i would need AWD, ALL SEASON tires. I want DI, manual, sunroof, 5.1, brakes, heated seats. not much else. its too much brain damage to figure out if they are screwing me or not. at least it appears you can get a stick with AWD, which would be the whole point. because the dumbasses in detroit (i know, that's redundant) aren't putting AWD on the G8 apparently.

i simply don't want a hyundai and korean cars have a bad smell anyways. naw look again, the ambdas have some cheap plastic going on. not the hard really cheap stuff in the edge.... when i was driving the edge i did not notice the cheapness of the plastic so much because the center stack is prominent in your sightlines. dodge magnum, now THAT has cheap plastic.

my guess is the new fit is not as hideous and cheesy as the current one and will gain sales too. i would like to see a crx too. a cheaper hybrid makes sense for them. honda usually makes pretty good decisions without having to resort to the same marketing and PR crap toyota does. honda still makes p*ssy cars though.

VW has earned its place here and does not deserve to go. diesels the bus beetle scirroco corrado passat fox eurovan golf jetta i would rather see other brands die. hyundai kia honda toyota etc. vw is a long time contributor to our automotive history in the US. its really the quality issue but everything else is there. remember we say 'its all about product'? well, vw's product is good and look where that gets them. it was styling and interiors that got vw popular earlier this decade. it was reliability that killed them. in the age of the internet, 5 minutes of surfing tells the idiotic non thinking amurchan to buy a camry or accord. and its that much harder for a diverse automotive landscape. its not fair. the current jetta and rabbit are very good cars. they lease them cheap and in lesser trims are fairly reasonable to buy. beetles are cheap and campy. a big problem is stuff like the phaeton and v6 passats way too spendy. audi going downmarket doesn't help. here's what i would do to flush out vw's lineup. rabbit - as is pretty much. jetta- stop trying to peddle loaded versions at such a high price. gti- seemingly ok beetle......i would try to bring down the pricing to move them in more volume except for some special editions. the interior needs a redo. this car needs a marketing push. passat......repackage it. get the word out about the base model and lower equipped models. i would consider dropping the v6's. i would rebadge the eos as the jetta convertible. or i might even drop the model. i might drop the toareg. off a cliff if possible. they need a budget entry, a size smaller than the rabbit. bring the polo over. scirroco too. vw needs a cheap crossover. tiguan is unattractive. they can do better. a good crossover or two would help vw. i've never understood why GM never marketed the saab 9-3 to passat customers. 'vw's break down' and the saab is more unique. i think saab could have sustained itself in the US just off of disgruntled VW customers.....poaching them......an extra 10,000 a year or so. vw's dealers don't help. they are often pushy rude and bad places overall. VW must have poor customer relations.

the lambdas are very good and have better interiors than the edge, yes, however, the lambdas still use cheap cheap cheap plastic. not much better than the cobalt's grainy hard stuff. the equinox interior is one of the worst on the market. the lambda interior is an audi interior in comparison. at least in the torrent they put in contrasting cloth to pull your eye away from the nasty pop bottles. at least the edge has elbow room and width and has the window switches where humans look to use them.

i don't think he'd drive a p-o-# like that.

i forgot. since the GM vans were not high profile though you can forgive me for that. the relative reliability of the versatrak was offset by 'the gasket' anyways.

my father in law said he got 34mpg on his trip last week. in his v6 Olds 88. that civic getting 32 is no big deal then.

there won't be a lot of equinox sports out there. the bulk of them will have chinese pushrods. and all of them will be door side elbow knockers from lack of girth and have the ancient theta and power window swtiches on the center console area. Power window switches were intended by God to be on the doors. To have them anywhere else is insane. I would not dispute an equinox sport being a good drive, if they drive as advertised. I never found the old vue with honda motor a good drive or good suspension. the front end was too heavy, there was driveline lag, and it didn't feel rock solid. In Sport guise, if it turns out to have good suspension and handling, then you could really pick the sport because its more involved and such. I think if the equinox sport is priced ok on the actual lot, its a worthwhile option. too bad a gasoline can has more nicely textured plastic than the equinox.

priced to move, most GM vehicles have similar discounts. so again, its the same price as the vue and they weight about the same for having more size etc. in the edge. weight is not an issue since the smaller vue is as porky. besides, vs. the murano, yeah the murano is lighter but go find user reports, it gets crap mpg despite the light weight. I'll take the crash safety, thanks. find a lambda on the showroom floor you can buy for 28k. a stripped fwd outlook. that is 5 grand more than the SE edge which is pretty well equipped. sorry. at a minimum the edge destroys the equinox. GM has nothing to go against the edge. the only edge complaint that is legit is interiors but that is the same complain you can level on any GM vehicle produced ever. and even then its not that bad. the plastic spec and center stack could just use an upgrade. the seats are fabulous.

nissan, make it less ugly inside and out and make it hold up. i am pretty glad nowadays that i did not get one a couple years ago. it's still the best driving minivan but c'mon, make it a semblance of attractive. please. believe it or not, the reason many folks jump off the minivan bandwagon, besides the nerdiness of it, is lack of AWD. no one to date has come up with a minivan that has had a reliable problem free fuss free AWD.

i think the pilot is getting impacted by the lambdas, plus its old. that didn't keep my neighbor from just getting one last week. he's a honda banger. trying to sell his civic. whatever. a buddy is car shopping due to an unofrtunate accident and now today emails me and says he is thinking of an accord because 'they are rated so highly'. I had him try a mazda6 last week and have basically pleaded with him to try everything but an accord or camry but i suppose another 'i don't care so i will pick the highest rated' comes to roost.
