A catchy Canadian jingle of a Canadian business that repairs or replaces windshields that are cracked. There is something humorous about me posting that advertising. Or maybe not. They cant all be winners. LOL
  2. The Seville never caught my eye in the 1970s as a very young boy as some other 1970s cars did. I noticed that particular model when it was several years older in the early 1980s. Didnt think too much of it other than it being a nicer Chevrolet Malibu when the early '80s Malibu hit the streets. As a more or less 10 year old...I couldnt help but notice the similarities. I didnt find it offensive in the least. Just meh since I didnt I like the Malibu. Like at all. I did find it better proportioned and better looking than the Malibu, but too similarly styled to like it further than that. I didnt think it was a bad Cadillac. Just an underwhelming one. I think I saw Body Heat once. Maybe on TV. A very TV friendly version probably. Dont recall anything about it. I do remember the Beta and VHS art work/movie poster images on the cassettes as I passed by the shelf where the movie resided on at the movie rental store on my way to rent something else... PS: Yes...memory lane is a fun lane to be driving on from time to time.
  3. True. And I am assuming this with the C8 as Id like to think that its a smashing hit and a very sought after vehicle and these were all accounted for. Chevrolet didnt get a chance to produce many because of the reasons I stated above and that only fueled the need to own one. (coupled with the world wide praise for its speed performance)
  4. Its not about that I dont think. Its about these Corvette C8 would be owners FINALLY getting their hands on their cars finally after 3-4 shut downs because of union strikes, Covid delays and chip shortages only to have this fall upon them. First world problems that insurances and modern mass production technology couldnt handle. I agree. Still sucks. (To be them... As much money as these guys have to be buying these things in the first place...)
  5. As far as mid-engined cars go. I got tired of the boy racer, shock and awe approach of Lamborghini styling for mid-engine cars. Ferrari done ugly there for awhile too. They are still not out of that ugly funk of theirs. The latest generation Ford GT is at about the limits of what I could stomach on boy racer mid-engine styling. The Corvette C8 falls into this category as well. No Koenigsegg, no Pagani no Bugatti for me. I like that generation R8 with the new NSX because they look "classy". As if James Bond (the German and the Japanese version of James Bond) would be driving. I dont like the McLarens because they are just a tad too bland. And try real hard to emulate Ferrari styling while still trying to forge their own styling. Its like they want to do the original NSX take on it, but ironically, their original McLaren F1 accomplished JUST that. Ironically, the 1st gen R8 and NSX have the right mixture of boy racer and subdued styling that is unique to solely to them. Something the McLaren F1 already had accomplished waaay back in the mid-1990s.

Because I know plenty who do...but those same folk dont like the NSX, yet they look awfully alike. Kinda like that Marigold Desert weed...and the yellow daisy. ) Its all about perception . And perspective. Lets throw in a piss en lit in there for kicks and giggle. A dandelion just for you anglophones out there. Just dandy! Because one man's weed (from ugly duckling to swan analogy as well) could also mean entirely different things as...that may be just as beautiful to them.   8. I prefer the Alero as you could tell. LOL But I do agree that the front clip on the Alero looks small and odd. I like the way the back end looks. The over all shape of the Alero coupe appears to be more sleek then the G6 so I do prefer that. However, they both seem to have the same roofline. Or very very similar. I like both equally in that regard. When I saw this (Alero) concept I fell in love with it immediately. Hence why I bought one in 1999. I prefer the way the front end clip ended up being in the actual production car. It doesnt look weirdly small. But I was disappointed that the actual car did not look like the concept. It became bulkier in the back with a higher belt line. (Or the illusion of being) I preferred the sleeker, slimmer look of the concept (Or the illusion of being). But I do think the actual production Alero was one of GM's best designs of the 1990s.
  9. I never liked that Seville. I do have to say that it IS a good looking car to me. I just dont like it. I do not know why. Maybe its because to my eyes, it looks like a Malibu? Albeit a couple of years later? Which I never liked either. The bustleback Sevillle is even uglier to me. It wasnt until the 1992 Seville that I started to lust after.
  10. Mickey Rourke... He was such a good looking young man, he had to go screw himself with cosmetic surgery. I get it. Young and hot and women fall into your lap. No loss of work in Hollywood either. Age catches up, roles run dry (when talent is not the primary reason for gigs) and maybe the ladies dont come by anymore. Women in Hollywood have it worse than men do. Aside from all the sexual assault they have to endure... I never saw Wild Orchid. Was never a fan of that type of movie. (comedic sexual movies I liked. Like Revenge of the Nerds or Porky's or Bachelor Party...) I did see its predecessor 9 1/2 Weeks. Basinger is still one good looking lady. Didnt really enjoy the movie. I did enjoy Basinger. If it really was her... Although her ex Alec aged better than her. I dont think she done any cosmetic shyte done. Maybe minimal stuff... (enough with the chick talk...) Ive seen a fair share of Mickey Rourke's movies. Not too bad of an actor actually. The reason why I chimed in was to tell you that I loved him in The Wrestler.

The GM E crate motor is said to have 200HP with a 60 KW/H lithion ion battery. That '60s C10 has 2 e crate motors producing 450HP with 120 KW/H batteries. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2020/10/chevrolet-performance-launches-electric-connect-and-cruise-package/ LOL 50 thousand for restoration is moot as ANY car that needs to be restored regardless what engine will eventually power it that will be bought... Frame off restoration is almost a must. Especially if upgrades to the powertrain and everything else will be made. If the vehicle has a good runnin' motor...well it has a good runnin' motor, but when we are talking about crate engines then the price of restoring only goes up from there. Junk yard crashed cars could be purchased for their engines, but one really should know about engines to determine if the engine of a totaled vehicle is running good. And if that is the case, then chances are, most of the restoration and fabrication and all that will be made by the DIYer rather than a shop. An LS7 crate is 12 000. The LT1 is 8 500. The LT4 15 000. Dry Sump is 16 000 and change. JUST the engines. The Electric Connect and Cruise E Crate motors will probably be pricier than 15 000. More like 30 000 Im guessing. Like how the now discontinued LT5 cost. That C10 has 2 of them. Plus the 120 KW/H battery packs. Pricier even. THEN, we are talking about high voltage systems here. I dont think there are many DIYer hot rodders out there that could do THIS kind of thing on there own. So...specialized EV powertrain tech folk probably need to do this. yeah... Im retracting my thoughts of a job like this being cheaper... @David is best to wait for the 2024 GMC Hummer SUV...

Nevertheless, regardless where those sales are, regardless what kind of EV prices we like EV prices to be...Tesla has hit a sweet spot with prices in their Model 3 and Model Y EVs.
