  1. Your points are great except the last one. Besides that fact that yes, your speculation has been very good for a good while, I'd be wary of speculating the performance of the GT350 when we've heard tidbits here and there. The Z28 itself was a surprising debut for the Zeta Camaro. I think it'll be an epic potential match-up, but I'm not leaning on either side yet.
  2. I think I need to see more of this car to make a full impression, but based on these grainy photos, I think it looks ugly and is badly proportioned, like the new Focus sedan with Fusion styling grafted onto it. Too much styling. The Malibu looks triple AAA grade good, except its busy front end, but this is just busy all over. Even though the current Cruze is dated, it's an exceptionally clean design, like the 2008-12 Malibu, 2010-12 Fusion and 2003-2007 Honda Accord. I like those cars A lot. Everything else seems top notch. A decent displacement turbo, unlike Ford's 1.0L for the segment, dual-clutch (hopely not maligned like the PowerShift or FCA's dual-clutch), perhaps a carryover diesel. Voltec seems right, but also seems redundant. Look to Toyota to see that there's no need for a Corolla Hybrid with the car already getting 40 mpg easily. It's not so easy to just plug and play power-train bits, especially when they make no sense to the target buyer. If I want Voltec, I'll get the Volt, and then if people carrying is more important than the best EREV range, a Malibu. Atleast the much hated 1.8 is finally being sent to the scrap heap. A good amount of weight loss, and a nicer interior to boot. It's more well rounded on the interior and power train front, but the exterior might irk some who trade in their old Cruze for a new one.
  3. Part of the turbo movement is because of taxes in markets other than the U.S. that are based on displacement. Displacement is a stupid measure of efficiency, cars should be taxed on what mileage they are rated at, not the technology under the hood if you ask me. But BMW and some Ford and GM efforts have proven that engines can be turbo charged the right way and the wrong way, so it's not an entirely lost cause. It's no secret that even Honda, Toyota and now FCA will ditch midrange V6s in favour of turbo I4s for their mass-market applications. And, as long as BRIC nations (except tanking Russia) continue their spectacular growth in auto sales, they're going to dictate the future trends we see in automobile design and manufacturing. Part of One Ford can basically be attributed to the pressures of having to build vehicles compliant with China and at the same time for the rest of the world; and it's the same reason why the 1.5L EcoBoost exists.
  4. Well it's a great development, but I expect the ATS-V+ if anything to be what the Centennial Edition Package was for the Z06. For one year only and perhaps ditching some niceties like rear seats and other weight-saving measures. But before any of that can come to fruition, they need to flesh out their lineup. Enough VSports and VSeries. Now it's time for the meat and potatoes.
  5. Ouch??? Wings??? Personally I'm sick of the drama.. but we all kno that the some won't let to go away. You can bet the press is perpetuating the issue. This country absolutely hates it's corporations, while very often at the same time loving foreign ones. Seriously. If the Revolutionary war were fought today, you can bet good money we'd be sending tax dollars to the Queen Terrible post. You of all people, why am I not surprised?
  6. I'm a sucker for the new Mustang. I would get the 3.7 and add the $695 dark 5 spoke wheel option, manual tranny and keep me under $30k.
  7. Yeah... Those guys and TAF are always the problem. I wish Wings would actually contribute his knowledge of engines, because he really does know his stuff in that regard, but he just can't stop being a shill. Yeah... Those guys and TAF are always the problem. I wish Wings would actually contribute his knowledge of engines, because he really does know his stuff in that regard, but he just can't stop being a shill. Grand Turismo isn't that bad, he doesn't like Ford or GM equally. I don't know Casa, for a while I could have easily tossed you with the rest of them, but... you've changed and good on doing that.
  8. I have to say, this new forum, is just amazing. Coming from MT, everything is logically laid out, with finally...threads specific to certain sections of webpage. It was a little to much at first, seeing just the complexity and simplicity at the same time, but WOW! Amazing!
  9. NO EFFIN' WAY!!! U and I don't always see eye to eye, bought I brought U over.. LOL.. Either way.. I think I will take your advice on this one for once.. Wings is an old "friend," but he would troll the hell out of this place.. and C&G would have their first BANNED member in a long time I think BTW Olds.. can U make your sig pic slightly smaller??? NOTE: just found a new feature by mistake.. If U have to add to what U just posted... U don't have to hit edit apparently.. it just adds it to the post instead of making a totally new post. And Phone optimization is very nice. Love this software I aint the boss of you, dude. And I dont think you really care what I have to say about the matter either..but thanx for the polite answer anyway...I respect you for that. I changed the pic and made it smaller...if anybody still has an issue with the size...please kindly tell me to make it even smaller...I will oblige and comply. You can add pics to your sig?!!! WTF!!!!
  10. For the price and accouterments, the Genesis is really hard to beat. I mean, trying to find flaws in a car from a maker that is trying punch above its weight in prestige is a refreshing change from the established luxury makes going downmarket for simple economics. Hyundai isn't expecting to succeed yet still did it, while Mercedes and Audi are reaming in the cash from one of the laziest product efforts. I'd rather get a $45k Genesis than a $45K CLA. It's just plain American wholesome sense. Heck, the Genesis is essentially one way to interpret the American way of giving more, and more stuff which is better than the lesser stuff, for less.
  11. Well, it is a bit of PR spin though for Marry Barra to downplay the criminal aspect as worrisome "incompetence and neglect". People died here! And it was good for the many Congressman to call her out for being so reckless in her responses to their questioning. Otherwise, there's been safety debacles before with other automakers. Atleast now GM finally has the laser-vision like focus on getting better, not for the sake of beating others, but for the sake of being better than ever before. It'll be a slow, but calculated march back up with excellent product and a constant attention to reputation to bring back the goliath that was at one point the biggest, best and most profitable automaker ever. And don't expect anyone else to buckle against GM. As hard as GM punches, the rest will come back like bloodthirsty hounds to settle the score.
  12. Absolutely. As soon as the MT Forum went downhill I took a good long vacation, figuring it'd take weeks of attempts to get a single post up. I came back at the point when basically MT forums was about to die... AND SEE YAAA (Micheal Kay reference)!!!! The mix of good people stamping out the infection and bad software left everyone all the trolls disgruntled, all the time.
  13. It can't be that bad CP. Sure the market may not exist, but it is a hidden jem in the segment. I like the car, it offers a lot, and it certainly beat both Lincoln and Cadillac to market as a flagship product offering. Though the CT6 will absolutely bury anything other than the S-Class.
  14. I had to shake my head for a second, because I thought the photo was an all-new CTS-V Coupe. Narly. Love it. Keep it up Cadillac.
  15. The looks alone though, keep the 200 and Fusion at the top of my list. Honestly, the Mazda 6, Fusion and 200 as well as the soon to come Malibu look to be the best looking midsize cars. For so long it seems, that we've went away from looks to just focus on the hard numbers and objective measures of performance. But can't we all say unanimously that these 4 along with kudos to the Accord Sport and Optima SX are the outright best looking midsizers?
  16. Alright, let's get into the nitty gritty. Finally a place to have real discussion, not the constant meandering at MT.
  17. Okay CP I've been converted!!! Will you be our messiah to lead the charge to this new homeland? Good for a chuckle or two.
