below the full review for you to read, but wanted to quote a few things from Tom's review that are worthy in the 800 miles he put on. Quote: "Now to be clear, I know that the Bolt and the Model 3 are distinctly different types of vehicles. However, the fact that they both have a single-charge range of over 200 miles, and basically the same base MSRP, there will inevitably be some degree of cross shopping." He went on to state this is not a comparison, but wanted to just point this out. "The Bolt is such a good performer in fact, that at this year’s Refuel at Laguna Seca, Billy Kwan set a Production Class record, and even beat all of the Tesla car’s times from the 2016 event." "GM clearly wanted the Bolt EV to fit more into the “Hot Hatch” category, with above-average acceleration and good handling, while Nissan was more interested in making the LEAF a comfortable all-electric family mover." "The rear seating area is spacious and comfortable, especially for a car of its size. The outward vision from anywhere in the cabin is excellent, and that helps make the small car feel bigger than it actually is." "However, the more expensive i3 doesn’t even offer the options of a rear camera mirror, or Surround Vision that the Bolt has." "With an EPA electric range rating of 238 miles per charge, GM didn’t just simply beat competitors like the Nissan LEAF, BMW i3, Volkswagen eGolf, et al, they crushed them." "The Bolt minimizes the potential concern of range anxiety extremely well, and only the proliferation of nation-wide high-speed DC fast charge infrastructure will completely eliminate it." "While I could have discussed the Bolt’s regenerative braking system in the previous section, I was so impressed by how GM implemented this feature that I wanted to dedicate more time reviewing it." More good stuff to read, check out the full review as this guy clearly was pleased that GM did their homework and delivered. Full Posted Review
  17. Took them long enough, Hopefully someone will have enough long term thinking to bring this out as is in an ICE Truck but also look at having a King Cab EV Truck. I believe who ever does will see a big jump in sales to cities for both normal consumers and governments that do not need an ICE to use around the city and parks.
  18. http://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/enthusiasts/video-explore-the-warehouse-crammed-with-classic-fords/ar-AAqy9kC Very cool Video and write up on Fords UK Heritage Garage. To quote the writeup: There are so many special cars hidden away in Dagenham that picking highlights isn’t easy. How about one of four RS200s, the two Transit Supervans, the mighty Sierra RS Cosworth or the RAC Rally-winning Mk2 Escort RS1800? However, this collection doesn’t only cover the exotic and expensive. There are also Granadas, a Mondeo and several Fiesta XR2s. Even the unloved Mk5 Escort gets a spot. So many of us have memories involving these cars, they have become part of our collective conscious. Let’s be thankful Ford is preserving them.
  19. Sex sells Homes and Auto's! What a great Marketing campaign! "Get your Sex on with the ultimate in SUV and Home" "The ultimate Poke that lasts a Lifetime!"
  20. True, but it was the best picture I could find showing the difference from rear to front. I agree that air damn is crazy silly. Ocnblu did the right thing removing it.
  21. https://www.fcagroup.com/en-US/investors/financial_regulatory/financial_reports/files/FCA_NV_2017_06_30_Semi_Annual_Report.pdf Talk about creative accounting, NAFTA is shown to be a money losing debt, but the bulk of sales is here in NAFTA and they show Europe especially Fiat, Alfa, etc. brands to be profitable. I wonder how the Chinese will feel about taking on large chunks of delayed liabilities and taxes. Very interesting financial report. LOL Sergio says his Alfa will sell 170K auto's in 2017. Interesting read. http://www.autonews.com/article/20170603/RETAIL01/170609910/alfa-romeo-stelvio-crossover-sergio-marchionne Interesting that this latest story covering his pay package and incentives is very grey in regards to what those pay incentives are. FCA own filing is very vague. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-fiat-chrysler-ceo-idUSKBN1682UV
  22. Agree, many lost chances, Sergio the Ignorant really messed up when he could have reinvested the Billions he stole to bring back Alfa from the History books and could have beefed up the FCA US products to increase more profits and then used said profits to do his own pet Italian garbage projects.
  23. So True, I honestly only see a Chinese buyer for the Full FCA US portfolio as FCA Euro is all about their trashy Fiat, Alfa crud. I can see a Chinese auto company buying up FCA US, expanding and growing Jeep, Ram for the US and select global markets and then use their Chinese auto's to bring back Dodge and Chrysler or they truly kill off Chrysler and inform the dealers that they are now going to be a Wang Dealer as an example. I personally think there is still a glut of brands and as such, some are going to have to join the history books. I love the Dodge history and would like to see them survive, but I can honestly see Chrysler being killed off, move the mini van to Dodge and call it a day.
