My uncle has a 2020 model and loves the lane assist feature (he’s 76 so quite helpful for him). Don’t know how he lives with that CVT but at the same time, he’s not trying to drag race anyone in it.

Cadillac News: Cadillac Going Back To Names for EVs
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
You would do wise to remember your OWN words. Everything you have said is nothing but hearsay and therefore not admissible yet you constantly speak like it is the Bible truth. I am merely speaking from an actual experience from an actual owner That happened literally two days ago at my own home. What do you have? My guess is nothing.- 74 replies

Cadillac News: Cadillac Going Back To Names for EVs
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
It’s funny how you think your hate for EVs means that everyone else hates them too. Example? The man who appraised my home yesterday was driving a Tesla 3 while also owning a Ford F-150 Crew. Because he drives around town a lot and the Ford is a gas sucker, the Tesla saves him so much grief with its 300+ miles range. He really loved the instant torque off the line. He actually loves both and realizes they have different uses and purpose. He said he had zero regrets about buying the Tesla. The point here is that your constant attempts to speak for everyone in regards to EVs is just pure bunk.- 74 replies

“You do get that it’s NOT always about bumps in horsepower right?” Corrected for omission.
-
Goal post moving doesn’t change the fact that the Escalade has routinely outsold the GLS. Your future guessing will not change that fact with these new models coming out, they will continue to sell well and routinely outpace the competition. And you have a lot of nerve holding fleet sales against GM while Mercedes whores out as many E Class taxis as they can produce and the sheer number of fleet sales of the S Class is equally staggering. When Benz does it, it’s good. When GM does it, it’s bad. Just more of that fanboy “logic” I guess.
-
And that Tahoe outsells all of its competitors while the Escalade outsells all of its competitors. Maybe GM knows something you don’t? (Again looks at the Mercedes lineup and wonders what you’ve been smoking).
-
You do get that its always about bumps in horsepower right? If it happens to way less and the current engine has been updated to make better use of that horsepower, then it is still a solid gain and a tactic that is utilized by all makes including Benz. And again, you talk about looking good or not looking good while not saying a word about the ugliness of your favorite brand (again, looks at the new GLA and holds back vomit).

Cadillac News: 2021 Cadillac Escalade Leaks Out
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
Pretty much what I’m getting at as well. It’s not ugly, but its an Escalade. It should carry a little more “wow” up front. -
Oddly, it doesn’t bother me. I don’t care for the current gen nose and think the 07-13 models looked better. I do wish they not do a spot on match with the trucks though. At least the last two gens ditched that approach to better results IMO.

Cadillac News: 2021 Cadillac Escalade Leaks Out
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
Speaking on just the front end, no. Just no. The interior looks to be a nice leap in style though. I will have to give $h! about one thing though, the slab tablet look across the dash, aka Benz style. Seems like there was bit of a criticism in regards to the Palisade having that look and that is true here as well. -
Chevrolet News:Chevy Trailblazer Pricing Released
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
A nice starting price point but I don’t care what it offers inside and out when there is a 3 banger under the hood. That is the hardest of “NOs” from me. -
The interior looks to be a huge jump from the current models. Very sharp. Now my question is, how in the hell could this interior (or at least a variation of it) NOT be in the Silverado/Sierra? You really need to start informing yourself before trolling this hard. Everything is completely new from top to bottom.

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes Debuts the 2021 GLA

Aaaaaaand, boring. -
The 2.0 Turbo troubles are not surprising. Power delivery has been a common complaint no matter the car by Hyundai. It’s just garbage.

Cadillac News: Cadillac CT6 DHam Production to End in January
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
Comparing Apple and Amazon to any car manufacturer, much less Tesla, is the very definition of an “apples to oranges” comparison when it comes to successful business models. -

Reading is fundamental. Not understanding why EVs could possibly succeed is just mental. -
Cadillac News: Cadillac CT6 DHam Production to End in January
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
All companies are in the business to make money but what sets some of them apart is the non-stop bean counting yet still wasting money and R&D (see the money spent on developing the CT6). Furthermore, RWD or FWD, at least the Aviator has real engine options with power to boot. Lincoln has somehow done what Cadillac should have already been doing (and no I am not a fan of Lincoln or the Aviator). What’s the XT6 rocking bedsides being sat upon the wrong platform (again the bean counting by forgoing the Omega platform)? That 3.6L that’s in just about everything else GM makes? The point here is that you can make money and still act like you give a damn about the little things. GM has a mixed record with that, at best. -

I agree about the ride. The chassis is button down tight and could see that as a daily driver for many years. And I can only imagine the pull on that Blackwing. Again, maybe one day lol. -

In a world where everything is free, absolutely. Sat in a 3.6L a while back and loved the space it had and how everything was laid out. If not a Blackwing, a TT 3.0L AWD will do just fine. Maybe in a few years, they will come down to a price that might entice me. -
Just no. Burn that CVT to the ground. Would rather have the outgoing Cruze Hatchback or Mazda 3 Hatch than this mess.

Smooth move GM. Cut out the top of the line sedan that you never bothered to properly market after millions spent developing it. The good news, though, is that it will lead to some smoking deals on a nice ride. Yeah, just skip over the fact that more than half of those S Class sales were fleet sales. I do agree about the XT6 and Omega platform though. Should have happened but the GM bean counters and Barra have their heads still stuck up their own asses. Just baffling to let that happen with Cadillac. Just give me a Blackwing CT6 and call it a day. -
But its a convertible vomit!! Blows right out the back of the car lol!
