SEMA 2010: Toyota Builds ... A Rear-Drive Camry?
because.............it's larger, it would probably cost a lot less, and the IS doesn't come as a true coupe yet, it's either a sedan or (somewhat awkward looking) hardtop convertible.

So you hate them for building a coupe that's RWD and actually desirable. That makes sense. Last I checked, RWD coupes weren't copyrighted by America. FYI, GM hasn't had a RWD "personal luxury coupe" in decades. That's their own fault.

And a coupe no less. I'll admit it: that's pretty damn cool.

Have you voted yet?
Mine too. I agree with Camino and Satty. if you don't bother to vote then you have no right to complain. You aren't doing anything to change things.

Have you voted yet?
Voted, and then got some lunch. The only candidates I've really paid attention to is for MA governor. I voted for Patrick because while he has increased state spending, a lot of it has gone towards renovating and rebuilding bridges. That's something that has been needed to be done for decades. The Republican running against him, I can't remember his name, just that he's angry, plans to cut that budget in half. I guess he missed all of the recent stories about chunks of bridges collapsing on major roads.

The Dark Side Is Calling...
That's not what he means. The CRZ could have been a truely fun to drive, rev happy hatch with a well tuned suspension, good brakes, and good fuel economy. Instead what Honda tried to do was take an Insight, make it less fuel efficient, and make it look more sporty and only make it decent to drive. It doesn't help being weighed down by the batteries either. They should have focused on the former, and on using weight saving materials to make it lighter and more efficient. Oh and less ugly.

Scary Halloween CURSE
That sucks, sorry to hear. Did you get the assclown's insurance?

Recalling Toyota's Recalls: Over 14 million Vehicles recalled in the past 12 months.
That would make twice that they've earned such an achievement (more vehicles recalled than sold).

Recalling Toyota's Recalls: Over 14 million Vehicles recalled in the past 12 months.
Nice data chart. So, has Toyota surpassed Ford and GM for most recalls in a year? I know Ford had a couple big ones with their cruise control issues and GM had big ones decades ago.

Has Hallowe'en been P.C.'d to death?
I discovered something cool about where I live now, Athol. On Friday most or all of the business on Main Street had people out front giving out candy to kids. I had no idea anybody did this. Real sense of community. There were hundreds of people "trick or treating". No fear mongering there, just responsible, nice people. This was all being done in mid afternoon on the busy main road that runs through the center of town. Tonight was actual trick or treating. I had work for 9 hours today, so I just didn't have the energy to participate, but the rest of the family spent today setting up a graveyard in the front yard and webs and stuff. It was pretty cool, especially for a last minute thing. Where I used to live, myself and some friends used to do the best Halloween setup in the neighborhood. A couple of years we turned the front porch into a mad scientist's lab, and the yard into a mini graveyard with one person dressed as Death. he would remain perfectly motionless until curious people went over to him to see if he was real or not. When they turned around to walk away he would make a movement and scare the crap out of people. Another year we set up a candle lit path to the back yard where we created a sacrificial alter and would sacrifice someone on it. We used a real sword for the scene too. We used a fog machine to make it difficult to see until you got to the alter. Good times. We actually had to "dumb it down" when really little kids came by because they were too afraid to come. We'd scare adults, that's how awesome we were. I'd love to get into that again, but just didn't have time or energy this year for it. Hopefully next year.

Project Toronado
I love NGK spark plugs. Chrysler used them in 3.2/2.5s from the factory (Laser Platinums), and I stuck with them. the Prizm now runs NGK Platinum as well.

RRRRRing... "Dark Side Here!"
Yeah but hold off on a Challenger until the 2011's come out. Of course, of ocn's criteria, only the Mustang is anywhere near "small" The other two are bigger cars.

RRRRRing... "Dark Side Here!"
RWD, 31 MPG, 305-HP V6, Starting at $22,145 As far as Scion goes, I've always like the first gen tC, but I'm not feeling the new car.

Photohunt: Meanist, Scariest automotive face
Oh crap, I totally forgot to post mine!

Project Toronado
I try to avoid driving it in the winter. Usually I'll either drive the Prizm or borrow the Grand Marquis. If I have to use mine I was it religiously...perhaps that's why the underbody is in good shape.

The Intrepid Project
In case anyone's interested... I finished the job today. Would have been done yesterday but work called me in, so I only got one side done. Have to say, it went very well. Calipers looked good, parts moved freely, an no fluid leaks. However I do now see that my spring isolators are shot. Ah well, plan to redo the suspension anyway. Pics! As you can clearly see, whoever put pads on this car last used the cheapest ones possible. They look just like the crappy "Economy" pads we sell. Not an issue anymore. My brakes look so nice now! Stops quietly too! No more horrible grinding noise. Hopefully the paint lasts.

2011 Dodge Avenger released
And you would know that because you've sat in it? On design alone it look much better, but any tactile judgments based on a couple of photos is foolish.

2011 Dodge Avenger released
That it is. Whether they changed it or not for the MCE would still have people who do and don't like it. However, the Avenger's exterior isn't universally loathed like the Sebring's, so no there wasn't anything horribly wrong with it.

2011 Dodge Avenger released
I never had a problem with the way the Avenger looked, most people don't besides the kink and the somewhat abrupt roofline. Still it's was never the car's weak point. The interior, powertrain, and driving dynamics were. Those look to all have been address. I can't wait to take one for a spin.
