  1. So Route 226 and 241 both start and end at mass transit centers. Route 226 has 50 stops and is a grand total of 14 miles. Route 241 has 25 stops and is a grand total of 16.8 miles. Both Transit centers have chargers for these buses, so they will run the route and then charge up again, then run the route again. Should be good for minimal disruption. I do wonder how heating and AC depending on the season will affect the battery packs.
  2. G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com The King County Metro mass transit division has decided to work with manufacture Proterra, Inc., a Burlingame California based company in testing pure battery powered electric buses on the hills of Seattle. These buses get 23 miles per charge and recharge in 10 min. These three buses will be deployed on heavy use city routes. Metro will be evaluating the cost savings from using EV buses. This testing will take 1 year and be done over the 2016 calendar year. Metro as well as Proterra is committed to having the greenest bus fleet in the world. Full Story is found here.
  3. Not a bad looking sedan, but a bit too conservative for me. The interior is nice. I just hope the interior comes in black or at least Mocha Brown as the white interiors like tan show so much dirt.
  4. Interesting to compare the concept to the production. Very close but clearly some changes made for maximizing the electric drive system.
  5. Very Cool, Gotta love the pedestrian decapitation front end on it and of course this will come standard with the rear cameras to deal with the small blind spots! So I wonder how fast be fore we see families with a BOLT as their go to work and local driving auto plus a gas powered or Hybrid CUV for road trips?
  6. Any Idea what this is in this picture, it is gone from all the others. Maybe packing material for when the auto was shipped for the photo shoot? Very sexy overall, Cannot wait for newer better quality pictures of both the inside and outside.
  7. At least it is much better than the ugly BMW I3 or Prius puke.
  8. At least here in the Seattle market the incentives do apply to all the products including the GTI, the only change on the GTI is that the auto loan is a 1.9% interest for 60 months versus .9% for 72 months on everything else. Kinda weird, not sure why this one is different but it clearly is stated on the web pages for the VW dealers here.
  9. Very cool, looks good and true to concept form. Weird observation in the very first photo is a weird boxy thing around the right front bumper area. Wonder what that was as it is gone in later photos.
  10. Just drove by VW of University in Seattle and they have a ton of auto's on their lots 200+, so checked their web site and they list only 136 available for sale. Quick call to the dealership and the sales person said that they had almost 100 diesels that are just sitting till they can be repaired and unable to be sold. Based on that, I would say that VW is going to be hurting a long time as product sits, trust is shattered and people are not buying from them. Bet December gets ugly. So locally VW is offering 0 down, 0 first and second month payments. $1500 owner loyalty and .9% for 72 months. You can also get $1000 if you trade in a competitor car. Free oil changes for life and free loaner auto on service. Pretty amazing as they are also showing pricing reductions of 3-5K depending on model. So they are spending some cash to try and keep sales going.
  11. WOW, VW down 25% is bleeding massively.
  12. Very interesting, if they go pure Hybrid on their auto lineup, they could nail the MPG thing and really attract sales.
  13. Man I hope they figure out some better design language than the ugly I3. I expect the luxury auto makers will have to use EV's and Hybrids to keep their V8, V10 and V12 powered auto's alive.
  14. Not a bad looking future Station Wagon. Be interesting to see what the specs are on the auto.
  15. We'll this was expected by me and should have been by many others. Afterall, they developed the module and software, so their fingerprint is there on the fraud.
  16. The real question is will Elons ego let him do something like this. His rocket company as already taken a hit from the competition this week as it is. In that lies the rub. Egotistic smart people think they should still rule everything and control everything. This is probably one of the biggest problems. He cannot see what his real benefit is to society other than trying to be a ruler.
  17. They more I have thought about this, I think Tesla should focus on batteries and powertrains to sell to Auto OEMs. This way they could offer FWD, RWD, AWD powertrains with various battery packs and performance versions and then you have a solid system sold worldwide by others.
  18. Smart Move by GM, I expect this to continue strong well through the end of next year now that they have the diesel also. Like Drew, I wonder how fast they can spin up production at the contractor for the van work.
  19. Thank you all, it has been an outstanding and awesome ride here at Cheers and Gears. Wishing you all the best for the holiday season.
  20. Thanks Drew, totally zoned about the average transaction price - ATP. Those are great pictures and it does blow Lexus out of the water.
  21. Hope they can truly make the 6MT give equal or better MPG than the auto. Other than racing and the shrinking group of people who ask for manual, I have a hard time justifying it.
  22. WTF, They have cheap looking circle vents like you find in all fords. Then you have that hideous red and tan interior with dark wood. Someone needs to have their eyes checked along with the ability to design interiors. Steering wheel reminds me of a non-airbag steering wheel from the 90's. I will say that the final interior they show is probably their best. The rest are very sterile or just plain weird. Exterior, I am fine with it and it is growing on me. I do see like everyone else they are creating the rear large haunches that have become popular for auto's.
  23. Enjoy the Basting and roll on hard with the rest of the trimmings. Happy Turkey Day to you all!
  24. ^^^^^ OK, So I am not able to Bing or google what ATP is for the auto industry. Lots of sites that use ATP in their name but no clear answer here. Please help me out here. In regards to the pictures, the XT5 is going to be a hit and the interior is superior to what MB or BMW or anyone else has right now.
