GM News: GM's Upcoming Electric Onslaught
surreal1272 replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
Well it sure as $h! won’t be because of this interior you have yet to see yet are quick to damn. You also spoke of quality like somehow the Tesla is a bastion of reliability and quality when it has been the complete opposite since day one. It’s interior is cheap garbage too. Don’t get me wrong. I like that Tesla has forced the big boys to up their game but they have a ways to go before they reach the quality of even Cadillac despite all of your naysaying. Hell, I’m still look for a Daimler EV that measures up but they yet to produce that future dud because of delay after delay. Yet you have zero information on the Cadillacs specs and performance. Might I ask where you got your crystal ball or is talking out of your posterior just easier to do than presenting actual facts? Good grief. Try to make the trolling not look so obvious next time.- 282 replies

GM News: GM's Upcoming Electric Onslaught
surreal1272 replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
Yeah I remember the Tesla 3 having similar preorder numbers yet has not sold near that. It also did not eat into its alleged competition. The Cyber Truck will not sway any serious RAM/Ford/GM owner just because it ugly as hell. Simply the ugliest damn thing on wheels I have ever seen released to the masses and that’s saying something. Your second paragraph doesn’t even merit a response because you choose to focus only on the domestics like Daimler won’t take the same kind of hit.- 282 replies

LOL! Then consider yourself lucky. I avoided those particular places like the plague in Phoenix and here in NC. Just saying that its an issue in a lot of places these days and the convenience of just letting your EV charge up overnight at home cannot be discounted just because one hates EVs. And thanks. Really happy with the ride, especially since I performed the Sync2 to Sync3 upgrade. World of difference there.

Talking about US sales since that is what SMK is referring to.

I appears I had the UX and the NX crossed up. It’s the equally hideous NX thats the RAV4 twin. So the CT4 will sell a tick less than the A Class did in 2019 (which only sold just over 17K units). Nice to know Cadillac won’t be the only ones struggling to move certain sedans.

Yeah it just sucks when you have the convenience of refilling your car at home while you sleep and not have to deal tweeters and crackheads while you spend five minutes pumping that flammable liquid.

No, no, no, and yet more no! Too many better options over this overdressed (and uglier) version of a RAV4.

Cadillac News: 2021 Cadillac Escalade Leaks Out
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
That’s kind of my problem with it. It’s not necessarily ugly but this is a $100K flagship luxury SUV and that front end just doesn’t convey its lofty price tag and perceived expectation in the marketplace. -

I agree with some others on here. While the interior is huge step up and there are some nice upgrades available (like that AKG audio and FINALLY IRS), the lack of a Blackwing option and a rather dull front end (when compared with past iterations) just falls flat for me. The front end looks very "Traverse" with a splashier grill to me. -

No worries. These sites can be tricky with older model cars lol. -

@balthazar--From that same site (that you used) when looking up a different year H2. The one for 2003 is wrong. https://www.newcartestdrive.com/reviews/2005-hummer-h2/ -

That is conflicting info on the length. Every other site says 203 inches and I checked at least ten different sites on this. The site you're using seems to be the only one measuring it at 189", which seems obscenely short. -
Cadillac News: Cadillac's Super Cruise Gets Upgraded
surreal1272 replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
You noticed that too huh? Funny how he didn't mention the Germans while he was giving that backhanded compliment to GM and Cadillac. -
Thanks. Money as no object, I’d the CT6 eight days a week but I am quite happy with my ride and the installation turned out to be easier than most aftermarket stereo swap outs I’ve done.

So recently bought another DSLR camera after a three year break. Got a Canon 6D Mark II and took a few sample shots with the new lens I picked up today. More to come because I am digging the hell out of this camera and the Flex makes a great test subject.
-
Very sharp ride Casa. Congrats! The CT6 is a hidden gem in the Luxury world that should have never been hidden. Saw a TT3.0 the other day in gun metal gray and it was really sharp. I love that it will never be confused with any overpriced German Luxo-barge. Here's hoping that the only real change coming for the car is in the name. Escala would definitely work here.

To add to the upgrade details, apparently the rear view camera still acts flaky and won't come up at times. Not sure what the issue is but its something I'm going to look into since I have a few theories on it.
-
It really is. The strange part was having to contact these folks for them perform a remote operation to get it to "jive" with my car. The systems have to programmed according to your VIN (failure to do so means I could use on screen climate controls for example). That process was a little unconventional because it required a Windows PC (which I do not have) to be connected from its USB port to the OBD port of the Flex while they performed this "operation" remotely using a program called "Forscan". My work around was to set up Boot camp on my new iMac and literally bring it outside to the car and connect it that way at 10 PM (they were on Hong Kong time) while it was freezing outside. Like I said, very unconventional.
-
The phone part was important but having a better system overall is even more important. Sync 2 was flaky with the backup camera and not near as responsive as Sync 3. Here’s hoping that was worth the dough I shelled out for it.
-
After I bought my Flex and posted here, I had stated that I really wished that it had the Sync 3 system instead of Sync 2 and @dfelt alluded to upgrades being available in that manner. After a little research, I pulled the trigger and did just that. Just installed It today but they sent me the wrong power module cord for the USB hub so no Apple CarPlay for now until they send that to me. Otherwise, here it is...

Subaru News: Subaru Plans To Go Electric-Only By the Mid-2030s
surreal1272 replied to William Maley's topic in Subaru
Yes because people like yourself have been lined outside the doors of your local Subaru to get your hands on one of those boxer engine cars. Going EV will just kill that notion I guess. -
Good grief autocorrect. "Capsule" instead of "cause"? Way to go Skynet.
