Sure... Tesla seems to be doin' alright in Norway. In China. Tesla was doin' alright in Europe in general before VW took away part of that thunder but concerning EVs, Tesla in Europe is still bangin' on! Concerning the other American OEMs, they seem to have state of the art, leading EV tech as compared to the other European and Japanese OEMs. Asian makers in China, I dont where they stand, but Korean makers are behind in EV tech to the American ones. Hence why I say American automotive companies are leading the way. (I will get political later. Sorry. But necessary) But...concerning the infrastructure and ENERGY industry. The US has weaponized political ideology AGAINST EVs to which many Americans are misinformed about certain aspects of EVs. They keep on repeating the same bullshyte ideas... Tesla...has created its own infrastructure. We dont expect gm and Ford and Rivian and Lucid to do the same. But gm and Ford HAS slept with and been in bed with a long time with Big Oil... Now with that being said, when you got former Presidents wanting to keep coal alive and senators of certain states vacation in Cancun Mexico when storms hit and caused a shytestorm in the electric grid and had other governing members misinform and outright lie to the public of why it happened in the first place... When all that is happening INSTEAD of using all that brain power and money to create some sort of electrical grid that is renewable energy, to create a grid that CAN handle the switch to EVs... Well...what you get in the US is EXACTLY as how I explained it in my rant... Bitchin' and whinin' and meanderin' down the same ole path... Lyin' and cheatin' and misinformin' the public as to why NOT to switch to EVs... And the million and one excuses that come with it. Yet... Tesla Lucid gm Ford Rivian are leading the WORLD...HELPING the world SWITCH to EVs by creating technology for moving vehicles that could actually replace the internal combustion vehicle in a most seemingly way possible. ALL AMERICAN as you pointed out. AMERICAN. ELECTRIC Bald Eagles... Norway, Greece, Finland, China, Canada, Korea, Japan, France, Germany, Thailand, Viet Nam.... the rest of the world is trying to CREATE an infrastructure to accommodate the EV. Countries of the world, the leaders and the citizens of these countries are trying to find a solution for: 1. creating safe for the environment electrical production to sustain the new reality of EVs and batteries 2. trying to find a solution for creating batteries that are safe for mining and producing them as well as recycling. (American brain power is in this one too tho) 3. infrastructure. here in America, in Canada too...alls I here is Cross country trips (range anxiety): Lucid Air has a 500 mile plus range... apparently (Not official just yet) Not enough chargers (range anxiety): 50 000 public chargers and growing. 116 000 gas stations. In another 5 years, those chargers will have surpassed that gas station mark. Plus, chargers at home for those that could have one is ALWAYS an option as NEW construction in many many places in America is MANDATORY... Charging times...charging times... : Those times are getting faster for EVs. In 5 years, wont be THAT much of a difference as compared to gassing up. Expensive. : Well, Its not as if regular cars are getting any cheaper... Average transaction prices are 40 000. THAT is a short spit away from actual EV pricing. Good EVs at that. I mean, A Hyundai Kona is a good EV... It aint a Model S long range that does 0-60 in 3 point whatever seconds, the quarter mile in like 12 seconds or so with a range of 400 miles. Its still a good little EV that will haul all your family's needs... And THAT is RIGHT now... Will EVs go lower than that? Well...I wish Coca Cola could still cost a nickel and a loaf of bread a dime... and the movies a quarter... But we all know that aint happening. (I never saw those prices. Those prices was when my dad was a young kid) So... EVs WILL eventually cost as much as an affordable car was in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s... It WONT be your Cadillac Lyriq or your Hummer GMC or your Tesla Model S Plaid... It WILL be your Chevrolet Cavalier equivalent or your Ford Escort equivalent. Just dont expect it to be a real quick or have shnazzy options. THOSE you will have to pay for. It MIGHT not even BE from Chevrolet or Ford. It COULD be something from China... Maybe Chevrolet and Ford WANT to sell 70 000 dollar cars and trucks and SUVs no matter WHAT powers them and dont EVER want to return to the entry level stuff... But yeah... American car makers ARE leading the way in EV technology. Its too damned bad that some citizens dont even see that... But hey! EV infrastructure sucks Charging times suck EVs dont have good range EVs are this and EVs are that...

I dunno much about this actor. I had to google who he was. Turns out Ive seen a handful of her movies. (Oh...I also realized that the male version of Frances is spelled with an 'I' not an 'E' when I realized who the actor in question was after I was done googling...) But yeah!

Serious question: Do these include the home chargers? Or is that number simply just public chargers along a highway or in a shopping mall parking lot type deal? Not so serious question: Does that number include home fueling pods? Or is that number just gas stations along a highway or on a major street corner?

Well... NO! You see, there is too much bitchin' and whinin' and stallin' and meanderin' down the same ole path and NOT enough of what YOU just suggested (the bolded parts) to improve. How is that gonna happen when literally NOTHING is done to improve that... Why dont awesome American ingenuity and entrepreneurism and catch the bulls by the horns attitude that BUILT America to what it is today when the industrial revolution started 150 years ago do something about it? https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/tesla-pushes-norways-ev-sales-140113295.html Look it... Gasoline is awesome. Octane is a hell of a drug. The sounds of V8s is aural sex. Problem is, octane no longer rules our roads. Eco small micro displacement turboed, muffler muffled to non-existent sounds other than a few buzz buzzers buzzing here and there 4 bangers that rule our roads. Always with the across country road trips as an excuse... Shyte, in some cases, during special circumstances, FLYING is CHEAPER going from one side to the country the other than using ones own car. And AMERICANS DO LIKE TO FLY... Catch my drift. In other words.... Driving across the damned country is NOT the ONLY option anymore. Its not 19 phoquing 55... Its NOT Griswold's family truckster anymore... Christ all mighty... Shyte... Lucid Air is said to have a 500 plus mile range... COMMON MAN!!! Its 2021. It aint 2017. 5 years have passed when THESE arguments kinda made sense. In 5 years....things have changed DRASTICALLY in this area... The technology may still be in its infancy, but its evolving quite fast. And well....the ENERGY industry in the US is lagging their feet because the EV industry in the US is LEADING the way WORLDWIDE... Tesla Lucid gm Ford Rivian Lets all get real here. EVs are coming. They are already here. Laws are in place to stifle the internal combustion engine. The WORLD minus the United States of America sees it. The WORLD is adapting. The US is STILL bitchin' and whinin' and stallin' and meanderin' down the same ole path. Except for Tesla Lucid gm Ford Rivian Its up to American entrepreneurial and ingenuity know-how to MAKE the rest of your concerns happen. Even places poor like Greece are trying to find solutions https://www.autoweek.com/news/green-cars/a36619034/vw-turning-greek-island-into-an-ev-oasis/ The Asian world is FULL of all kinds of possible solutions... Google it. You will be amazed... This line of EV denial is getting quite old I must say. Sorry for the in your face post. But I am getting tired of this logic...

Yes. THAT is what I said. I used me as an example. I wouldnt last too long. But, there are restaurants that sell "gourmet" hamburgers at ridiculous prices. We are getting away from what we initially want to discuss, but at the core of things, people decide what they want to pay for an object. The gourmet burger is marketed in such a way that draws in people to pay through the nose for what was once upon a time ago, poor people food... Sure, these gourmet burgers put exotic mushrooms on them. Hello... mushrooms are a freakin' fungus that bored kids in France used to find in their forests. Indigenous North American folk also gathered in their quest to survive in the most natural ways possible... Soldiers are taught to know which ones are poisonous and which ones are not... IE... nothing that says exquisite dining in MY eyes. What does THAT have to do with anything here? Like I said, its people and the market that decide what is the value. The OEM provides the marketing and hype of the vehicle in question. Supra C8 Corvette Bronco Mustang GT500 Hellcat/Demon Challenger The hype is generated by the OEM. The price is set by the dealership The people decide what they actually want to pay to be the first to own that desired vehicle Hey...if (enough) people are dumb enough to pay 100 000 dollars for a freakin' Bronco, kudos to the dealership for catching fish on their line. And kudos for Ford (in this case) for creating SUCH a desirable vehicle... I DO agree with you. It IS shytty business practices. Just RESTRAIN yourself from buying into that price. But if there is one idiot willing to do so, you cant really blame the dealership for trying. As for I. I just WISH I could sell a (one) hotdog for 20 bucks... 2 hotdogs, fry and a coke. A cool one hundred dollar bill. (plus tax) And there is a line-up to the door like I have now? Do I need to express my feelings for that scenario?

Dealerships ARE a business. PRIVATELY OWNED businesses. Franchises. A restaurant franchise ALSO has the right to sell its food HIGHER than what the franchisor suggests. That is why a franchised store in a downtown core of a city sells its food HIGHER than in the suburbs. Higher rents. But that is a big maybe. Sometimes, restaurant franchises sell their food at the same price as the downtown core franchise DESPITE having lower rents and lower property taxes to pay and such. Ultimately, its up to the consumer to decide what he/she values. Problem is, there is a sucker born every minute, sometimes with more money than brains, that enable this practice. From businessman's point of view: I dont have a problem with that. Like Balthy said: If someone wants to pay 20 bucks for my less than a dollar hotdog. I too, will GLADLY sell it to him. Hey, Ill even give him free napkins to wipe his face. (Which I already do, but Ill advertise that napkins come with the hotdog to give him the illusion of value and me taking care of him because I care for him...) But...if I raise my hotdog prices to 20 dollars each, Im afraid Im going out of business real freakin' quick... Market decides. And if there are enough suckers out there, dont blame the business opportunity of the dealerships. Yes...they will test the market. If they catch a fish, they caught a fish. Sometimes it works out for them. Sometimes it dont. If they have the arrogance to test the waters that way. Let them. As a consumer though, I wouldnt buy from them. EVER. But unfortunately, there are many that dont abide by yours (@surreal1272 and @balthazar) and my way of consuming.

True. I honestly dont know. Its what they did. Friends and staff. It was a common theme with them. A another common theme: 4 and 6 cylinder cars. Does THAT make a difference? 4 and 6 cylinders versus 8? I dunno... Probably not. Id say it doesnt make ANY difference... I have never drag raced in my life. On the street or on the strip. This is where I truly respect YOUR opinion on this as I can tell, YOU are NO stranger to drag races. Seeing that you have mentioned (and showed us )your brother's Firebird. I understand, that my angle on this is flawed. Maybe not greatly as ICEV DO cool down on the drag strip. OK...I may NOW understand that they cool down for DIFFERENT reasons. EVs are NOT the consistent speed demons on a race track. Drag or track. Many factors why this is. Juice runs out very quickly too. Charging takes a loooong time. Are two other factors. But, racing EVs on any type of track has only been a thing for about a decade. Lets give EVs a chance to evolve like ICE. Im sure these kinks will be ironed out. ICE has been racing now for OVER 100 years. ICE has also been flying for OVER 100 years. ICE has nearly been perfected in that time. LOL

5 seconds or 30 seconds. Its too long either way. if the guy has an old school car with an old school manual (or automatic) and is ready to go...NOW but his car does 0-60 in 4.9 seconds and the quarter mile in 13.6 seconds @ 110 MPH and the other guy is in his brand new launch controlled machine that does 0-60s in 2 seconds flat and the quarter mile in 9.9 seconds flat @ 140 MPH Well....if the race is NOW...its NOW. Even if the launch control could be made in 4 seconds. The race is all but over before it even starts... THAT is the point. As I stated before, the Challenger's launch system is quick. The Corvette C8's system is not. But...because all modern supercars and sports cars and sport EVs ALL have launch control, the way drag races are done on the street and strip is that the races are NOT started NOW. But EVERYONE waits for launch control to be engaged... Moot point of launch control taking too much time to activate. 5 seconds or 30. Its just stupid that it takes 30 seconds for watts to feedom to be engaged. But the Hummer in vocation is not a Demon either... Its just super cool that the Hummer has such a mode. And its even more cooler that a 10 000 pound beast could achieve that kind of velocity.

Yeah... Ive heard of guys driving their hopped up Integras and Corrado VR6s to Napierville back in the day and sitting out at least half an hour to cool down before going on their first run. Point being to answer @ccap41 also When making high horsepower, whether stock or hot rodded, an engine makes heat. (Batteries produce heat too) And heat just kills horsepower. (Batteries dont perform well) Engines need to be as cool as possible as to maximize horsepower and therefore get the lowest times possible during a run. A car dragging if not cooled properly will just bog down and lose 2-3-4 even 5 seconds easily. Heavily modified or not... The more horsepower the car makes, the more drastic the cooling technics need to be made... The more modified the drag car is away from stock, the more engineering effort is needed to efficiently and sufficiently cool down the car. The more efficiently and sufficiently the drag car is cooled down, the more runs back to back it can run WITHOUT a penalty in time down the track. The more consistently it will race throughout the day with more runs it could accomplish. A BEV will simply shut down. Computers wont allow it to run. But...trying to make it sound like heat is soley a BEV problem and not with ICEV to run down a drag strip is being overly melodramatic.
-
Yes it is. As it should. It was brand new during the taping of that episode. LOL
-
That goes without saying about EVs needing 1 hour to cool down between rounds. But, an ICEV also needs time to cool down between rounds. On modified cars that push horsepower way beyond what came stock with the car. They will run 3-4 times back to back (if that) then the dragster driver will put ice packs and dry ice and all kinds of other neat tricks on the manifold to cool it down. Because heat on the ICE robs power... And yes, sometimes these ICEV will also take one hour before running again. Cars like the Demon Challenger have dope stock methods in where the computer makes use of the air conditioning unit to cool down the engine making the Demon run countless of times. Which I gather some hot rodder thought of first and Mopar used that trick on its car right for the show room floor. Or maybe it came straight from SRT brains. regardless though https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/organized-drag-racing-autocross/109331-how-do-you-cool.html That discussion is from 2002 and it matches what I have seen when I had gone to the drag races at Napierville 2 or 3 times about the same time. Maybe things have changed since then. It has been 20 years. But Ive seen this contraption on google just now. Cooling technics have changed in 20 years. This method doesnt require plastic bags...

You shouldnt really be street racing. But if you must, you must. Well....the Corvette in order to keep up with the WTF mode Hummer, it will ALSO need to engage its launch control. And both take a looong time to set up. Now...since the Hummer is such a heavy beast, maybe a straight up race with the Vette may not be a good idea as the Vette without launch control is still pretty fast. But when we factor in a P100D Tesla Model S, the C8 Vette may need the launch control to try and beat the Tesla. The Tesla might not really need launch control to keep up. I think the launch control set up in the Challenger is a quicker system to engage. Kudos to MOPAR.

Fraud? If 200 miles and under is new and this is 301? Could this be brought to the attention of the better business bureau or any other kind of consumer protection agency? If any of them actually gives a shyte to begin with? DId they sell the Vette eventually? Because insurance and loan debt on an unsold car in today's market where there are NO vehicles for sale and little to no revenue coming in due to the chip shortage WILL hurt the dealership. LOL MORONS!

Dirty scumbags or not, until idiots STOP biting into that kind of gouging, it will continue to happen. The most effective deterrent to those sh1tty tactics IS when NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY buys severely marked-up vehicles. Which also includes special cars. Like the first examples of a C8 Corvette (Z06 or Stingray) or GT500 Mustang or Hellcat Challenger entering the market for the first time etc let alone a freakin' Bronco. Yeah, a Bronco is a great vehicle. Ford did an awesome job with it and yeah, its a bonafide offroader like how the 1960s original was. Like you said, this dumb dealership will (hopefully) be stuck with it for the next 30-40 years. Like this dumb dealership with the GNX The owner's son who inherited the dealership from his dad, I think that is how the story goes, marked up the GNX that time just passed by. The idiots 30-40 years later went on Jay Leno's garage to try to sell it. Yeah...it was advertising to off load it. They werent showcasing it... The backstory. I read up on it...
-
One hundred thousand dollars for a Bronco? If somebody buys that vehicle from this guy and dealership, then that buyer deserves to be taken advantage of. I understand that the dealership shouldnt be asking for these kinds of prices because its a ridiculous mark-up . But I also understand that dealerships could ask as much as they want because its their right as a business... (its been driven 301 miles so as to avoid FoMoCo disciplining them...) That doesnt mean a buyer HAS to buy it. I dont care how much in need one is for a vehicle...one DOES need to exercise restraint.

Is this the new Z06? It appears to be. It is said that General Motors posted this on Instagram today. https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a37755096/this-is-the-c8-corvette-z06-undisguised/ I like it. I like it better than the Stingray. I dont necessarily like this colour though, but I think if this is the new Z06, then its a smashingly good looking C8. I want to see how it looks in yellow with C8R cues on it. Interesting to see how much more aggressive the Z07 package would be on this as I dont see an aggressive rear spoiler nor aero canards and aero stuff in the front. Rear diffuser in the back? Center exhaust? Which Z06 will have all that? Is this the "base" Z06? Lots of questions still need to be answered and the questions above are still just about the exterior design and engineering choices and specs. Engine choice is still a mystery. And with the C8 side air vents being what they are, and how they and up helping gulp in more air for the C8R and now with this reveal, one visual I enjoy and appreciate very much on the Z06 is this cue: Very vintage American muscle car what Chevy designers did there. ? Very keeping the original inspiration of shark colour and loosely based looks. ?

LOL Yeah, I get the misanthropic part. Im a social butterfly, but sometimes I hate people too. Im a conflicted person that way. More often than not, I like to be around people and socialize. Strangely enough, I get energized with stupid people. I want to get away from them as far as possible, but I use that interaction to fuel my conversations with people I like to be around with. The restaurant business is perfect for my personality. Im always snacking at the restaurant. Food all around me all. the. time. Although when I do grab a french fry here and there, or a piece of bacon, or a slice of pepperoni or cheese or a hot dog, I do it discreetly, away from my staff and clients. (open kitchen) I go in the back to stuff my face and wash my hands immediately after. I noticed on my days off at home, I crave snacks. I cant concentrate. Its like I have ADHD or something. I need to put something in my mouth to taste it. Im addicted... Though at home, I have started to snack on fruits this past year. THAT has spilled over at work. Im snacking on less and less hotdogs and bacon and stuff. I have my wife has forced me to bring fruits to work to snack on those. And so I do. Grapes. Cantaloupe. Oranges, tangerines, clementines. Ive noticed that my belly has gotten less bloated by doing that and it seems like I have lost at least 5-7 lbs in the process as well. I no longer seem to have a gut. I guess its healthier to snack on fruits. Who knew? -

I dont think I could EVER work from home. Too many distractions that would keep me from doing my job. 1. TV 2. Internet 3. Refrigerator and stove and if Im lazy to cook, many many snacks. 4. My house is what I consider a place for me to relax and get away...from work. I could NEVER bring myself to marry my house with my job. Nope! Couldnt do it! -
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of yet another corrupted corporation. As the world turns, the guiding light that leads these corporations is greed and more greed. Its like these CEOs that run these companies act like they only have one life to live. Discarding all of our children's safety all in the name of everything that is wrong with too much money. They think they are bold and beautiful, but really, they are dumb and dumber. Hopefully justice could be served. Is he the only one that is going to be charged? Scapegoat? Or will others follow? No doubt that it seems like he is guilty, whether he is a scapegoat or not, but he definitely wasnt alone going rogue. He was encouraged by the rotten corporate culture that enveloped Boeing in the last decade or two. Remains to be seen what comes next.

Just as I was about to post how lonely the Buick looks, I scroll down just one post, and its already been noticed by you. I guess you really are 2 quick. But...the REAL question is: are you 2 legit...2 quit?
