  1. There IS no downside... Even if range will NEVER be improved to what we got today, which is almost 300 miles. Not quite 300...its still NOT a deterrent for a lot of folk. In Greece, on the island where my momma grew up, even up until the 1990s...AD... there was not many gasoline stations around. And as we all know, Europe and Greece limit engine displacement, plus its an island where thousands of years have gone by where donkey and horses were the main transport, so even a Chevrolet Sonic would have a hard time to get around let alone a full sized, big blocked American V8 land yacht would be possible to be driven in, would be a downside. Here in America, we dont think twice about that...right? So, it be a downside to own a 427 Impala SS in Kefalonia, right? Or even a 350 cubic inch LT1 1996 Impala SS, right? The downside of owning an EV in Lancaster, might be a downside for you...but for you, in Lancaster, its a 1st world problem... Unless of course Lancaster, in 2020, is still like my mom's Greek village from like, the 1990s...BC. As in BEFORE CHRIST... If, in Greece, on that stupid island where my momma came from, there are people that consider buying EVs, why in the phoque would someone from the good 'ole USofA find it such a thorn on their side is beyond my comprehension? As you may or may not know, 2 summers ago I took the family to Greece, and yes, I talked to local yocals about EVs, I did NOT meet one sumbitch that was against EVs... anecdotal, sure, but maybe its the dumb Greek way of life that does not limit their spirits and their progress...I dont know...
  2. Dont forget married to baseball star Joe DiMaggio. I think she also had romantic links to Hollywood hunks Marlon Brando and legendary Frank Sinatra. The girl got around. The why part? The answer: The wholesome 1950s and the EARLY 1960s. Sex was taboo. Sex was forbidden. Sex was a hush hush thing. But there was innuendo galore though. And the image was blondes have more fun. Busty blondes especially. (I dont even think she was a natural blonde either) But the start of the sex pot, dumb blonde was well on its way and Marilyn was the leader. I agree with you Dfelt. I dont get the attraction either. But to be fair, she is a product of her time.... Im curious though, what dark secrets did she carry about Hollywood especially when its finally out in the open with this whole #metoo movement with the likes of Epstein, Weinstein, good 'ole Willy Billy Clinton, Prince Andrew, dare I say Donald Trump, and um....JFK...
  3. True. I havent noticed it because it is so subtle on the cars. And nicely done I might add. This CUV rear end though, to take your choice of words, has been uglified unfortunately. About the Cybertruck. The most popular consensus seems to be that the Cybertruck could be a truck from Blade Runner. I see it as an Aliens universe truck.
  4. And I could hear @ocnblu say from the top of his lungs up here in Montreal...(that is quite the distance from Lancaster) "Yeah! Spoiled Rotten!"
  5. I think it''s ugly as sin. But somehow I dont mind it either. But I agree, it does crap all over Tesla's signature & established design language. This will get buyers for year 1 and maybe year 2. But beyond that not very much. Its as almost as if this is a gimmick. A publicity stunt. Because this styling is NOT for everyone. I do not think that Cybertruck's design language lends to year after year after year sales gains. The novelty will wear off quickly I think.
  6. About the bolded part... The ass of that Aston looks like the face of that Tesla. Its unique because I think its the first time in automotive history that a car took inspiration of another for its ass...maybe Tesla's face is only good enough for Aston's ass? I see what you did there!!!
  7. As far as the Aston Martin design definition of what an SUV/CUV should look like....as an Aston Martin... #notimpressed Yeah. Id rather be looking at my nails too.
  8. Ford Flex. CUV or station wagon? In any case, same basic shape of a 2 box design of a 1960s , 1970s and 1980s station wagon while being the same 2 box design of an SUV...in any era. Tesla Cybertruck. Pick-up truck or SUV? Because THAT was done by Pontiac...and Im sure some other off road, adventure life style sport utility vehicle off-shoot from another manufacturer as well. And the Tesla truck is marketed as a pick-up, right? Anyway, if anything, the Tesla does really break the mold in what an SUV or pick-up truck should look like, so there is that.
  9. @Drew Dowdell Get well! Having a cold sucks. Especially when going to sunny California and coming back home east to crappy temperatures. PS: the song is full of shyte
  10. This thread has managed to blind me TWICE!!! I must admit...the interior's of both the RR and the Bentley are plush. They ought to be....
  11. ^^^ that aint half bad... Its the long wheelbase that stretches the SUV's length to make it sleek. It kinda reminds me of the Presidential Limo The Rolls Cullinan would make a great (visually) British Prime Minister or Royal limousine Beast equivalent!!! I do not know what platform the Cullinan uses...so that is why I said (visually).
  12. ^^^ Two things Id like to say about that: 1. More money than brains category? And 2. My eyes! My eyes!
  13. And OH BOY...that Rolls SUV is is uglier than ugly itself.
  14. Exactly. I said earlier that I am curious to know why they chose to style it that way. I read in another thread, or was it this one?, that this design is cost effective for cheaper manufacturing. I guess it makes sense??? Trucks are utilitarian. I suppose? No need to artsy fartsy them with any kind of style, I guess. Its not as if people in 2020 only buy trucks to haul shyte around the farm... And I LITERALLY MEAN SHYTE....MANURE But, like you said, it actually DOES look different. Who knows how many takers this will have? Only time will tell... We live in a very strange time...anything goes in 2020. EDIT: Then I got to see Balthy's post and I kinda want to retract my statement...but then again... We actually DO live in strange times...anything goes in 2020.
  15. Very funny!!! At first I was like I had to struggle to figure it out. And then I was like
  16. @ocnblu Talk to me buddy! What part of that post is it that perplexes you.LOL A rich dude that buys a hot dog and a coffee part? A rich dude that actually tips? Maybe you feel that a 2 dollar tip is cheap. That phoquing rich bastard should've tipped more? The Urus is ugly part and how I wouldnt want to be seen in it? The part where I gave him a thumbs up even though I hate his car? (At least the ugly thing has some fun attributes to it...the guy could have bought a stuffy Rolls or Bentley SUV...) The part that the dude actually still uses such an out-dated form of a greeting in that surfer gesture? Hey!!! I greet people that way too!!! The Urus/Uranus/Your Anus cliched joke?
  17. A Lamborghini Urus drove up to my drive through window today. It looked like your anus...it was dirty. It had salt grime on it. At least the dude is driving it... It also looked like your anus because the thing is phoquing ugly. Why would anybody want to be seen in that? Because of the high price tag? People have low standards I guess. To be fair, the guy, in his 50s, was well coiffed and was extremely polite. He just wanted a hot dog and a coffee. Gave the girl a 2 dollar tip and gave me a surfer gesture ? as I gave him a thumbs up for his ride. (Urus---Uranus---Your Anus---see what I did there?)
  18. In defense of the VW Thing... Its a VW bug underneath and its the German WW2 "Jeep" equivalent. Maybe Elon is preparing to go to war? It looks like a Tiger I in that the angles on it are sloped to deflect artillery shells.
  19. I wasnt interested watching the reveal. I wasnt interested in clicking on this thread, but curiosity took the better of me. Seeing Balthy's first post and second pic I thought it was a joke. I googled and now I see the joke is on me. I am more sorry than ever in clicking on this thread. But now, I am interested to learn why in the hell did Tesla designers decide to draw a car on Minecraft and 3D print it. I am interested to know the theory behind this design. But boy, this will not sell in the market place looking like that...
  20. And you are right, Balthy with your original comment. Not race cars... The BEV CUVs like the Tesla Model X and now the Mustang Mach-E, battery is on the floor, therefore high center of gravity not as a big of an issue so those could be tossed around like a race car. But then again, big, tall and heavy dont constitute race car qualities anyway...
  21. ^^^ Me too on the nose. I agree with your Charger comment.
  22. Im only 5 minutes into this video when I decided this video needs to be shared on this thread. Afterhours Autoline. It addresses the complaints about the naming in the first 5 minutes and I guess the reasons why Ford named it the way they did. At 5 minutes in, reasons why: Mustang is a recognizable name, folk with families could now own a "Mustang" and 4 doors sell and make money....but rest assured, the 2 door Mustang we all love aint going away, au contraire, more special editions are coming...and these products are too hot to talk about just yet...be patient about them... Ill continue listening to it now as well to find out more... Enjoy.
  23. About how it not be an Acura. It does not have the "jeweled" headlights...but yeah, I guess Hyundai could call that look, Acura inspired. And talking about Chrysler, which I love that car Blu posted, but I do prefer the previous year's fins better... How does the logo on the steering wheel not be a Chrysler?
  24. Up until Quebec made winter tires mandatory, I always had all seasons on my car. Now that I drive with winters...in the winter, I dont think Ill ever go back to all seasons for the winter. And my Acura got some of those electronic beeping and chiming safety devices. I turn those off myself as the Acura TL is pretty OK with the blind spot angles and the ass of the car aint too high either. I drive the old fashioned way, I use my eyes and ears and brain to guide me. (Not a knock on those who prefer electronic safety devices). The wife's Fusion has none of those things and like the Acura, the Fusion does pretty darned good as well with the blind spots and the vision sights so no electric safety aides are really needed. When Ive had rentals lately, back-up cameras have been available, and I didnt seem to be using them. Actually, I tested out the cameras and while reversing, I could get the car(s) and SUVs (Explorer,Edge,Escape, MDX) closer to a wall without back-up camera help than with actually looking at the screen with the camera on...and I got within a centimeter without hitting the wall with all the cars and SUVs... I was actually afraid that the picture on the screen was closer than what was pictured. In other words, I trusted my eyes more than the electronics... I did learn to park a full sized Chevy cargo van without side windows and with just the side mirrors and 2 small square windows waaaay out in the back doors when I first learned to drive... Sure, I shared with you folk how I wrecked two cars when I was 21 in a matter of months and lucky to be alive, but none of that matters...
  25. That Corvette Jay Leno/Tadge video said that they sold more than expected C7s in the Japanese market. Australians it seems are salivating for the C8 as GM will be doing right hand drive C8s for the UK, Japan and Australia. The C7 broke new ground for new buyers. I agree with you that the C8 will fetch even more. And not just with the younger buyers market criteria. But buyers from all walks of life in all kinds of marketing criteria. The C8 will get the Euro snob, will get the Japanese sports car enthusiast. The C8 will get the guy that collects Ferraris and drives his Ferraris once a year, who daily drives another Euro snob car, but now he gets a chance to actually enjoy DAILY DRIVING a mid-engine exotic-like sports car with no fear of it breaking down or getting it dinged with all the mid-engine car snobbery with his VETTE!!! The C8 will get Porschefiles too. I hope Corvette could keep all these new buyers. That means that the C8 should NOT be a disappointment in the quality control area...
