Hyundai News:Hyundai Santa Cruz Has Been Given The Go-Ahead
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Hyundai
This is why I think the Tesla pickup or any other Mini EV Pickup with a 1000lbs payload capacity would be a winner for city living folks who want a pickup to go to Home Depot and get their gardening needs. -

@Drew Dowdell You Rock! Appreciate the points and I see what you mean when I look at the photo you included about the longer hood. That does look better than the Miata. Thank you, -
Wonder if Tesla will just keep upping the number for their auto's since it represents the battery pack. P60, P70, P80, P85, P90, P100 I get they have the 3, S and X

Fiat News: Rumorpile: A Fiat 124 Coupe Is Said To Be In the Works
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
@Drew Dowdell Help me understand what is in the design that you find fetching? I grew up building Mustang and Camaro racers and have loved race cars, but the Miata is one auto I just could never find appealing and I hear from you and others about the Fiat and just do not see what draws the attention and I want to understand at least what I am missing about the design language of this auto. I do not see masculine wheel wells, the front end and back end are to me just average. I honestly just see a rebadge of the Miata with the Fiat logo. Appreciate you telling me what strikes your fancy on this car. Thank you -
@ccap41 I agree that we can use smaller size to accomplish larger size. My concern is the whole marketing story about better MPG. I really do not buy it and you can now make that V6 or even a 4 banger sound like a V8, 10 or 12 as the tuning of mufflers is amazing now. Gonna Call it now, next tuning will be in sound for the Hybrids and EVs. People will want their own unique sound when driving these Electron Pocket Rockets!

@smk4565 We all know they have a TT V8 coming. This probably will be the last big power engine or next to last as we do not need them no matter how much you keep pounding the drum of "A true luxury auto company has TTV8, V10, V12, etc.. The fact is that Torque moves auto's and plug-in hybrids and pure EVs are coming and the future will be bright with a whole new way of rating engines. You and every auto magazine / web site out there needs to accept that the days of HP are coming to a close. Welcome to the 21st century!

I always thought that there would be room for custom tuners and now I see we have a first one that is focused on Tesla. https://tsportline.com/ They have all types of custom packages from internals for the cabin, wheels, and more.

Interesting that I found in their blog section that the P100D has been talked about since April 13th of 2016. https://forums.tesla.com/forum/forums/p100d Plenty of people were interested in it then.

That is one ugly car. -
That would be cool to see if it makes sense for the trains now especially with the trains that are using LNG for the generators instead of diesel, Maybe time to rethink the Hybrid Train.

G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com Tesla first to 100kWh Battery According Tesla today, they are now building the fastest 0-60 sedan in the world, beating out Porsche and Ferrari. Today people can now order the P100D with Ludicrous mode! This allows this 7 passenger sedan 5 adults / 2 kids to hit 60 in 2.5 seconds according to Tesla's own Blog. The Tesla X P100D can hit 60 in 2.9 seconds. The battery is 300 miles in Ludicrous mode and 315 miles in normal mode. Click Here Tesla says all S and X orders not delivered can upgrade to the 100 battery pack for $10,000 and existing S and X can upgrade for $20,000 to the 100 battery pack. The higher upgrade fee on existing owners is due to disposal of the 90 battery pack. Tesla goes on to also say that this helps fund development of the Tesla 3.

Was everyone else not able to see the new logo? I am so sorry, I thought when Intrepidation mentioned it that everyone could see it. Sorry guys. -
Great Point Drew, I wish more would understand the history and would respect the blades that they have had on the auto's.

So Nikola has poked the Beast Musk, as he now is working on a Semi Solution. Interesting! Makes one wonder just how long before cities require these trucks internally for local deliveries.

Since we have many various thoughts on the design direction, I thought it might be nice to grab and compare the current products that are still with us and the evolution they have taken. The one thing this does prove is that the headlights need to stay a vertical design. Yet we can find horizontal headlights in the past but we do not need to mimic BMW, MB or Audi. Cadillac needs to keep their own styling trend and Johan need to man up focus on the rich history of the Unique Cadillac rather than copying his German lovefest of Sausage! Cadillac Escalade 1999 to 2016 SRX-XT Generations SRX 2004 to 2009 SRX 2010 to 2016 2017 XT5 CTS Generations Gen 2003-2007 Gen 2008 to 2013 Gen 2014 to 2016

MAJOR SOFTWARE UPDATE COMING THIS WEEK!
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Site News and Feedback
Yes, love the new Logo! -
expanded cars should be on hold as they do need to focus on making the product line right and tweaking existing auto's to be best in class. I am also saying it here, If Johan does not see that the industry is changing and that the focus should be on plug-in Hybrids and EV's, they need to cut him loose and bring in a true visionary. Twin Turbo and V10/12 engines are a dying place that has limited future growth besides 1 to 2 generations out at most covering 4-8 years. I would question putting to many resources into old petro technology.

Kia News: Kia Might Shelve Its Diesel Hybrid Powertrain
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Kia
Cool, I hope they finish it using a gas engine or better yet, CNG or Hydrogen maybe. But reality is a hybrid with gas engine short term solution as they need to move to pure EV.- 2 replies

I really like the new web site, so is the timeline look the new way unread forum posts will always show now in this version? Agree with others that I do like the new software, but have to get used to the changes also as I search for stuff.
