  1. I remember those...you had to run them into a tree to get them to stop running... :P
  2. It's funny you say that...There was a 86 Coupe around here I saw driven by an older couple that had 212k on it...and it was in pretty good shape... I went to school with two friends who beat the piss out of their Cavaliers, and both of those cavs ( 89 sedan w/2.2 91 coupe w/3.1) got around 200k....(i think the 89 got over, but have to double check of that one)
  3. And I thought it was just me... :P (ION)
  4. ok, I can understand where you are coming from. But If someone is willing to do what you do for half of what you make with no benefits, would you match that or lose your job. I do get tried of that " skilled" labor arguement- you can be replaced with better regardless whether you have a high demand job or not. There is (and will be) people that willing to do what it takes to get your job. And keep in mind-people should be paid by both how much they work, and how hard they work. Some of those "unskilled" you speak of often more more hours then the "skilled" to make that 50 or 60k. I myself am "skilled" and going back to school again-but here I struggle. :( So being paid what your worth means pretty much nothing- it isn't realistic enough. I have to disagree with the sad part- with all the layoffs and downsizing, there is more and more of that "28k" going around. And that, my friend, is very, very sad.... :(

 Now you're going to have to keep an eye out!
  6. ION! ION! ION! :) If not ION, then Cobalt... ^_^
  7. No, that's how WE let the world work..
  8. The Market huh? So if I tell you you're worth 8 bucks an hour, you'll take it? What if they can't afford to aquire those skills? What about families? I can tell some of you don't have kids then.... kinda sad if a family is going to live on 28k...
  9. I think it has a lot to do with no longer having pride in America itself. If we did-we wouldn't all go out and by the cheapest thing possible. Once in a while, I see a few things that say made in the USA...then I laugh. It will be just a matter of time before nothing is no longer here..because it will be cheaper to make it somewhere else. I took pride in buying my Cavalier, knowing that I'm supporting someone in L-town....one of many reasons that I bought it. I could have bought a Rio, or an Accent, or even a Civic. We shouldn't be happy with just being able to just get something....as Americans, And American companies ,should take care of things here first. Wall street has everyone so worried about profit, companies will do whatever it takes to hit those high profits marks. By this time next year, Nothwest will have no unions. There won't be a point. The union employees could strike, like our current ones, which will never come back to work. If Northwest does come out of this-workers will make about 40% less than they do now. Have pride? Why? I might be cheaper to have somewhere else...
  10. +1 I'm glad reg feels the same way about those shifters,,,,
  11. Are we talking about the engine or gas tanks? Confused...
  12. Sable. Century. GM. Crown Vic. In that order.
  13. Ouch! Though I have to agree..a neighbor got into a nasty smash (hit by three different cars) and was able to walk away from it..(after needing to be cut out) He swears by onr now, after his 00' was totaled, he got a GXP..
  14. I liked the Impy..and drove a 06 before they sold though them all here... A white LS....for a around town car it is a cozy ride.. And those 200+ horsies were great on the freeway.. just give me a nice tasteful set of 17' aftermarket rims and a sunroof, and I would be good to go... B)
  15. i'm hoping for the same there...my 3.1 is at 132k right now....runs pretty good, though it is goinf to need a few things..a MAP sensor, fuel filter (even though the other one isn't that old).. The thing that worries me a bit is the fact that I can smell Antifreeze after driving for a while. Oil looks fine (aside from the fact it will be due for an oil change) and its not leaking it, nor is it down at all. My guess is I might have a leaky hose starting somewhere... If these can all get fixed right(no surprises), I'm hoping my wagon will get to 200k....
  16. Sliverado. Your mass crazy seller right there... Or tahoe....
  17. ????? I wonder how my laugh at the joke on the last page ended up all the way over here..... Strange... Now back to our regular programming.....
  18. The way I see it, it leaves room for mistakes... Doing it in less time is fine, But halfing the time? Something is bound to get left out... The question becomes, not only CAN they do it, but can they do it RIGHT?
  19. Yep, so I wouldn't even worry about it.I'm sure by the time most of the 07s and 08s roll out, stanard is what they will be. Sometimes I just don't understand why it is such a big deal. When a neighbor bought a cavalier last year for his commuter car, he was going to just pick a a base car, but for a little over a grand more (ABS, side airbags) he was going to save around 50 bucks a month on car insurance! Heck, the few extra bucks on the car are worth the savings in car insurance alone after a few years... :)
  20. Agreed. Most people just commmute and realx...not getting a twtich...
