i still am surprised that folks have the extra 10 grand to throw out the window to feel better about themselves or to 'make a statement'. it goes to show how hollow we as people are. we think buying something or throwing money at making some half hearted statement about who we are or what we support is a true show of support. Nah, showing support for environmental principles or showing support for oil policy or better gas mileage would be far better spent getting involved by particpating in promotion and political processes to convince others why improvement is needed. etc. You GIVE or your time and work, you don't just make a cheesy visual statement that because you drive a Prius that you are more righteous about the world than others. You could give that 10,000 bucks extra you spent to a research company to develop alternative fuels or pollution cleanup or reduction or something. We all want so desperately to stand out and be seen, don't we?

toyota will park a couple Prius two blocks away and call on the press to come report on how not only is a tahoe excess to drive, that the marketing campaign is also excessive as well. i think chevy's campaign is a great idea but toyota will find a way to use that and turn the press into negative for GM and positive for toyo.

well humor me, it was the first time i saw it. and i thought it was fking funny.

the mazda6 and altima fours are buzzy, i've driven those too. the camry is a decent four cylinder, but a v6 in that car is still a better solution.

I owned a Prism (Corolla) with the 1.8 and yes, it was sort of peppy to 50 mph if you shifted right, and as long as you had momentum. its lack of power in many situations actually made it unsafe. Hard braking at 70+ followed by a need to accelerate rapidly to avoid traffic, and the thing simply fell on its face...even downshifting to third or second. No torque to get the car moving again. The ecotec from GM is a far superior engine because it has torque. And I mean the base 2.2. the Ion redline i drove went like stink and had awesome power up high and down low. Also I've driven a Vibe GT and it was a pain in the ass. Had to get it up to 5000 rpm or more just to get it to move. Then it was really noisy. Loud and grating. Not very fun or powerful. Even driving great 4 cylinders like the 9-3 saab, you get into a 6 cylinder car immediately after that and you wonder why you even considered the four. 6 cylinder is the way to go if you can swing it.

geesus, wasn't it me last week who said the next BU was shaping up to be a rebadge of the Aura? and now it sounds EVen more like that might be the case. same plant even.

we already despise America. so just bite the hand that feeds just a little harder...... you know what? i live in the best country in the world. The US doesn't alway tackle challenges head on,but we still have the mostdesire as a society to advance the world than ANYONE else. We have the best entertainers, uncountable numbers of excellent businesses, lavish housing, big ass malls, plasma tvs for sale, dora the explorer, and girls gone wild! we have TACO BELL. We have young attractive foreign brides across the globe who would rather get with some old ugly cranky middle aged American dude than stay in their own countries. We got department stores and toilet paper Got styrofoam boxes for the ozone layer Got a man of the people, says keep hope alive Got fuel to burn, got roads to drive. ----Keep on rockin' in the free world (neil young) Japan inc.and Germany built some damn nicecars. But American cars are pretty nice, too. Some of the cars offered for sale by AMURCHAN companies outright KICKSERIOUS FRICKIN ass. Corvette, CTSv, GXP GP, Ford GT, Fusion, Mustang GT, sure...a lot of these very cars have flaws...but dammit, go buy one and you'll enjoy the hell out of it. Most bitchers don't get that the good American products they love to trash are likely still 5 times better than the 10 year old pile of crap sitting in their garage, or the 5 year old corolla with too many door dings to mention because the sheet metal is so thin. what cracks me up is how people think their choice of car validates your worth in society. MY GOD, drive what you want and what suits you. You despeise your country so much you won't even TEST DRIVE an American name car? People in this country have got to start feeling a little better about this country. its not that bad a place to be.

i'm not sure why honda and toyota continually get excused for their torqueless 4 cylinder carsthat have no displacement. they can get respectable ZERO-sixty times with them, but go back and check the 5-60 times after that. yeah, on the interstate i'd lovethe high rpm performance, but they gotta start upping the displacement and bring up the usable torque on them too.

considering the new and improved civic has like ONE WHOLE EXTRA cubic feet of interior space over its cramped predecessor, i'll save myself the time. there are much more useful cars out there for me for the same money with more space and good real world mpg that don't need to be so highly strung just to get them to go anywhere. and i doubt i would want to be seen in traffic driving one..... "hey, look at that punk youngster driving in the civic!!!"
