  1. The European soccer leagues are banning fans and on the verge to cancel/delay their seasons... Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson just announced they tested positive for this shyte. The phoquing NBA just DELAYED their phoquing season...(after a player has tested positive for covid 19) Italy literally closing up shop 24 hours ago. I mean...no businesses are allowed to be open other than pharmacies and grocery stores and ONLY 10 people shopping at a time. This is getting pretty phoquing serious. In Quebec...only 5 people are infected (so far) and 1 person has died. In Canada, I think with are at 118 with 8 or 9 deaths. Most cases in B.C., Alberta and Ontario. We were at 62 a couple of days ago. That is how it started in Italy. They were at 60 and ballooned to the 1000s within a week or so. Montrealers arent panicking yet.
  2. Some say grunge killed rock-n-roll. I say formulaic hair metal/glam rock did ITSELF in. Although I like these songs imma gonna post....I aint foolin' myself. I KNOW these songs and so called rock bands were the culprits for the end. And there are plenty more...its just these are what I was listening to on youtube just now...for whatever reason. Hey! These are still better than the formulaic pop shyte that's been...popular the last coupla decades. The...Im gonna crash my car unto a bridge and I dont care and the haterz are gonna hate hate hate shake it off are catchy...but really really really really shytty. These formulaic glam rock songs are just...shytty. 4 shyttys versus the 1 shytty on the shytty pop scale of shyt pop songs. The musicians are really musicians playing their own real instruments and the singer is actually singing is my criteria as to why formulaic pop glam rock is better than pop songs of today. My final random thought of the night before calling it quits... Should this post have gone in the random thoughts thread? Good Night!
  3. Im with Balthy on this. No need to do 442 nomenclature. For several reasons too, not JUST what Balthy said. What he said is but 3 reasons. 1. First and foremost. Oldsmobile is no longer a brand. A 442 is NOT a Chevy, nor a Buick. I would NEVER want a Cutlass/442 branded any other way other than Oldsmobile...so... 2. Just not necessary. No marketing gain, especially when many folks dont remember what a 442 is, at best. And at worst...dont know ANYTHING about it. 3. I dont mind your definition of an electric 442. Im not going to be that fussy about it not being a 4 barrel carburetor, 4 speed manual trans and dual exhaust on a big cubed V8 because Oldsmobile themselves did one on the Quad 4 of it being 4 cylinder, 4 valves/cylinder, dual camshafts. About that...although it was a quick car in comparison to what was offered in the late 1980s early 1990s, and compared to what a muscle car 442 was in the 1960s and early 1970s, and that Quad 4 Calais 442 was probably a better 442 than the G-Body 442 was... Both G-Body and Quad 4 442s lacked the menacing presence of the originals. Like Balthy said. Enough is enough. Let the 442 rest in peace. Now...I would take a Cutlass body shell and I would marry it to a Tesla...or better yet...GM EV skateboard platform complete with batteries and motors and create my own 442. THAT is what I would do if I was trying to restore a far too gone Cutlass barnyard find. with no engine and the like. But for GM...let Cadillac and Chevy create new legends.
  4. RIP Henri
  5. I didnt understand the article. I read it but I didnt comprehend what it was saying. Im at work doing the night shift, I will chime in later in the night
  6. Not much different with these kids today than with the entitled kids of rich parents of the 80s and 90s. VW Rabbit convertibles or Bimmers back in the day versus Teslas of today. The more things change...
  7. And one from his solo cowboy flick soundtrack. My personal fave from Mr. Bongiovi
  8. All this talk about Spring And its a welcomed song choice because everywhere I go in Montreal...Bon Jovi is playing. The band is coming back for another concert. Went skating outside, heard Bon Jovi. We went to a rink, they played Bon Jovi. Turn on the radio, Enlgis stations, French stations...Bon Jovi... I mean...I like the band...but shyte, man! Some macho Bon Jovi, please. Not this sappy girley girly lovey lovey shyte he does. Its good. But its too...girley. A couple of songs that the radio does not play...at least not anymore. Wanted Dead or Alive is too Bon Jovi rock cliché So Ill go with something that is long forgotten!!!
  9. Beating a dead horse...( but I could do this ALL night) Romantiq (I had a hard time choosing which song Id post...so Ill post both!) Talking in your sleep would be the first song I heard and liked from them but I like both songs equally) Chiq Some Disco and Cadillac is now complete and well represented!
  10. We could add Horrifiq to the list, non? What about Mis-Teeq as a spelling? Then there is soniq Metalliq (LOVE the song and the melody and the guitars. HATE the lyrics)
  11. Well...I took my time to explain. It seemed you were interested. My bad. You told me after I translated...whatev... It was insultive. If you did not care...dont respond back with such nonchalance arrogance. And you did it twice with two posts. But yeah... I will apologize for I have been rude to you. Sorry. (All in English so I dont insult you further for writing in french.)
  12. Ça, ce n'est pas gentil, mon ami. Parler plusieurs langues est un talent qui doit etre honoré plutot que de laissé de coté comme si ce n'était rien de spécial ... Désolé....mais ça fait pitier.
  13. OK... The first sentence was correct. In brackets, because you wanted to be replied en anglais. I responded in kind: "He wants to be answered with the language of the square heads." What is a square head? Its a derogatory term the French have for the English that dont speak french. Why tete carree? (Square head) It goes deeper than just anglophones not speaking french or not willing to speak french...but yeah...English people are square heads (block heads, stiff upper lips versus la joie de vivre the French have got...) French Frog versus Tete Carree. Its not: "Here, Ill speak French" Its: "Here, we speak French" When an English speaking person (In Quebec) refuses to speak French and speaks only English (before anyone passes judgement on French Canadians, they need to understand why the Quebecois have become so defending of their language and culture in Quebec...one has to know the history between the British colonies in North America and the wars with the French colonists and so forth all the way to the early 1900s up until WW2) So...Ici on parle francais. Here, in Quebec...we speak French!!! Tabarnak! A Church Tabernacle. Same spelling in French, but Quebec slang/lingo and how its pronounced its tabarnak. And its a swear word. Quebec swear words and swearing are really, truly blasphemous and sacrilegious. And the way I said it there, it puts an exclamation point that HERE!!! We PHOQUING speak french...TABARNAK!
  14. Im afraid...its not only the US government that needs to be told "NO" as you put it. The whole bloody planet's governments are doing this. I dont know if and when the Americas are gonna do this (North, South and Central) but many countries in Europe are in motion of banning ICE engines in their city cores and probably everywhere else in their respective countrys eventually soon. Ditto for the Asian continent too. The thing is...the rest of the planet's population are not exactly against this as feverishly as some Americans are... And THAT poses mucho problems not only for the USA (we could discuss this how if the whole world wants to do away with ICE and adopts EVs, how does THAT phoque up the American way of life, because its an interesting discussion) but for American car companies such as GM, Ford. (FCA is gonna be further entrenched with Europe) (We could discuss that because THAT is interesting too as GM and Ford are counting on China's market and China is one of these countries that are pushing EVs harder than anywhere else. Other than Norway.) Ah...but they HAVE banned cigarettes... Im assuming the US is like Canada and smoking cigarettes is limited to a few designated areas around public spaces... No total ban...because money is to be made. That and criminalizing ciggies and ciggie smoking will just end up in disaster...kinda like prohibition did way back when... And...I KNOW that jails are overflowing with soooo many criminals that they dont know what to do with them anymore. Incarcerating smokers for such a petty crime wont make any sense. Will cost too much. So yeah...smoking is tolerated by law... As far as EVs go... One thing that EV lovers should take heed is that all these online updates that they love soooo much may end up screwing them. Tesla records data. Data like speed and distance traveled and that data will be used against the user. It will be monetized to Tesla's, insurance's and especially the government's favour. Taxing the mileage one drives and insurance quotas based on your speed and mileage driven and the like... Be careful what we wish for... So Im aware of all the shyte that is going on. Im for EVs. But certain things that go with EVs as a package...Im very weary about.
  15. @trinacriabob Je n'ai rien fait de spécial pour mon anniversaire. Merci d'avoir demandé. @ocnblu She asked me what I did for my birthday. (Il veut etre repondu avec la langue des tetes carrées ) Ici, on parle francais, mon tabarnak!!! (Ive heard that a few times...)
  16. @dfelt How many of us have been saying about the right EV product (SUV/CUV) with the right combination of range, price, esthetics, dimensions, utility WILL sell well!!! (referring to the Mustang Mach-E) Thanx for posting. Now...hopefully Ford actually hits those performance numbers as promised.
  17. True. But (affordable)sports cars lately...dont really sell well... Muscle cars, when done and marketed well...actually DO sell well. The Challenger is proof of that. Affordable mid-engined cars...when well done, unlike the Fiero, like the Toyoter MR2...didnt sell well way back in the day. Ironically, the Fiero DID sell well... When GM is moving away from ICE and going towards EVs...I dont think an affordable mid-engined ICE vehicle will make sense. Maybe the Camaro will become an affordable EV sports car. Skateboard platform and the battery being housed under the carriage type deal negates a need for...a mid-engined ICE sports car. However... Corvette and/or Cadillac could benefit from this Speed proposal. But from different "fiction" discussion. Cadillac could include a mid-engined sports car in its line-up with a Black-Wing V8...or better yet...what you have proposed with your Microblock engine ideas. However, like @Robert Hall said, high priced, ultra performing Vettes are part of the fabric...so Z06/ZR1, Zora full on EV or hybrid Vette is a must for being a Chevrolet and a Corvette at that. Your Speed idea is a GREAT idea if Corvette was its own brand. Yes...Cadillac be more awesome if it too, had a version of the C8. But...Cadillac needs product that better defines what Cadillac is all about. Cadillac is starved of such product as of now. A mid-engined sports car is not that product. When Cadillac rights itself, then and only then will a supercar should be in its cards. The XLR was flubbed. The Cien came and went as a concept. The Ciel, El Miraj were wasted as concepts. That was Cadillac's chance. Now...15 years later, they need to re-think their product line-up again. EVs are gonna be their new battle ground.
  18. I personally think Chevy will kill the Camaro as is, but will re-invent it as an EV crossover coupe thingy (like you said...but EV) to compete with the Mustang Mach-E. As I posted above, I wasnt trolling with the E-ROC comment. Electric Racing of Champions instead of IROC. There is also no reason to believe its staying either... GM has been....silent on the future of Camaro after 2023. That means anything really. But its more of a negative to be silent than a positive. Very very true... However. This is GENERAL MOTORS we are talking about!!! GM has already killed the F-Body twins with similar sales in 2002 as the sales that the Alpha platform ATS and Camaro generated. And...in 2002...SUVs were all the rage which was a major reason for canceling the F-Body and killing the Camaro/Firebird. In 2020, SUVs and CUVs have become the bread and butter products and EVs have somewhat become all the rage and Camaro is neither. Mizz Barra DID say GM was going full on electric in 2023 and beyond. This is why I have stated that Camaro will probably be an EV CUV to rival the Mustang Mach-E. Or if not a CUV, then an EV coupe the Camaro will become. I have strong suspicions.
  19. They understand it. They speak it but are too shy to do so if that makes any sense... I mean, if they are forced to speak Greek, they will do so. But its not as fluid as I speak it. To be fair, at home, we speak English and French more often than we do Greek. Sad to say. But reality dictates that Greek is not part of our environment. Even when we have family get togethers, we speak English more often than not. Its like the sentence is started in English, therefore English would be the language and structure we define our communications with and Greek words are substituted sometimes in place of English ones. And sometimes French words are also added to the sentences as well. And that is how my kids "speak" Greek as well... They will back away from speaking fully Greek though. I speak almost perfectly in Greek. I do have a slight anglophone tone when I do speak Greek as opposed to a Greek from Greece. Plus I obviously dont speek Greek lingo from Greece. I also speak Greek at a slower speed than native Greeks do. But my speed is matched to theirs after a couple of days when Im there. (In Greece) But my anglophone tone remains. Same with my (Quebec) French. My (Quebec) French is on par with the Frenchies of Quebec, except I got that slight English thing going on. Its ever so slight, but one could tell Im an anglophone. My dad's French was pure laine Quebecois though. And his English was pure Canadian English (Montreal English). My English goes from a Montreal English accent to a slight American one. Blame American culture...
  20. daughter is 14 and son is 12.
  21. My birthday was yesterday. Saturday, got home from work tired and greasy and in pain (chest and muscles hurt from cleaning the restaurant and from a cold). Took a shower and I took the family out to dinner to celebrate. We had a nice time. We saw Venom the movie when we got home. Yesterday, my actual birthday, came home from work tired and greasy and in pain (chest and muscles hurt from cleaning the restaurant and from a cold). Took a shower. We saw Alien and Aliens. My wife hates those movies so she went to bed early. My kids, twas the first time they saw it. Today. Sweet phoque all! Its Spring Break for them, and Im actually staying away from all members. Im being anti-social as I want some needed "me" time. Im feeling much better physically, but I need some alone time. Nothing to do with me aging one more year LOL. Ive just had a very very rough...month at work and with this cold...I just need to unwind. But tomorrow...we are going skating!!! Yeah...I was supposed to go into work but BECAUSE Im feeling better, but Im also feeling a little remorse for being anti-social...I will go skating with my kids!!! The wife could come too...but she dont skate. She could stay home and cook if anything.
  22. Sure... But..as @riviera74 and @dfelt have stated. And like you also have made a comparison with Mercedes Benz and the GLA... Cadillac, should NOT enter Buick and Chevrolet air space. The Yukon Denali enters Cadillac airspace and THAT is OK for Buick. Buick NEEDS cars in the upper echelon that touch Cadillac prestige to retain Buick luxury status. Chevrolet could enter Buick airspace to attract buyers in the Chevy showrooms. Halo cars like the Corvette and high speed Camaros (ZL1s and the like) were always expensive and entered Cadillac airspace. And those cars helped sell the rest of the Chevrolet line-up of Biscaynes and Bel Airs and Chevelles which also made Chevrolet introduce a new niche. The "SS" muscle car trims of their family grocery getters. And those "SS" trims entered Pontiac and Oldsmobile airspace. And the same thing happened over at Pontiac with their GTO and Trans Am offerings, but Pontiac also had personal luxury coupes to sell. And the same thing over at Oldsmobile and so forth and so forth... Zoom over to 2020. Same thing. Only that Pontiac and Oldsmobile do not exists anymore. Cadillac has been cheapened to sell more cars. That would be a 1980s mistake. The dealership network has to understand that Cadillac at one time, sold cars on the merit of LUXURY, PRESTIGE and QUALITY. By down pricing and selling Cadillac, LUXURY, PRESTIGE and QUALITY also goes DOWN. THAT is the nature marketing. And its done NATURALLY. When cars being sold at the SAME price level and NICHE MARKETS as even your OWN entry level, family haulin' brands, your own pricing DICTATES what MARKET you are gonna be playing in. What airspace you are filling... You (GM/Cadillac) is DEFINING that space... Mercedes is lucky and unlucky at the same time as M-B for a time now, has to do all that on ONE brand. Its a curse but a blessing. A curse because their marketing AND engineering has to be top notch. A blessing because if their marketing AND engineering is top notch, their luxury cars are the best, and THAT sells their lower end cars. If they sputter on one of the two, then both luxury and entry level go to hell. Cadillac does NOT NEED that headache... All Cadillac needs to do is just be...CADILLAC. The rest follows ON ITS OWN. Mercedes had to INVENT slogans like: "Engineered like no other" or 'Nothing but the best" Mercedes had to CONVINCE buyers that that is true. But they also had to deliver on that promise. Cadillac ONLY has to deliver on the goods. Cadillac invented only ONE slogan. "The Standard of the world" after they won the Dewar award almost 100 years ago. After that, Cadillac ONLY played in Cadillac airspace and "engineered their cars like no other" and were truly "nothing but the best" and the PEOPLE came up with this slogan "Its the Cadillac of..." By occupying high priced Chevrolet airspace, and low to mid-level Buick airspace...do you (CCAP) actually think that the Cadillac version will be at Cadillac levels of prestige, LUXURY and especially QUALITY? I personally dont think so.... The Cadillac Escalade is NOT at a Chevrolet Tahoe level or Yukon Denali level...but the Yukon Denali is at Escalade levels of luxury, prestige and quality. But for Cadillac playing in Buick and especially Chevrolet airspace...one gets the OPPOSITE reaction towards Cadillac. Ive said this before.... When a Cadillac ATS is sold SIDE BY SIDE, PRICE FOR PRICE, (more or less) with a Chevrolet Impala, with the Impala getting a more powerful engine than the entry level ATS and the SAME engine with a mid level ATS, with the IMPALA seemingly getting a NICER interior than the CADILLAC ATS...than its no bueno for Cadillac and its image.... But lets not fool ourselves. The Escalade truly is a Cadillac. The Chevrolet Tahoe is no where NEAR the Escalade... BUT...the Tahoe is probably gonna be a MORE luxurious, better quality vehicle than a possible Cadillac XT3... And THAT leads to PRESTIGE...which shoots Cadillac in the foot by trying to sell vehicles it has NO BUSINESS selling in the first place. Let Buick handle that niche. If Cadillac "needs" a small CUV like a XT3, then the XT3 NEEDS to have a PRICE TAG, that BEFITS a CADILLAC which in turns needs to have the ENGINEERING, TECH, LUXURY that BEFITS a Cadillac... Which means it needs to be EXPENSIVE as HELL...to support all that!!! And maybe a small CUV that is expensive as hell might not sell in high numbers enough for Cadillac to invest in...which means Cadillac might cheapen all those qulaities and THAT is no bueno... And if Cadillac wont do that, and if Cadillac might NOT sell enough expensive as hell XT3s, then either way...Cadillac needs to stay the hell out of that market. Mercedes on the other hand...has that luxury to play with. Produce and sell luxury vehicles and produce and sell entry level stuff. The luxury stuff is celebrated by folk just because and that alone sells the entry level stuff. GM has Buick. Different brands, Mercedes and Cadillac. Mercedes and Cadillac were a force in the luxury market pre 1940s. 2 World Wars forced Mercedes to be what it is today. Entry level, luxury and trucks. Military and commercial. GM was that too. But GM had other brands... GREED and STUPIDITY made Cadillac be what they are today. It works for Mercedes because war and the fight to survive made Mercedes re-invent itself. GREED and STUPIDITY ultimately made Cadillac fight for survival and the now need to survive...and be more like Mercedes. Mercedes might have copied Cadillac in the 1960s and 1970s to regain their place in the luxury world, Cadillac did not need to sell more lower priced cars like Mercedes did... and THAT is what is STILL killing Cadillac. That DUMB ideology that Cadillac needs to be in EVERY garage in all facets of North American life. It does NOT. Cadillac only needs to sell to the stupidly, filthy rich!!! Great rant? Stupid rant? Give me a break. Im still sick (but getting better) and I havent talk cars for a while...
  23. GM and Chevrolet is already, kinda saying goodbye to the Camaro. Maybe. No news on what will happen to the nameplate, platform, replacement/successor, refreshes... Chevrolet has been very very silent on what happens to the Camaro after 2023. Neither saying Camaro will end completely nor saying it will continue on. Neither saying the platform will end nor getting an update. Neither saying Camaro will live on, on another platform, or go fully EV, or becoming a sport CUV or becoming the Mach-E competitor named the Camaro E-ROC (electric race of champions)... With that being said..... Had Tadge Juechter been interested in creating the Corvette into a brand of its own, because he is really not wanting to go into that direction, this would have been a FANTASTIC idea...as a Corvette model. As another sports car sold under the Chevrolet name plate under Corvette, and beside or replacing Camaro...it ain t gonnna fly. The market wont support this. The Camaro has already died before. GM sports cars just under the Corvette have died... The Firebird has died. The Solstice that kinda tried to replace the Firebird died. The mid-engined Fiero that was to replace the Firebird but was sold alongside the Firebird has died. We could go into the reasons why those died (shoddy engineering choices blah blah blah...), but at the same time, the market then also supported many other sports cars. The Fiero, Firebird, had competitors with the Supras and 300ZX TTs, and Celicas, and MR2s and Mitsu 3000GTs/Dodge Stealths and Mitsu Eclipses/Eagle Talons...so even if GM/Pontiac flopped the marketing and engineering of their sports cars, the market supported all the other entries. But then...the market stopped with those too... And alas, the only one to survive was the Mustang...which was in grave danger in disappearing too at one time... The Challenger had died twice before, before being resurrected again to great success. But lets look at that scenario. The Challenger died the 1st time because of the gasoline crisis and insurance hikes on fast 2 door coupes (muscle cars) and folks couldnt afford them any more. Also, big cubed cars were shunned upon. Then it became a god awful Japanese badge engineered mess of a thing. But MOPAR got smart and done the Stealth and Eclipse. Then it returned...AS A MUSCLE CAR again. This mid-engined idea is FAR from being a muscle car. It seems to me that a 2 door sporty coupe needs to have muscle car intentions to succeed... The Camaro fails because its persona may be muscle car, but its execution is not. When it was on the Zeta platform, the interior visibility was a mess, but because it was new again, it was a success. Then it to the fantastic Alpha platform, and although its a great sports car, its NOT a Camaro... Visibility issues aside, there is another problem. The exterior design is OLD OLD OLD now. The movie transformers came out 3 years BEFORE the car came out. 2007 for the movie and 2010 Going by THAT...the exterior look of this "new" Camaro is already 13 years old and a decade old with the car itself. The Camaro needs a NEW look...like NOW.... But...if we look at the Challenger, which as an exterior LOOK is concerned, is just as old...but MOPAR has INVESTED it MARKETABILITY and MADE the Challenger COOL to be what its supposed to be...a MUSCLE CAR. Ford has done the same thing to the Mustang. The Mustang has been COOL to be a PONY CAR again since 2005. Changed the look of the Mustang with AWESOME refreshes, like the Challenger, changed the platform and the LOOK of the Mustang, changed its persona in becoming more European in flavour, but succeeding in keeping its AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR presence... This Chevy Speed is, to me at least, NOT what the doctor ordered for Chevrolet at this point in time. The Camaro could STILL live on as its numbers as is are NOT THAT BAD. Problems for the Camaro are stale. Retro looks from a1969 model has become passé and cliché. Crap visibility. Mustang on both accounts is a tad better and the Challenger is better still. Then finally, marketing has to improve for not only the Camaro, but for Chevrolet and General Motors in the grand scheme of things. The Chevy Speed as presented, is not a muscle car. 2 door American coupes need to be muscle cars is what I think the market is calling for. And the Camaro sales are really not that bad actually...in a market world of CUVs... The Chevy Speed should be tocthe M-E Corvette as was the Ferrari Dino to the bigger Ferraris from the 1960s. A cheaper alternative... to the Corvette brand had Tadge been interested in making Corvette a brand on its own. As a model under the Corvette beside the Camaro or replacing it wont work. As a Corvette brand on its own. I think Corvette could succeed this way. In the short term. Long term...well Porsche right now may be in a little bit of a pickle as 20 some odd years of expanding into the SUV world, their CURRENT fans know Porsche MORE for Macans, Cayennes and 4 door sedans then they are for what made them what they are b y getting these new fans into their showrooms in the first place. Great rant? Bad rant? Im sick and I havent talked cars for awhile. Give me a break...
  24. I have a very bad chest cold the last 2-3 days. Also, We decided to majorly de-grease and clean the restaurant the last couple of days, while I was sick, so that hasnt been too pleasant on every account. And on my birthday, we as a family did not do anything special, but my wife and kids love me and I am the luckiest guy around because of it...so yeah...thanx for asking my American brotha from anothah mothah. @USA-1
  25. I thought that the President made the phat phoque of a dictator promise with full pinky swears that he wont be testing and releasing anymore missiles into the air... I thought the President declared that he has achieved peace with that phat phoque. I wanna know what caused the phat phoque to go against that pinky swear that he had with the President? OK!!! I wanna know who released doves in North Korea's air space???!!! I want that man (or woman)...........FIRED!!!
