Jeep News: 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Shows A Green Side
surreal1272 replied to William Maley's topic in Jeep
No one, and I mean no one, buys a Wrangler for its cargo carrying capacity. That’s what the GC is for. Oh and yes, 800 lbs. heavier is “yikes” but it is also the most powerful model in the lineup. -
Fiat News: FCA's Upcoming Small Cars To Switch To PSA Group Architecture

I’m under 50 (just barely lol) and I knew about them. Also, younger folks have parents were around for that And word of mouth is a powerful thing. It is what doomed Fiat from the start. -
Fiat News: FCA's Upcoming Small Cars To Switch To PSA Group Architecture
surreal1272 replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
Let me make this simple for you. Peugeot will die a cruel death just like Fiat if they try to peddle that mess here because like Fiat, most folks in the U.S. have not forgotten about the Peugeot dumpster fires of the 70s and the 80s. That is a stain that does not go away. Any attempt to put a Dodge or Chrysler skin on Peugeot guts will be the 100% death of Dodge and Chrysler, above all other scenarios. Regarding stale product, FCA had ample opportunities to invest in new products for Dodge and Chrysler and didn’t because they insisted on peddling their own Fiat and Alfa garbage to US buyers. How’d that work for them btw? Oh and please stop with the sales comparisons and such because all of that “logic” can easily be applied to Mercedes as well but shhhhhhh, we don’t talk about Benz like that do we? -
Actually its not stupid to compare it to a V8 base Camaro or Stang because technically the GT86 starts around the same price as the four banger Stang and Camaro. And while $10K extra gets you a V8 and better driving bits for the pony car, its gets you jack squat for the GT86. Sorry, that is a terrible bang for the buck ratio when you start adding what what each car actually gets you.
-
For more than $1000 LESS, I can get a 6.2L V8 Camaro. As otherS have said, get the base model 86 if you want a decent deal. All the options add up to about $8K too much especially when none the options involve more power. Listen, don’t get me wrong here. Price aside, I get the appeal of the car. As a former MR2 owner, I get it. I also get value and this car, with options, is not a good value at all.
-
I can get a better driving experience for the same and possibly cheaper coin.

$34K for a 205 HP four banger with no torque? Hard pass.

Note the use of quotes around it as if YOU were speaking it (you already knew that though). It’s not that hard to discern what was meant here. -

It is definitely a step in the right direction, where the Bolt is concerned. -

I love how you COMPLETELY MISSED THE POINT in my statement about design and tried to confuse and conflate the issue. I didn’t have to dig myself out at all. I just had to dumb it down for you since you weren’t getting the hint. The issue, from the start, has been your automatic disdain for anything EV, your constant bitching when it even dared mentioned on any other thread (random thoughts anyone?) and then coming to threads like this one and trolling, like you always do. Just to be clear, you are the pot in a room full of kettles. ”America First!!”* *”Except EV companies and companies that piss off Das Feuer. This comment (like some off my rides), was made in Mexico.” -

You might have a point except for one simple little fact. The fact is that it could look like the most ground breaking design ever and you would still take a dump on it because of its power train. And we are just talking about a silhouette here and a CUV on top of that. ALL CUVs have that same basic profile much like how all pick ups basically have the same damn profile. It’s literally by design. How much more “groundbreaking” could it possibly be? Again, the design wouldn’t really matter anyway. You will never accept it. Stop trying to act like you are giving some kind of “objective” opinion here when your history suggests otherwise. Oh and I don’t know what you are talking about in regards to the stupid “tag team” remark. I don’t care what someone else does here and I am not bound by any of their posts, votes, or anything else for that matter. Stop being so thin skinned. And you missed that point by a mile. It wasn’t just about the Bolt. It’s your general disdain for EVs, even when they are AMERICAN companies. You bash them at every chance yet will bitch on other threads about buying American and America first. ’F” that. -

You mean the same design language used by just about everyone these days? Seriously, it is sad how someone always talks about "America first" and "buy American" when its convenient to them yet slams it at every turn because, oh my god, EVs. Troll somewhere the F else for once. -
Certainly more enjoyable than jokes that call certain folks the “C” word.

Del Taco is worlds better than Toxic Smell. Haven’t eaten at the Bell in twenty years. Sucks that they don’t have Del Tacos here in NC though. I do miss that about Phoenix. El Pollo Loco rocks!

Interactive Review: 2020 Volvo V60 T8 Polestar
surreal1272 replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
The CLA is as short compared to the V60 as the V60 is to the E Class and you totally missed the point of it any way. You were wrong on the speed limit (only took me thirty seconds to find the numbers posted above from another publication) and as William said, that limit doesn’t mean squat unless you live in Germany. The V60 weighs pretty much the same as an E Class wagon (depending on trims). Despite its much heavier weight and “only” a four banger under the hood, it moves pretty damn well and at a faster pace than that larger and equal weight E Class. BTW, the Tesla Y is twelve inches longer than the Volvo so if we can’t compare the Volvo to the E Class, then you can’t compare it to the Y. And as unpredictable as a Volvo can be, in the reliability department, Tesla’s (on average) are even worse. Edit: While starting in 2021, a Volvo’s will be speed limited to 112, this is a 2020 model which is not. Still a pointless argument unless the Autobahn is your main route to work everyday.- 36 replies

Interactive Review: 2020 Volvo V60 T8 Polestar
surreal1272 replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
Well good thing its not FWD. It’s AWD and while you rag on the lack of cylinders, you skip the fact that it is over 400HP and pulls like a train and is faster off the line than the Benz E450 (with a price that is only slightly higher than the CLA45 AMG with its FOUR cylinders and less power). And where in the article does it mention a 112MPH limit (which doesn’t mean $h! anyway in the U.S. given that we have this little thing called “speed limits”)? Oh, thats right. It isn’t limited to 112. Here are the numbers from another source: TEST RESULTS Rollout, 1 ft: 0.3 sec 60 mph: 4.4 sec 100 mph: 10.9 sec 130 mph: 21.7 sec Rolling start, 5–60 mph: 4.8 sec Top gear, 30–50 mph: 2.4 sec Top gear, 50–70 mph: 3.4 sec ¼-mile: 12.9 sec @ 107 mph Top speed (governor limited): 131 mph Braking, 70–0 mph: 152 ft Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.96 g If you’re going to slam a non-Mercedes car, make sure you slam it with actual facts.- 36 replies

Interactive Review: 2020 Volvo V60 T8 Polestar
surreal1272 replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
Missed the point by a country mile. We will skip the part where, duh, yes the CLA is lighter. That’s because it’s a smaller car and add to the fact that the Volvo is a hybrid. It does not change my point or statement whatsoever. The time you spend tearing down anything without that precious tri-Star on the hood is simply baffling.- 36 replies

Your FWD assertions are irrelevant since this an AWD only model. The Mercedes CLA 45 AMG doesn’t seems to face the same scrutiny despite its FWD roots though. I wonder why?- 36 replies

Easy there snowflake. It’s called a joke. However, it’s amusing that you think it’s somehow okay to be a serial 30 year serial adulterer so long as he being faithful while he’s president (that you know of). And for the record, everyone with a brain knew that Bill was a horn dog but the GOP decided to spend $50 million (courtesy of the American taxpayer) to prove that he lied about getting a blowjob. I will say this. At least Bill and his dog wife had the balls to testify in person in front of Congress, unlike Mr. Written Answers only. Sorry but the truly best joke here is you for not getting the joke in the first damn place. “Sleepy Joe” You misspelled Trump there.
-
“Mr. President, we have Stormy Daniels on line one” LMMFAO! You have to be high out of your mind to act like the p**** grabber himself has been “faithful”. That’s the best joke of the thread! And you haven’t “heard a whisper”, because they’ve been too busy screaming it.

Ram News: 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Continues FCA's Hellcat Obsession

Except he never he said he was mystified as to where they got the inspiration from. He actually made it pretty clear that it was 20th century inspiration on a 21st century body And it doesn’t really work for him. Seems that point flew right over your head. Twelve years in Arizona and tons of Wranglers rolling around, clean as a whistle with not a speck of off road dirt to be seen on them. Take that however you want. -

So because he doesn’t care for the throwback look, he doesn’t have a clue? Referring to a 54 year old version of it doesn’t really take away from his complaint. I’m with Balth on this. While nostalgic, that thing was a pile back in the day, even by 1966 standards. Of course, some don’t have a clue and just cling to the old ways and the old days. -
