Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
surreal1272 replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
Meanwhile GM Authority seems to echo the same issue, the UAW strike. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2019/12/gm-may-have-planned-to-show-cadillac-ev-at-ces-2020/ -
Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
surreal1272 replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
So while it’s 100% true that the C8 was delayed directly by the strike, It is not possible for the same to be true of a Cadillac EV because....well its an EV and you hate EVs. Maybe its me that needs to sell you a bridge because I noticed you provided not one bit of proof to back up your claim. -

Your lack of reading comprehension is simply baffling. I’m sure you read the article but just in case. Which also delayed the C8 btw but who cares about facts when you can continue to troll a thread that you whined into existence? -
I would like to add that the dealership, where I used to work, had a half a dozen in the mid 30s.

Quite a few Blazers out my way but have not spotted one XT6 and don’t care if I ever do. You mean like Mercedes does with their cars? Sounds about right to me.

Cadillac News: Cadillac Going Back To Names for EVs

I bet you don’t have a clue who is losing money on what unless they tell you. I suspect the same applies here in regards to the NSX and Corvette. The Vette itself has never been a money loser for Chevy and GM and there is no reason to think that is now.- 74 replies

Cadillac News: Cadillac Going Back To Names for EVs
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
Could have, would have, should have, but VW hasn’t. That’s the flaw in your entire premise while trying to take a $h! on GMs EV efforts. It’s the same argument you were using for Daimler over the last two years until they said “Oop, we are not quite ready to fail yet”. Now you want to bring up Porsche, VW, or whoever the hell else suits whatever trolling argument you are trying to make here. Yeah, the best or nothing is definitely ringing true here.- 74 replies

Cadillac News: Cadillac Going Back To Names for EVs
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
He only makes those kind of statements because its easier than acknowledging his favorite brands own shortcomings. What does being “double the size” have to do with anything? How big was Tesla? How big are they now? Maybe size has not jack to do with whether one can succeed on such a front and has more to do with the ability to successfully execute said plans.- 74 replies

Cadillac News: Cadillac Going Back To Names for EVs
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
What in the hell does Mercedes total sales versus Tesla have to do with anything? Benz has 19 models to Teslas 3. It damn sure better outsell them. Now show us the number of Mercedes Benz EV sold versus Tesla because it DOES matter, since you are the one bringing up sales numbers yet again, when you think it’s convenient to your goal post moving. And the rate at which the change does matter, just not to you now that you know that Benz is further delaying their EV plans.- 74 replies

Cadillac News: Cadillac Going Back To Names for EVs
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
Umm no they’re not, at this rate. They have already delayed for a year and I suspect maybe longer given the money contraction with the company this year. Not even talking about Porsche because duh, they already have a product out with the Taycan (soon anyway). Funny you talk about folks not paying that for a Cadillac when one hasn’t evens come out though, much less at $150K. Must be nice to make up non-provable hypotheticals. I do know some Porsche buyers that are considering a C8 though so there’s that.- 74 replies

Cadillac News: Cadillac Going Back To Names for EVs
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
“They’ll build good EVs” You would think that the “best or nothing” would already have such things. Guess if I walk into a Mercedes dealership and ask about them if they have any good EVs, the answers are going to be “nothing” and “the Tesla showroom is just up the road”. And you think Cadillac is somehow going to have to climb this mythical mountain of ten brands to be taken seriously in the EV market. Well, seems to be that it’s no more than nine brands since you basically admitted that Benz doesn’t have any good EVs right now (and it won’t be in the next year either).- 74 replies

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
surreal1272 replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
So their big issue was pricing them too high, like GM did with the Bolt. It clearly isn’t the EV part hence Tesla having no issues with moving them. The other thing to consider is that all Jaguars suck on the sales side of that coin so there is no surprise there. There is also the issue of reliability from Jaguar (spotty at best for decades) and Audi to a slightly lesser extent. Add in the total lack of marketing for both (also the problem with the Bolt). Point here is that it is not just one thing that hurt Audi and Jaguar. -

DING DING DING! You are deflecting and it clearly wasn’t a waste of your time or wouldn’t have bothered to reply. You were trolling with some BS and were shown the door on your weak statement. The Silverado in question averages the same price at a dealership as the Bolt Premiere ($42-45K), is their best seller, yet they are offering larger discounts on it than the Bolt. Now where’s the criticism of the business model there? Oh that’s right. It’s an ICE and not and EV so it doesn’t warrant the same criticism from the EV troll. The point here is that your Colorado niche vehicle argument doesn’t fly so, DING DING DING! Your troll statement is pure bunk and the true waste of someone’s time. Seriously. You bitched about EVs being discussed on the Random Thoughts thread and a dedicated thread is made as a result of said bitching. Then, to top it off, you troll said thread at every chance you get. Make up your mind or here’s a thought, stop trolling this thread. -

Sees the Bolt deals (only one trim level btw, the most expensive one) and then sees the much higher deals on the BEST SELLING model in Chevrolets stable (multiple Silverados) and wonders if someone is just trolling yet again on a thread they originally wanted no part of even though they cried for it to happen because mentioning EVs on the Random Thoughts thread was not “random enough”. -
My uncle has a 2020 model and loves the lane assist feature (he’s 76 so quite helpful for him). Don’t know how he lives with that CVT but at the same time, he’s not trying to drag race anyone in it.

You would do wise to remember your OWN words. Everything you have said is nothing but hearsay and therefore not admissible yet you constantly speak like it is the Bible truth. I am merely speaking from an actual experience from an actual owner That happened literally two days ago at my own home. What do you have? My guess is nothing.- 74 replies

Cadillac News: Cadillac Going Back To Names for EVs
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
It’s funny how you think your hate for EVs means that everyone else hates them too. Example? The man who appraised my home yesterday was driving a Tesla 3 while also owning a Ford F-150 Crew. Because he drives around town a lot and the Ford is a gas sucker, the Tesla saves him so much grief with its 300+ miles range. He really loved the instant torque off the line. He actually loves both and realizes they have different uses and purpose. He said he had zero regrets about buying the Tesla. The point here is that your constant attempts to speak for everyone in regards to EVs is just pure bunk.- 74 replies

“You do get that it’s NOT always about bumps in horsepower right?” Corrected for omission.
-
Goal post moving doesn’t change the fact that the Escalade has routinely outsold the GLS. Your future guessing will not change that fact with these new models coming out, they will continue to sell well and routinely outpace the competition. And you have a lot of nerve holding fleet sales against GM while Mercedes whores out as many E Class taxis as they can produce and the sheer number of fleet sales of the S Class is equally staggering. When Benz does it, it’s good. When GM does it, it’s bad. Just more of that fanboy “logic” I guess.
-
And that Tahoe outsells all of its competitors while the Escalade outsells all of its competitors. Maybe GM knows something you don’t? (Again looks at the Mercedes lineup and wonders what you’ve been smoking).
-
You do get that its always about bumps in horsepower right? If it happens to way less and the current engine has been updated to make better use of that horsepower, then it is still a solid gain and a tactic that is utilized by all makes including Benz. And again, you talk about looking good or not looking good while not saying a word about the ugliness of your favorite brand (again, looks at the new GLA and holds back vomit).

Cadillac News: 2021 Cadillac Escalade Leaks Out

Pretty much what I’m getting at as well. It’s not ugly, but its an Escalade. It should carry a little more “wow” up front.
