So it would basically be something you'd have to have on your home insurance policy? I could get down with that. I have no issue with "military style" gun in the public's hands, especially if what we talked about were put in place. If there were background checks, mental health checks, proper registration, proper security, then why does it matter what the firearm is? Now, if none of that were to be put in place and people could get anything all willy-nilly, then I can definitely see your point.

I tried having a civil conversation about what we can or should do about gun violence. I asked for your opinion. You opinion was "go look at what other countries are doing". I'm not looking up ~195 countries' policies on gun control.
-
Simply insufferable.

I agree with mental health checks prior to a purchase. I don’t see anything wrong with that. Every firearm I’ve bought has come with a lock. Im sure that’s due to laws, because they’re not spending the money on locks just for the heck of it. Serious question, how does one show proof of a gun safe? I don’t know why I bothered trying to have a civil discussion with olds.

I'm fine with all of that, but you're saying the government should be allowed inside my house to check for my gun safe? Or if something bad happens they can then check and see if you had a safe or not(which would be too late)? How do you go about a mental health check? Because, I think this is easily the most important aspect and issue here. Do you have continued checks yearly? every X years? IL has concealed carry training(which I've gone through) but they do not have training to just buy a gun. I'm not opposed to some form of training prior to purchasing your first firearm. It's wild in some states. So I obviously work in Missouri and live in Illinois (I've said this before) and therefore I've had coworkers live in MO. We've talked about this in the past and its insane how easy it is to buy a gun in Missouri. Anybody can just go buy a gun and walk out with it that day. In Illinois you must have a FOID card prior, 72hr (or a week - I think it's changed sometime in the last 10 years), and there's a background check prior to the waiting period. I'm not asking what other countries do. I'm asking what YOU would do about the problem. You're very vocal about the problem but you don't state what you would do to fix it. It's easy to say there's a problem but offer no solution. And yes, I am open to ideas. Why wouldn't I?
-
Genuine question here. What do you think should be done about gun violence? I, too, believe there is an issue, but don't exactly have a good solution. I'm all fine with background checks, FOID cards(firearm owners identification) and waiting periods. IL has all of those already and has for as long as I can remember. What are you and everybody else's' solutions? I'm open to opinions.

The joke is on you. No religion is "legit". There are just some with more money than others.
-
There's no point in trying to convince you of anything. You have you opinion. That's good. I'm okay with that.
-
I guess i didn't take it that way, but I could see how one would. I understand your point here. Are they independents? If so, they'd have my vote, too.
-
No, it wasn't. It was about putting the best candidate in place rather than somebody just because of their skin color. i certainly don't want some white person to get a job just because they're white. The best qualified person should get the job.
-
I honestly just don't really care. I'm not about to convince you of anything nor do I feel like I should try. It's simply okay that we don't all align on everything. I didn't know who he was prior to his murder. The internet was just spammed with everything Kirk, so of course I saw videos and a majority of them was him saying we need to keep talking(along with the conversation at hand). That's what happens when you only hear a part of the quote or conversation.
-
I don't agree with him on everything, I doubt most completely agree with any politician 100%. But, one of the guys biggest points was to keep talking to each other. Keep the dialogue going. We can have opposing views, but we need to keep talking and not building these walls between each other. A lot of people here would rather build the divide rather than have good conversations where both parties learn a thing from the other.

What, exactly, is the difference? You hope he dies but you don't wish he dies? That's some semantic BS if I've ever read it. It's just wild to me that you'd "hope" somebody dies. Maybe he's a horrible person and I should hope for the same or maybe he's a great person and doesn't deserve your menopause-rage.

What in the fck are you talking about?

I know absolutely nothing about the guy, but wishing he was dead is pretty messed up.

There is also a Kona Electric(261 miles range) and Niro EV(253 miles range) that start at 33k and 39k, respectively.

It isn't nearly as cut and dry as you're making it out to be. Below is a much better breakdown of how it was actually funded (Lumen Field, at least). A breakdown of the funding package: $130 million private investment led by Paul G. Allen $127 million from new, sports related lottery games, similar to the Mariners’ baseball-themed scratch games $101 million in sales taxes collected in King County attributable to events in the stadium/event center $1 million per year of in-kind advertising for the new lottery games will be provided by Paul G. Allen $56 million from facility admission and parking taxes $15 million from extending King County’s share of the existing hotel-motel tax Paul G. Allen agreed to pay for any construction cost overruns All excess stadium revenues will fund youth athletic facilities throughout Washington State in addition to a $10 million contribution from Paul G. Allen $14 million of the public contribution will come from interest earned on the $50 million private contribution from Paul Allen As an added measure, the debt on the Kingdome was retired, freeing property taxes for other purposes The way that reads, to me, is the sales tax is only for those who are attending events at the stadium. If that is correct, it seems like a fair way to publicly fund the stadium, by its users.
-
I agree that billionaire owners should never get public money for their stadiums/arenas/fields. With that said, I love sports. I follow the NFL, MLB, NHL, NASCAR, and F1 very closely. However, not every stadium is funded by public money and certainly not 100% of the bill is public money. Three NFL stadiums were paid for by private money.

I'll stand by all of them...except one... 🤷♂️

Using Google Maps isn't exactly an "old fashioned way"... CarPlay for maps, be it Apple Maps or Waze, is just far too convenient to not use, IMO. Also, you don't even need to look at the screen. You can just listen to the directions without ever taking your eyes off the road.

I prefer the Hyundai's exterior styling quite a bit more, but this is still a handsome sedan. Ideally, I much prefer the refreshed Genesis more, too.
-
It also has less than 6k miles on the odometer…

In all seriousness though, the Hyundai Genesis R-Spec 5.0 is a really cool car. I saw one of these the other day and completely forgot they existed prior to Genesis being its own brand. I do love me a large sedan with a V8 under the hood.
